>Attack has 90% chance to hit>Misses 4 times in a row
>xcom
>>739387157That's only a 1/10000 chance, not that unlikely.
This only happens to meThis only happens on Pokemon PvP
>miss 4 90% hits in a row>enemy has a 5% chance to hit you>they hit you and get a critFucking darkest dungeon
>>739387157How dare yall not mention xcom in this. Its the meme of this.
>>739387298Happens in Pokemon all the time.
I've been playing the second Pokemon Trading Card game on GB and I'm pretty fucking sure the computer cheats. I can't prove it, but sometimes I'll flip four coins at a critical moment where I otherwise would have won handily, get four tails in a row, and lose. I also managed to get nine heads in a row during the Coin Flip casino game, which I'm pretty sure is statistically impossible, but the game just let me do it to get the exclusive card after a few tries.
>>739387513>I also managed to get nine heads in a row during the Coin Flip casino game
>>739387157>Enemy has 2% chance to hit and 5% chance to crit>Crits twice in a row>Reset game>They do it again
>>739387157>game can have random outcomes>a possible random outcome happens>big madWhy are gaymers like this?
>>739387671Propability is dark, arcane magic to most people for some reason
>>739387439>>739387237
>>739387157If you are playing xcom they have systems to prevent save scumming
>>739387157https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPSaOgx6-6s
just 6 more hits to do it then
>>739389754Not how probability works
>skyrim>pickpocketing>90% chance of successful pickpocket>it's actually 90% chance of failure
>>739391608pickpocketing is actually a 100% chance of success every single time, because you can just keep reloading the game until it works
>low on HP>boss is also low on HP>finishing blow has 90% chance to hit>misses>boss' attack not only hits, but also deals critical damage
>Instakill crits
>>739392989I just beat a tough pokemon boss with 4 hp left on my final pokemon. I'm due for some bad luck after that
>>739387298no it isn't, it's a 1/10 chance 4 times.
>>739387157Rock type really needs a reliable and spammable "flamethrower equivalent" sort of move.
>>739387157That's X COM BAYBEE
>>739394307Anon, you do know what the odds of a 1/10 chance happening 4 times in a row, right?
>game has a bat credit card
>>739387157>a FUCKING TIME LIMIT?!?
>>739387671They unironically see "50% chance to happen" and interpret it as "if item A happens the first time, item B will certainly happen the next time"
>>739387671>90% chance to win>don't winGeez I wonder
>>739387453I once missed a 95% accuracy skill 4 times in a rowI was dumbfounded by the third but at that point I was committed
>>739387671I don't believe in random outcomes.Especially not from computers.
>100% chance to hit>miss
>>739387671>>739387739I think people are bad at it and, on top of that, other games have also helped warped people's perception of probability by rigging it in the player's favor and as people think it should actually be so they feel even more that something is off when they play a game like XCOM that just gives the actual chance shown. Like 90% in Fire Emblem is actually over 98%.
>>739387671Rates are rigged all the time.
>>739387671Because to the human brain >anything over a 60% chance is a guaranteed hit>anything under 30% is guaranteed not to happen
>>739390204one more then, it could've already happened as well
