Comfy space interiors edition

ED info:
https://pastebin.com/zEufftYe
Be aware, Thargs are currently grabbing ships out of witchspace and giving out complementary rectal probings, it is advised you shoot the fuck out of them whenever possible, or just go with it if that's your thing, I ain't tellin you how to live. Apparently the Ayylmaos are rumbling again, inquire within if this means goddamned thing or if its just Braben trying to scare up some more money.

What triggers me about the SC ships is that they mostly look like spaceplanes and lots of them have obvious weakpoints with a narrowing section or a thin strut holding something.
For what it's worth E:D ships may not look like atmosphere capable but at least they look like they can be used for combat and taking punishment.

I remember I asked in /edg/ a long time ago if Elite: Dangerous had dynamic supply & demand based on player actions, and the response was that the commodity prices just randomly fluctuated every 15 minutes.

However, I looked it up again and now people are saying that they fixed it and supply & demand is actually dynamic now. Is that true?

Dynamic? Yes, it can now be affected by player actions more, and station status affects it.

If it is the only ship that can mine, you are stuck with it. Also consider that with just a few systems, going out and just finding a Prospector will be a taller order than it wounds. The current PU has a icc mission that is a motherfucker if you don't know where the box is to start. An even larger area could have several ships mining and you would never know, unless you scan for them and give away that you are out there.

Yea Ben should have helped himslef years ago, but coming from someone who used to be fat (becuase i was just a fatass) sometimes people do having eating disorders and stuff. The reason i cant feel bad for him is because he could have had a gastric bypass operation years ago. If he was that fat for that long then he obviously has some mental issues.
>>

Yes it needs more work and polish but still better than a static Vietnam flashback expression.
>>
>>185622330
Skin tight space suits have been possible since the 60s, space programs just went with the bulky suit designs because you want equipment that costs millions to build to be as one size fits all as possible.

If the Orion is hard to maneuver the Prospector could actually be really useful living up to its name.

Orion: "my scanner tell me there's lot of Unobtainium here, but I don't know which asteroid exactly, sadly I take a full minute to point my laser at anythings"
Prospector: "I've got it brother brother, I will quickly take sample of the dozen asteroid and tell you which one have the highest concentration"

Also, the Orion don't seem shaped to mine ore from planetary surface, from the look of it, it will be meant for surface base and maybe player built installation. If you have to take an entire base to mine stuff, you'll appreciate having a ship capable of prospecting.

I wish for SC to succeed at that at least, too many game only deal with mining as a power to levelup
>>
>>185629638
That stupid container system annoys me greatly.
>advertised as solo mining ship
>can only use 1/3 of its cargo capacity when running without an additional cargo ship

So how the fuck do I mine nickel to improve my weapons? Why the fuck isn't there a space amazon where I can just buy nickel? Or an auction house where players can mine and sell materials en mass?
>>
>>185630841
You need to use a SRV and search around on a planet for rocks that contain nickel.
>>
>>185630841

Use this https://eddb.io/body to find the closest planet with the highest nickel reserves and go driving your buggy.

pretty sure the main purpose of the "prospector" is to be a prospector. more suited to finding and IDing ore, or otherwise gathering varied ore samples and bringing them to a game mechanic that ID's ore

Anon, the old trope of ship that mine and carry the cargo is what's stupid.
It's a old gameplay made when computer didn't have power to waste on cargo that have volume.
There's no way you could do better without making the a metal core surrounded by container that will become heavier than the ship.
Realistically you wouldn't never have cargo on drill vehicle, the cargo is always carried by specialized ship, just like a drill ship don't carry the oil it produce.

With this design you could have other player or NPC running Hull-A or B to you with new box and sell more ore than you would in the time it take to carry it to base or other storage space.
Imagine it, you mine and cargo player pay for what you mine without needing to travel back or look for client yourself.
If CIG can get that to work this is progressive.
>>
>>185642843
Imagine if CIG doesn't only allow botting but creates and sells bots with ingame currency.

What's the advantage of an ASP over a DBE? I'm on a water world run and I have enough money to afford the former, but I'm wondering if it's actually a worthwhile change from the DBE.

It would work with two wheels and two sets of pedals.

Steering wheel one is yaw, the gas pedal is pitch up, brakes are pitch down.

Steering wheel two would be side mounted with a nigger knob to control vertical strafe, the gas pedal would be roll left, the brake would be roll right.

Ship functions spread across the shifters and other buttons.

