Probably because at this point, the online playerbase has cleared out, and all that's left are the sweatlords. Nobody in this shithole hosts custom lobbies, and I have no desire to play WM when I'm already Legend 1. Sega is too slow when it comes to patching the game into a fun and balanced state and now this is what we're left with.
Expect the next patch in the coming weeks to gut Monster Trucks and Lasers just like Drills and reduce hitstun and ring loss across the board so that DRE Minecarts can win even easier than they do now.

Because every single ranked match outside legend is dead and filled with bots
And then when you get to legend it's still filled with bots but only 50% of the time
Then you either ring engine and frontlead all game and play glorified single player or bag

I want the items to be adjusted too, but right now items are the sole thing keeping DRE in check. Toning them down without anything done to the Ring Engines may as well just bring the game back to a pre-1.3.1 state where you can't hit the people up front, only this time instead of it being because they're spamming shields, it's because they're just too far away that even if they get hit by some crazy chance, you're not making up any significant ground on them. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic though, the prior patches and how long we've taken to get them haven't given me much hope for the game's future.

You don't even understand what makes DRE powerful. The stat bonuses themselves are relatively minor and only amount to slightly better handling and drift charge. I wish I could enjoy it, but for the price and the fact that I just don't seem to really "click" with the gameplay, I only play during the free periods and really just a race or two. I'm just not really good at racers these days and not wanting to sink a ton of time into getting good, but man, I'm envious of all the mods people are putting out.

I wouldn't mind adding it to my library either through Humble Choice someday or Deluxe for $20 around Christmas, but it's just too high a price for what it is and not even Megaman can get me onboard with that kind of money.

Technically these threads aren't too lively outside Festivals. The only time they get some kind of traction is when some anon decides to host lobbies for fun. And that's already pretty rare since we're all on different time zones and all that shit that makes it difficult for people to get in on time.

I've played a few before. But I suck at this kind of games and I don't have access to them anymore I'm also a poorfag so buying one is out of the question for me. I could emulate some of the old ones, but like I said, I'm not very good and would be time wasted instead of playing something I enjoy more.

The game never lost it's spark with me, it's still a fun game. Current meta is both fun and anti fun which isn't good enough for me to consider solo queuing and there aren't many threads these days outside of Festival and sometimes LC so I just play other games.

I did my share of CTR:NF on it's days. I got tired of blue fire autism all day every day so I'm not that eager to go back to it. Devs were kind of based tho, they gave us almost every single recognizable character in the fucking franchise. And fucking costumes. WHERE'S THE DONPA TICKETS COSTUME SHOP SEGA FOR FUCKS SAKE. Wish the game wouldn't have die as quickly as it did.

As crude as it feels to say i don't think anyone gives a shit about Chu Chu Rocket, Space Channel Five, Samba De Amigo, Crazy Taxi, Fighting Vipers, Shinobi, Jet set radio, Billy hatcher, Golden Ax, Streets of Rage or Alter Beast, Sakura Wars and Rinstar.

true, NiGHTs wasn't even hidden, he's on the back of the box and he's kinda a psuedo sonic character, you can't be a sonic fan and not know who he is, which is why despite all 3 sonic moviess and the spin off there was never a cameo of him nor miku in those films. shame too because even through I'm not all that into Miku's music she and sonic definitely have a history, really so does sonic and puyo puyo, amy's cosplayed as amitty before, sonic was in puyo puyo tetris too, eggman was hanging out with satan in sonic runners and I think silver and that guy with the sword almost go into a fight because sword boy's way of talking always makes him look like a bad guy

I made a loose theory a while back during Patch 1 on who we can expect, based on previous collabs and how often Sega chooses them. so far, things have lined up accurately with it, even Angry Birds came true. the only curveball is having a remainder of 3 characters to choose from, making it tougher to predict who it can be if we're not getting a 2nd pass. it's really anyone at this point, with Beat and Classic Sonic seeming the most likely. Movie Sonic/Shadow possible too

if it makes you feel better the next time there's another sonic racing game they'll definitely be in it and they'll have voices, i won't even mock you for wanting them as I really wanted Ariem to be in this game, I liked dream team for what it was but I really wanted Ariem to be able to interact with other characters because the thought of eternally being in front of an empty device that won't be functioning for another million years sounds like hell to me, plus I'm really curious why she was lumped in with Silver and Blaze and if she were to interact with them how would they talk to her compared to everyone else?

looking through the wiki Ariem seems kind of another god she apparently can see dreams and guards a device capable of making dreams become reality, through after Sonic stopped Eggman from taking it by force the device was shut down for another million years and Ariem returns to her duty to guard it, through since Eggman willingly gave up the relic item he was able to mess with it so they can willingly enter it just so Cream can continue to visit Ariem in person.

so what can they do with a character with a broken ability like that if they ever intend on using them again? through personally she's probably gonna be like Marine regulated to small cameos in comics and off hand mentions by Blaze whenever she gets in a game, even in crossworlds Marine is name dropped by her through not in character dialogue but as an off hand comment the player will rarely see on the coral reef track when playing as blaze

maybe even less, gemerl is never mentioned by anyone outside of comics his latest apparence is Chaotix Case File where he finally has a voice actor and it's Infinite's new VA since Liam either didn't want to reprase the role or he had prior projects scheduled at time of recording
