Honestly I'd come back and launch my own TF2 mod, but I don't give enough of a fuck to want to do it. If I did make a mod, it wouldn't be a retread of the last mod I created (TF2Classic), it would be something radically different. I've always wanted to try to make some sort of campaign mode. An RTS would be another idea I would pursue. Or some sort of small-scale MMO involving 100-player servers. And there wouldn't be pedos involved.Also, I'm gonna keep stating this, but all of these TF2 mods getting on Steam is going to be detrimental to them all down the line. They'll be competing for player traffic not just with TF2 itself, but with each other. Some of these TF2 mods will end up as dead as that other Source engine mod Nuclear Dawn.
To be fair, most standalone multiplayer Source mods are dead in the water no matter what. Singleplayer or unique ones (OpenFortress) stand out more than the slog of low effort "what if tf2 but old" mods that are coming out. It's early days for the new SDK so maybe in the future there will be more interesting shit but right now it's just everyone trying to do the most basic shit and nostalgia faggotry is in right now for the community so that's what people are doing.