This could work.

Im in mostly for space fighting which i know nms is weak, but the grind talk i hear about ed frightnens me a little. Also buying both the game a d the expansion is too expensive for me at the moment.

Would you say its doable playing them on a keyboard + mouse or a ds4? I saw some dudes saying that you shouldnt even bother playing if you dont have a plane joystick or whatever is called but I dont know if its true

I play SC and ED with kb/m without issue. Joysticks are nice if you want them, but they are perfectly playable without them.
>>
>>185745882
Arguably kb+m in E:D is the most efficient way to play. Your aiming is always more precise when you can do it with a mouse instead of fiddling around with a penis analogue. Hotas is max comfy though.

Humble store has E:D and NMS on sale atm.

Why aren't these shows ever delayed or late? If they want the community to do something for them, they're johnny on the spot. When it comes time to stand and deliver on something as simple as weekly progress, CIG gets too busy and "it's done when it's done".
They can go fuck themselves with this shit.

There is no difference. They could do AtV live as easy as they do these streams and show all the same clips. It comes down to what CIG's priority is. Editing AtV isn't important enough to hit a deadline, but making devs available to fuck around for a couple hours for something that won't make the game is important enough.

It's mostly safety concerns, bulky suits can self-seal if nicked just by having another layer of material behind the outer layer. Plus all the climate control they fit in & don't forget waste management. Then again that's modern tech not fictional late-2nd millennium SC tech. If it were up to me I'd do tight upper/helmet for ease of motion and loose pants with all the tech in them for an exploration suit. Fuck it just give me some ISRO designated EVA pantaloons.

It has its own client. Yes to Horizons if you want to take the game seriously. SC and ED are the two best handling games for space ships with kb/m, imo. Very different, but both are fully playable without cheating you.

>>185771619
I only play with Frontier's dedicated client so I can't say, but you should be able to activate the key on their website and ignore steam.
You don't need Horizons to play, the base game provides wows and stuff to do, only get Horizons if you fall in love with the base game.

CIG's PR is horrible

people like jared and sandi gardnier and ben lesnik are in charge of things, chiefly everything having to do with how anything is presented, sold, and showcased

theyve allowed speculation in the community to run rampant, and theyre suffering now when people are showing up expecting all this crazy magical miraculous shit because some dickweed on youtube or twitch was allowed to horribly misinform thousands of people

they are terrible with dates and timings. and until recently they were drastically overestimating their ability to actually develop their game within those estimates. \

Open dev is fine but you need to fucking control your backers and prevent their imaginations from running wild on media for over a year and being so misinformed to the point where people watch more community information than they do 1st party information.
>>
>>185778770
It's not bad, but in SC's case there's a massive problem with PR tactics as >>185780215 pointed out. Instead of actually delivering real talk they keep trying to constantly create hype around the most mundane shit.
The second part is the community. People who want to post reasonable criticism get driven out of all places CIG devs look at (those being their own forum and ribbit) and accused of being trolls/goons/literally derek smart by apologists of the worst kind, who believe that CIG can take as long as they want and everyone who thinks otherwise is an entitled kid. That leads to massive amounts of wishful thinking and speculation, both of which don't get shot down by CIG because they want to keep the hype alive in the months between updates.

From what we see of the devs in ATV, and my personal experience from visiting Frankfurt twice, the team is extremely passionate and actually enjoys working on the game and making everything come together, but Sandi, who's in charge of marketing, has absolutely no personal interest in the game itself whatsoever and only uses it as a platform to boost her "acting" career. She needs to go.
>>
>>185780215
>>185781447
I just don't understand the disconnect.
CIG hires the best Crytek engine engineers, talented game directors and artists, set up a global corporation with over 400 people, and left the social media and PR up to whoever was left standing around with nothing to do instead of putting appropriately experienced and talented people in those roles like every other department in the company.

Only reason Ben LardNeck was hired was because he happened to host some SJW wing commander fan-site and that's fucking it.
Then you got homeless santa who for some reason was hired, I guess he appeared to be funny to fucking Roberts with his "Disco Lando" horseshit.
THEN of course the fucking wife(??) of LardNeck would get hired too because why stop at one fucking 600 pound boulder with 2 support beams sticking out.
Finally we got the fucking whore Sandi who's only real goal regarding the SC project is to squeeze herself in between the cast of SQ42 to get noticed so that she supposedly can get to be an actor in Loliwood.
The list goes on but those are the shitty things that must be pointed out..!

