I heard the story of the Activision Spinout from a Producer who frequented the PS Discord for some reason. They told me that Bungie was impossible to work with for the QA staff, and everyone inside Acti was complaining about their "Rockstar" attitude constantly. And eventually the issues coupled with Destiny 2 struggling probably led to them making the deal to spin out. Bungie really passed this off as "We are free from their shackles!" but from the perspective of Activision it was "we finally got rid of those assholes."

>>739383027It's a real shame because the Destiny 2 expansions that had Activision support were the best ones they've ever made.Witch Queen and Final Shape are impressive knowing they made them all in-house, but neither hold a candle to the scope and quality of content in Foresaken.I honestly really wish they had stayed with Activison, we would have gotten better expansions and no sunsetting
