>production has stopped

After a little over 4 years, can it be considered dead? How would you rate the performance? About 5 million sales after 4 years, it did worse than both Wii U and PSVita.
Is the 'eck truly 'ack?
>>
no its just passed out drunkj
>>
I give it a zero out of a million

>used systems selling at above MSRP
Not even close to dead
>>
>>739410114
'ick on 'eck
>>
I love mine but I got a Rog Ally Z1 Extreme which I feel is a bit better so my Deck is somewhere in my closet. But it was amazing when it came out, not a replacement for my PC of course but a great handheld to supplement it

I'm pleased with my 'eck. It's a great emulation machine and it's good for playing older AAA games (pre-2017) and indies. I really like steam OS and that I already had a catalog of hundreds of games to play on it without having to buy any separate games. If they made a new one with beefier specs that would be cool but I doubt I'd buy one because my current 'eck runs everything I want to play just fine and it's in great shape. Most of the time if a game can't run on the deck, it's graphics are good enough to where I'd rather play it on my desktop with my big monitor anyways.

Plenty of new releases still target it, but it's not really fast enough to stand on its own. It fills a similar niche as the playstation portal in the sense that only current PC gamers would really consider it, and specifically the ones that don't already have a gaming laptop.
It probably would've survived another few years had the chip shortages killed it early.
>>
>>739410712
you cant even buy it now so i'd say those RAM prices have killed it now
>>
>>739411030
Yeah, that's what I meant, but I forgot a "not" in my last sentence
>>
Of course it is, what do you expect from those lazy ADHD hacks?
>>
>>739410114
yes
>>
>>739410114
Yes because RAM prices are fucked and Valve needs RAM for their new hardware, and getting RAM for Steam Deck would cost them more money.
>>
>>
>>739410114
Probably, they're already working on the Deck 2 and will repeat what they did with the Steam Machine, grab a binned chip (AMD's Medusa Point Little), use only 6 cores, lower the clocks, keep the 12 compute units of RDNA 4m. It'll be an off-the-shelf chip again that's semi-custom made for Valve.
>>
I'd get a deck if I could find one. My RG556 is fine but I wanna play more PC games instead of ports.
>>
>>739410114
Its halted in production because of RAM and storage prices. It's that simple. It was easily selling about 1.5 million units a year even with multiple SKUs (which I think are a fucking mistake, stick to ONE fucking model, Valve). And you gotta remember that that's 1.5 million directly from Steam store. They're not in stores, they're not on Amazon, they don't have a massive distribution system like Walmart.

So, the Deck, yes is sold out, but it is not discontinued. Valve was banking on the VR set, Box, Controller, and Deck all being part of a Steam ecosystem.

Its still updated, still wanted. Your argument is like if a crop blight wiped out avocados and you argue the avocado fad is over

Its not, the supply is just fucked
>>
>>739410114
It gets random shipments and sells out the instant it becomes available. People who compare console sales and deck sales are dumb, it's not even remotely the same situations.
>>
>>739413858
>People who compare console sales and deck sales are dumb
Its always the Tendies doing it
>>
>>739410114
The videogame crash is for real this time. Only that it's now a slow, painful death.
You will not just own nothing, you will have nothing.
>>
Anyone else notice people who don't like decks are the people who don't own them?

Perfect little indie machine for cozy bed Garmin I love mine so much
>>
>>739410114
hibernating due to part shortages. It has a cool use case and I'm finally making time for the games I would have been bored at home grinding something or if I wanted to just fuck around with some mechanics tinkering with combo ideas and shit.
>>
Your production of testosterone has stopped and you're balding, does that mean you are dead?
>>
>>739413310
which makes it easier to control because they are the sole distributor. Valve is making bank more than any other store on top of daily gambling money and somehow they arent willing to tank the cost? Its fucking retarded. this shit is a failure
>>
>>739415090
no, its just means you're old and your sperm is probably worthless, unc
>>
>>739415168
Right, so now go read OP.
>>
>>739415139
They are tanking the cost, they haven't raised the price and the still get intermittent shipments. The problem is component availability.
>>
>>739415529
not making the product at all isn't tanking the cost retard. the thing has been out of stock for months. all the shipments were shit that valve paid for ages ago