That's what I keep getting hung up on. Chris says a totally not rehearsed thank you to the backers every week, but we still have not seen anyone sit down and play 3.0. Even though they have dev builds that we get glancing shots of, the backers still don't deserve to see the game they backed early to see the development of. It's so fucking ridiculous to not show a 10 minute game loop of someone running the most basic mission solo to demonstrate the new game parts and show them in use.
>>185782298

>small kinetic turrets
>small rax in medium hardpoints

Here's the basic shitter hardpoint loadout for a Cobra3:
2x small gimbal beam lasers in bottom mounts
2x medium gimbal multicannons in top mounts

Primarily use beam lasers against shields, add in some multicannon if you need to. Mainly use multicannons against hull, add in beam lasers as WEP capacitor allows because multis eat up nearly no WEP energy.
>>
>>185802978
Whats a gimbal?

So basically.
Use beams for shields then switch to multi cannons and fire away

Gimbals track targets in a small cone in front of you but aren't full turrets. You use these if you cannot into fixed weapons or on hardpoints with awkward placements. Turrets, especially kinetic, have a large damage penalty compared to gimbaled or fixed weapons.
Unless you're fighting another player with heavily modified defenses, the rule of thumb is thermal weapons defeat shields and kinetic or explosive weapons defeat hull.

>>
>>185802978
>>185804684
To expand on this: The reason you put kinetic weapons in the larger hardpoints is because ship hulls have intrinsic armor hardness values that counter the piercing value of a weapon. The larger or military-oriented the model of ship, the harder the armor. If the target's armor hardness is higher than your piercing, the damage you inflict is reduced proportional to the difference.
In general the larger the weapon the more piercing it has, and the weapon you're relying on to attack the hull should have good piercing.

How does it apply when the ship has an upgrade pass and a price raise?

I don't judge CIG by what they say, only by what they do. I was being sarcastic, but that was to maximize cheekyness. If you only look at what they actually do, shows where they expect feedback from the audience, like lore, go out like clockwork. Everybody gets the same 24 hours a day. CIG chooses to make getting things from the community a priority while leaving giving things back to whenever they have time.

Ofc it was. AtV and the production report represent CIG creating something. They feel no obligation to treat the backer's time and expectations with any respect. Why worry about deadlines when they just shit on their own community for weeks on end, and the backers just thank them for it?
Nobody is forcing them to go to a game convention instead of delivering their game. CIG is fucking themselves over.

If they hired professional PR expert, we would only get professional LIES. There would not be any false release date given but we would be kept in the same "soon" expectation and the advertising would be about deliberately overrating small features to tone down the speculation and expectation
That an easy way to never be caught under-delivering, always have better jpeg later.
They would close down what we see of the development, only showing a perfect world with minor bugs. Saying nothing we won't forget 2 years later.

In short the professional PR would target the stupidest part of a fanbase. Not giving unfiltered info to intelligent backers who can't handle the truth.

Still, after failing at it for the same reason CIG do now they would then ask a fee of 150 000 000 $ to bribe every medias they can find, or how even shit overrated game get exposure.

You guys' autistic screeching never fails to amuse me. They've spent the last few ATVs showing exactly the stuff they wanted to get into 3.0 that delayed it so much, the UI, and are now showing exactly how many bugs they consider necessary fixes before Evocati release. And all you can do is whine that they haven't showed 10 minutes of gameplay. They haven't shown that because they know the only retards screeching for 10 minutes of gameplay footage will just move the goalposts if they do that, and just screech more about delays and deception. Protip: Anything demanded by a majority of stealth goons on 4chins, is the opposite of what CIG will prioritize.

Why the fuck do they keep adding more features to an already delayed patch?
>>
>>185846336
Because I have a feeling that they suspect another massive delay for the next patch so they're adding features as they're completed to ensure there is enough gameplay to tide people over during the wait.
CIG has probably the softest feature lock in the industry.
I was hoping the delta patch would help improve that but I think it might not make any difference because with a game this big they actually can't run a live environment with constant updates because too many things break each time something new is added and they add new features to justify the wait.

Not really though. The original concept had the arms more or less completely retract into the hull, but now it seems that they're just folding a bit and get covered by that thing sliding out of the rear half. They still take up space in the front, but not nearly as much.
But even then, the front section of the Hull E alone is as big as an entire Starfarer, not taking the inevitable size increase into account. If you remove the space required for the arms you could stiff put a ton of shit in there.

