Forward air makes forward approaches in the air nigh impossible, and back air's inconsistency doesn't make reverse aerial rush much better. We all like our game to require skill, but in the edgeguarding department its just so painfully boring we'd rather just have braindead easy melee edgeguards where you live if you do the correct thing and you die if you do the incorrect thing in one edgeguard interaction and not 13 back to back edgeguard interactions that last 15 seconds every time. It's such a daunting experience and video games should be fun. I believe this is the same issue that prevented me from wanting to play Rivals 1 back when it came out. It doesn't really happen often, but I wish it NEVER happened.
