Rereading Vol.1 Ch1-2 + Vol.2 Ch.1-2 story. It’s very odd how these earlier stories started out.Val.1 is about Abydos gang interacting with Sensei, plus sprinkle of world building in there (Kaiser Corps, Tea Party,Perfect, etc.). I find it odd how they focused on world building details compare to later stories that are more about characters rather than organizations. It made these organizations feel mysterious and intimidating.One thing that's out of character for me was Shiroko hitting Hoshino inside a classroom. It felt weird how she randomly decidedto hit Hoshino like that when both of them knew each others many years prior.Vol. 2 is great all around, but what I find interesting was the characterization of Rio. In second chapter, she's is highly assertive “The End justify the Means" and goes out of her way to carry her plans no matter the cost, but after the ending she became reclusive so much so that it's wild to see her again in Code:Box Millenium Expos, where she is more moderate + still highly autistic, rather than "I’ll save the world even if I make myself the villain" previously. I personally think the best character transformation would have to be Toki, and you can see the shift from stoic monotone dialogue to the more easy and outgoing with the rest of C&C in V2C2epilogue.

I never really bought into the "one bad day is enough to turn you Terror" thing. If I'm remembering the timeline right, Shiroko didn't go Terror even after everyone in Abydos died. She was about to succumb to her wounds from fighting Hoshino Terror before the Chroma itself found her and forced her to go Terror. Hell, even Hoshino in our timeline (and assumedly Kuroko's) didn't go Terror until Basement Dweller started manipulating her into going full retard. I think students are a lot more resilient to it than what a lot of people think.