Oh, so like last year when they delayed S42 again or early this year when 3.0 wasn't out in December like they said it would be? We just don't understand game development, guise. They have to tell lies and deceive us or they can't release the game. Don't ask me why. They lie when they don't have to and abuse good will like it is endless. They have the money already, what leverage would backers ever have?

and a game takes literally years to develop, unless youre activision and you just reskin the same fucking game again and again. SC has made seriously impressive progress for how little time theyve been working with a completed game engine and fully staffed team.

look for a release version star citizen in 5-7 years and adjust your expectations accordingly
>>
>>185864830
I was in an engineered asp that was hitting 48-50ly. If you are only going out to Sag A 32ly is fine. Did you replace your core internals with lighter modules?
>>
>>185864854
That's why a ship boycott would not work, too many whales. If want to kidney punch CIG, we would have to figure out how to fuck up their social media engagement. If an AtV got lore show view numbers, that would hit way harder than some keyboard protest against jpegs.

And as much as I enjoy shitposting with all you faggots, we could close the thread until evocati release. The very existence of this general implies support for CIG's actions. If /scg/ went silent, that would send a message too. It would be better if /edg/ came out of discord for a few weeks to carry the thread so it is up, but not discussing SC at all.

What CIG needs is 3.0 to fail. It's that simple. They've been in their safespace hugbox for way too long now.

If everyone shits on 3.0 (backers and major publications alike) then they'll cut the excess fat and set more realizable deadlines and goals.
>>
>>185865739
D class is the lightest. The max range for any ship is A rated FSD and D rated everything else.
>>
>>185865767
I did look over my shoulder to be sure.
>>185865836
It already has failed. Any project that misses estimates by a few months is bad. Missing it by a year should be catastrophic for anyone. They need to get their act together before the entire project implodes.
>>
>>185865739
>>185865864
Another thing to consider is to use 1D distributor as you won't be boosting while exploran in supercuise so you save a few tons there as well. Same applies to thrusters and powerplants, you don't need to take the highest class if a lower is available
>>
>>185865739
You wont need a shield generator, hard points or any utility mounts except a heat sink. For core internals you want to go down to the lowest class you are able to. In my asp I was running a 2A power plant and that worked out fine. You want to downgrade your thrusters, powerplant, sensors, and power distribution. Life support is up to you. What's your optional internals looking like?
>>
>>185866172

I really appreciate the tips. Would it be wise to go ahead and either remove my SRV hangar, maybe remove my cargo hold or downgrade it to a lower capacity and then add additional fuel? I find that often I'm hitting patches of stars that I can't scoop from and running low on fuel.

>>185866339
The best stellar body scanner, the high detail scanner thing, SRV hangar (probably can get rid of), 8 slot cargo hold (probably can get rid of) and then a few other things. I'm gonna get rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff once I get back to the bubble.

You wont need cargo bays when you are going out to colonia. You will want to grab a large fuel scoop so you aren't waiting too long at a star. You can filter out star classes on your galaxy map. The stars you can refuel at are K G B F O A M. And yes it is our elite discord. The link is in the OP.
>>
>>185867428
You can check on eddb.io to see if your destination carries a hangar. If they have a hangar, they have a scarab for it. If you don't absolutely need it, don't carry it. The only exception is an advanced discovery scanner which you should always have for traveling. The scan data can level engineers if you save it. Empty cargo holds don't carry a penalty, so you can carry one if you like.

To get the most out of scooping, open your galaxy map, go to the right tab, sort stars by Type and make sure only the following stars are selected OBAFGKM, also 'apply to route' needs to be checked. This will plot your route on fuelable stars only so you can scoop every time.
Advanced class: use a D rated shieldless Hauler, carry a 3B fuel scoop, and swap for a 1t fuel tank. You can fuel completely during the cooldown and jump without interruption, but it is super easy to fuck up.

The missions have variation for the most part and if you just take it easy and don't do stuff just for credits then you will have a good time. Be careful with powerplant downgrades. D graded is light but has poor heat efficiency, which can result in overheating when fuel scooping. Also because of the way weights are distributed among power plant types, the grade A of a smaller size is better on all fronts than a D grade of a larger size.
eg: 3A power plant is lighter, provides more power and is more heat efficient than a 4D.

