8000 tokens of storytelling later and the final conclusion is that 'It's the best 70B storytelling finetune" but "It's nothing revolutionary."It felt like it showed the same general intelligence as any other llama 70B model, so it doesn't appear to be too effected by the finetune in that respect.In terms of storytelling I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of slop. Even though I literally used "fanfiction" as one of my tags, the writing was still quite good. If I allowed it to focus too much on sex it would stop describing the scene, the appearance of the characters, etc so it required some corralling, but way less than most other models, especially prior NAI models. On that note, it picked things up quickly and stuck to what I was trying to do. It would easily pick up euphemisms, and was very, lets say, genre savvy.In terms of knowledge it seemed so-so, needed to be correct on a handful of more obscure touhou related concepts. On the plus side, once it was in context, it was rock solid. It easily kept character traits, even with 5 named characters in the scene. Not a quantum leap or anything compared to other 70B finetunes, but still a pleasant surprise.There was one big surprise though, that being the author's note. It's really, REALLY good with the authors note. I would literally write out the summary of a chapter and it would hit all the beats. It would do character refusals, moral degradation, whatever I prompted. And it didn't feel forced or immediately done, it would work things in where appropriate. Very impressive.Overall, it's not going to set the world on fire or anything, but it's above and beyond the best NAI model, and arguably (with a very strong argument for it) the best storytelling finetune at the moment.

I am calling it for the night, its early morning and I have put enough hours in to have enough of a feel for this thing. Its Kayra, but heavy. Didn't they fluff a big model before too? Maybe NAI just cant into big models. The image gen will get me my moneys worth out of a months sub but yeah, I rate this thing a 6.5/10, its not offensively bad on the face of it but when you say "this is 70b, the second tier is 13b" it becomes a shocking comparison to make. For the price it become a 4/10 redeemed only by a still going strong image gen tacked onto it.

So yeah. Kayra is more creative, but also more nonsensical. Erato can be more creative, but becomes very unstable if you use dragonfruit or other presets which make it more creative. I expect community tuned presets or some clever biases to come out that functions a lot better than the defaults. It's what Kayra needed, so I'm not surprised.
Should we start a Cut4Kuru trend to protest the lackluster product we're being delivered? This model is barely worthy of tablet, let alone Opus.
