The only argument to be made is early BFA where both dominant specs really did bring a lot of valuable group utility. The few examples of metas in which there weren't huge gaps were seasons like SL S2 or DF S1 where there was a modicum of balance and most dps got brought in a completely reasonable split.

I'm just not a fan of the key squish. At the start you could easily +2 or +3 something then instantly get into booty blasting territory. The only key ranges worth doing are 4 - 8 - 10. On top of that the sweatlord meta is right next door to what you'd want your myth vault farming key and it bleeds over heavily.