I played the fuck out of MAG. There was a static amount of lag that you got used to in that game. Additionally, the map was set up where players were restricted to the areas they were supposed to fight so people could not pile up in an area. At most you would have 20 people fighting over one point.

> at least EVE can technologically support more than 100 players in an instance. in star shitizen you don't even get the option because muh BDSSE
Yes, thats not a technologically impressive feat when it slows time. Any game could do that, its just that EvE doesn't require inputs very often to do anything. Can't fly at 0.1x speed because it requires constant input. Unlike clicking a laser to fire at a target and letting it do its thing automatically while your ship orbits automatically.

Of course they do. Not that American internet infrastructure isn't 3rd world tier. Bandwidth has increased, but so has complexity.

EvE is a great game to have thousands of players because zero physics to calculate, no human inputs to communicate with 999 other people constantly (as you're not really in control of your ship so much as giving orders to it, which are batch processed) and you can slow time down to even further allow things to be processed in a timely manner.

SC on the other hand has so much simulated that they're struggling with a couple of dozen players, which isn't necessarily a function of the engine so much as the game itself. Its a different beast with vastly different requirements.

It's called feature creep. It has been happening since the schedule released and is why it is so hilariously behind now.
CIG has been lying for years and it shows in what they release. Each release is much less than people thought it was going to be. If they are going to have "open" development, then they should be open to criticism of their methods on an anonymous vietnamese hat making forum without trying to discredit an anon as their defense.

Which of CIG's words from the schedule do you believe, the part where they are adding, or the part where they say they may push features back? CIG doesn't even have a consistent message in their own schedule. How the fuck should I know why CIG puts retarded contradictions in the schedule? I would like to know as much as you.

Just this week:
>After a recent Director review of the moons, it was apparent that the moons felt a little unpopulated. To address this, we’ve added additional outposts to the moons to explore.
Adding more content.
>We are implementing a new fog system in the game to improve the overall feel in various environments such as ships and shops. In doing this, we need to convert the old fog volumes to this new system and do another sweep through existing lighting to ensure the new fog works with the lights correctly. This work is still being estimated out, so a fuller update should be provided next week.
More features.
>We’re aiming to complete Ruto’s initial setup in Subsumption today, but there will be further support needed from both Gamecode Engineering and Graphics Engineering after this point.
Initial setup. Come the fuck on.
>Tasks that delay beyond our target dates might cause the release of 3.0.0 to be delayed, or might be excluded from 3.0.0 if appropriate to maintain the release date target.
Which tasks? The ones the added this week or the ones still outstanding?

This,
Eve isn't a very demanding game, it doesn't even have a physic engine. combat are calculated in term of hit probability and sphere of influence, ship movement is also just a point moving in a 3D space with a mesh model based on it. Engine placement don't matter and it doesn't have much of a damage system.

SC however have a physic engine, ship have actual mass, actual inertia vector and they pushed it as far as calculating each truster separately (with funny consequences for ship that are unbalanced), it can have several source of gravity and so must deal with the transition. Even cheating with the details it have greater requirement.

So comparing Eve 1000 players blob to SC claim of having 64+ players in epic space battle is like comparing a still picture of a space battle with an actual space battle in Battlestar galactica

>>185877405
btw, simulation don't mean adhering to reality
It just mean creating a physic model with rules and running a simulation using only theses rules rather than disconnected script. ARMA do simulate a lot of things.
You should learn how these stuff work before talking about it

Reread the posts above. We don't believe that CIG is being truthful with the schedule and what their aims are. They can make the numbers on their blocker list be anything they want it to be and we should just accept that the same week they are introducing new features is the same week it could possible be released to evocati, based on what they say on spectrum.
False hype, lying about what their aims are to sell jpegs, and acting like people don't remember what they say they are going to do.

I think their idea is sound for how they want to structure the backend services. Being connected to multiple servers and peers for instancing is novel and will probably work. The issue is, instead of a tick tock where gameplay is moved to a new backend, and then developed from a core that is stable followed by gameplay being added to the new tech, they are doing a new core and new gameplay at once and they bit off more than they could chew.
It's not a question of whether the tech is possible, it's whether they can develop that much at once, or are we going to have Golden Horizon, only it's the entire PU?

I think we are going to use more explicit term if we want to discuss this.
To deliver the 3.0 demo CIG is doing a "fork" from the development build. It effectively isolate it as a distinct build and increase the work needed to keep 2 versions updated.
But this isn't new to game developers, they have API created to do just that and code is meant to be extremely modular.
That's why it was so simple for them to switch to Lumberyard.

CIG is building the foundation first, it doesn't help produce playable demo but it's much more efficient than trying to add features to a released game built with rushed foundation.
We have good reason to ask for this 3.0 tech demo, but this isn't ideal for development. They only need tester, yet we ask something playable.

Last thing: they are clearly sitting on a lot of contents, they won't/can't just add them because they depend of feature that are not finished enough to be playable

From the dev:
> Every ship in the Hull series is capable of making a planetary landing while contracted. Additionally, the Hull A and B may land while fully laden. The Hull C, D and E typically deposit their cargo at automated orbital yards before landing to dock (though they are equipped for the water landings favored on low gravity worlds.)
So yeah, you can't (and that concept pict can go to hell)

Myself I think it's a good idea, it make a nice limitation for the ability to move untold mass and it make the Starfarer important as good landing ship. We might even get a bigger argo for that.

What Star Citizen will be after Chris Roberts is finished with it, will be similar to what Freelancer was after Microsoft Studios got done with it.

Chris will claim he is "stressed" after the Minimum Viable Product, and "want to spend time with his family", and remove himself as the CEO. Then someone close in his family, beside Erin Roberts, will take over as the CEO, and keep Erin in his position as the constant #2, and he will die with this project while Chris had retired years before.

Screencap this, you'll be thinking back to this time in just a handful of years.

Its more to the fact that he was one of the leaders of Origin Systems, a company that employed many of the people who went on to make the game industry what it is today. While Origin was not a big deal out side of space sims it was very formative for a lot of devs who went on to do their own thing. Its kinda a world apart from Braben's self made programmer prodigy story. I don't think they are an apt comparison any way you slice it.

If Braben gets credit for the Raspberry Pi just because he's one of the founders, then Roberts gets credit for every movie he's been a producer for as well.

I personally don't mind having the option of solo flying a capital ship with an NPC crew, provided you have a limited number of crew you individually can hire, but you can rent out crew from other players.

This would keep the ratio of capital ships run on NPC crew more or less the same as increase in capital ships will just increase demand for NPC crew members on market, and in so doing increase the rental fees, making it easier for a new player to hop in.

Survival is hard for a first run. You need to learn some things first:

>sprinting while quickly meleeing and hitting jump pack quickly propels you forward (you can save some time this way)
>carbon from plants + plutonium creates a gel item to replenish your survival system (white bar, device with triangular waves). Also thamium9
>iron and platinum makes shield shards to replenish environmental protection (upper bar and suit icon on inventory)
>carbon and thamium9 refills your weapon
>you can take shelter and regenerate environmental protection in caves or dig a hole in resource clusters
>you can flee pirates as long as you enter the atmosphere before they arrive (or dock somewhere). You know this by watching a circular indicator filling on the left screen on the ship
>when traveling, look for systems with a high amount of planets and many moons. Odds are one of the moons is insanely rich in plutonium and thamium9, which is usually barren (very useful)
>your main objective is to rush the exocraft (get spadonium from radioactive planets, build a scanner device on the ground and check for biomes

I think its all there.

Back in previous versions you could literally get your first millions through station trading and dynamic resonators. I always got my first ship like this.

Now the whole trading system is fucked and you basically have the life of a miner, unless you are rich and self sufficient in warp cells.
>>
>>185938206
yeah, hardly made any progress since 2014, you are correct
>>
>>185938476

Its better that way. You can lay a shitload of extractors on plutonium, heiridium and whatever the fuck that crap required, get the plants in farms for the cells and then find out dank trade routes.

The game is interesting now, but grindy as fuck!

This is considered a perfectly valid solution in the future even for take off.
It allow you to use powerful nuclear engine and not destroy your landing site, it shield from radiation, you won't have to worry about uneven ground and if that's actual H2O water you can electrolyze it for propellant and oxygen.

In a Starwars like universe any exploration ship should come with it, a cargo ship as well since it help setting up somewhere

>NPC's don't have an FSD cooldown and highwake the fuck out of dodge seconds after interdiction
This shouldn't happen but lol ftroop. Literally doesn't matter though because disabling even a T-9 takes less than 5 seconds and high waking takes at least 10 to spool up.
>They dont stay disabled after you shoot out their powerplant just lmao start firing at you again
Harmless/mostly harmless targets don't reboot & repair so they'll just sit there forever. Higher skill targets will reboot the PP to 1% periodically which you can disable again instantly with a pulse laser.
>LOOT JUST DESPAWNS after a couple minutes
Your collector limpets should be doing the collecting so this never becomes an issue. You just need to keep the target from going anywhere and keep hatch breaking it until it's empty.
>>
>>185963785
>Harmless/mostly harmless targets don't reboot & repair so they'll just sit there forever.

Yeah good luck only fishing for harmless and mostly harmless. You'll have to attack the higher skilled ones at some point - there's definitely a random crit chance on powerplant hits because I've tried the 1% to 0 method and in a ton of cases the ship goes bang at 60% hull integrity or higher

>Your collector limpets should be doing the collecting so this never becomes an issue.

it does become an issue as limpets are not fast enough especially when you've cracked open one of the bigger ships
>>
>>185964409
There is a random chance yes with the ship going boom when power plant goes to 0%, I'm not sure if they disclosed the probability. Remember that this is an added feature to make fights last longer instead of ships going boom instantly when the power plant was destroyed. Try destroying the engines and then shoot the cargo hatch open.

No, it's literally gonna be:
>Citizencon 2016 Episode 2: $700 Jpeg boogaloo.

They're gonna sell 3.0 again, overhype everything, deliver nothing and the cultists are gonna thank them for it.

Fuck Sandi, Fuck Ben, Fuck Chris for playing along with them, Fuck Darkie Shart and most of all fuck the retarded drones who mindlessly lap it all up instead of offering constructive criticism and calling out bullshit when its obvious(Citcon'16-3.0 by yearend debacle) This farce keeps getting dragged out because theres a hypervocal subgroup of morons who think endless positivity and approval will make everything work out, and that everything will be Ok as long as they never acknowledge the obviously mistake, misplays and dishonesty. When its precisely their idiotic moon brained approval and the echo chamber it creates on both reddit and RSI/spectrum that gives the false appearance of acceptance of marketing bullshit, wildly speculative and impossible deadlines and whatnot. This shit keeps happening because the "fingers in ears LALALALALALALALALALA" of the cultists drowns out discontent and criticism to such an extent that CIG thinks what they have done is OK.

And I'm saying that as a week one Nov. 2012, fanatical backer who has $2100 in the pot. I want this game to eventually be the "BDSSE", and these delusional fucks are hampering that by licking the asshole of a marketing department they paid to create that is now shitting on them. Game dev takes time, but it does NOT need deception duplicity, hype campaigns and endless money grubbing.

So what will be the big jpg sale of gamescom, the 600i finally, or will they fail to even have that much creativity and just sell a new, more expensive Sabre variant that does some feature the original ship was intended to do?
>>
>>185977083
I'd say 600 for Gamescom and the Sabre Raven (if they haven't renamed it yet) at Citizencon because that's usually military themed. It's gonna be a stealth variant and they'll make up some bullshit to retcon that the original Sabre was supposed to be a stealth ship.
>>
>>185970889
When you start and select open, sometimes it puts you in your own instance until you make your first jump.
>>
>>185977574
Depends, if the Raven ends up a straight upgrade or actually has some trade off. I mean, if CIG would just have the balls to say "yeah, giving the second best dog fighter in the game steath would be horribly overpowered, so it was either nerf the Sabre, or make a weaker steath variant so you can choose which fuction you preferred" I'd actually be fine with that...

But that's not what's going to happen at all, it will be a 200+ dollar super Sabre and they'll double talk about the original ever having steath features, just like how the vanguard got split up into pricier variants

I bet there was probably at least 5 times they could have locked down the build and launched as is earlier in the year, but they kept thinking "Just wait a week and we can add this cool new feature that will have made the wait worth it"

Basically this, but replace "week" with "6-8 weeks"

will 3.0 finally have NPCs walking around the space stations and stuff? That's the most disappointing thing missing imo

Hard to say. They are still adding features, so maybe. Keep making suggestions.

Good point. I'd rather be poor than be a space cuck.

Well. Now that he mentioned, eve is really no less of a scam than SC. The game might not be out there yet in full release, but one thing is sure: player numbers apart, SC already achieved more than eve in alpha.

And before you troll, pls remember Dust and its failure.

Let's make a CIG Gamescom bingo.

I don't care about delays since the game is going to come either way but the communication is what gets me.

We'll probably see a bunch of 3.1-3.3 shit and it's going to be big flashy and exciting.
