So why wasn't Spec Ops accepted as a story game? Metal Gear Solid was also a shooter, but it could get away with long scenes of characters lying to you, and tricking you into making the situation worse.
I'd actually posit that Spec Ops is just a bad game. Strip away the twist, and you're left with a painfully generic 2014 shooter where you fight muslims in a desert. If it was otherwise interesting, people would be far more willing to forgive the game tricking them, even if they didn't like that. But Spec Ops only has one trick.

I've finished Neither Cross Nor Crown.
Nice little game, about 5 hours long. The artstyle carries this game hard, especially cause the combat consists of luring enemies into charging you, hitting them and then backing out to lure them into charging again and the plot is very bareboned. I also have no proofs but i think the dev scaled down the whole project because while Level 1 and 2 are quite big and "open" Level 3 and 4 are just going from one side of the map to the other while while killing about 50 enemies.

Pretty much. This was one of the big three criticisms that the game received when it came out, and probably the most-deserved one.
The two others being that it was communist propaganda, and that the ending is disappointing since ultimately nothing changes: the CEO is still the same, management is still toxic, and LYNX still makes mad money off you. You just lost the debt. But writing in general in this game is pretty bad, like, your temporary overseer turns off a coworker's thrusters as she's drifting into the incinerator, and he still bitches that she sucks at yoga.

Different anon who hasn't played the non-EYE game, but EYE's lore dump isn't that bad. It's completely optional in the truest sense of the word, and it's convenient to have it all in one place rather than scattered throughout the game once you've played the game to the point where you actually care to sit down and read it.

yep, actually made a few modloaders with bepin on monomod. it would be easier to simply recompile the assembly-csharp to instantly return the method that's responsible for playing the dialogue sequences or to remove all method calls via symbol analysis.
i've got to wageslave soon but i'll try to help.
to setup a bepin monomod patch, you first have to set up the framework of the correct .net version (just paste it into the game root directory and run it once), publicize game's assembly-csharp, pass that publicized assembly to monomod's runtime detours hook generator, create a plugin template in visual studio, and then add the publicized assembly and hooks to references. the it's just the matter of writing the plugin itself, and it's pretty straightforwards with monomod as you can just hook to any method to get an event which is called every time that method would've been called in-game otherwise, and you have a convenient local delegate that you can call wherever inside of that event which executes the method in it's current state (which, depending on the mod loading order, can mean that you won't be working with the original method if other mods tinker with it too.)
generally, for writing mods that intend only to modify already existing behaviour, you should use ILHooks to directly transpile game's assembly's IL, as it's both cleaner and more performant, but if you don't have any IL knowledge you can just not call orig() method in the hooked event and copy the code directly from dnspy and the modify it.
i have experience with everything i've described here but working without having access to the code is difficult, so i'll try my best.

This is not a mistake anon, it's to highleight how that overseer doesn't see you, the worker as humans at all, but just a resource. A resource that he expects a return on. Having one of the workers end up like that, means literally nothing to him, because in his mind an event like that "just reminds everyone to work harder" and she has a spare anyway, so who cares about horrific accidents. He even early on insists that you don't need to learn how to use the explosives properly, because losing a spare life or two is the best teacher in his opinion.
A more valid criticism is while his total disregard for human life is a great criticism of capitalisms total disregard for human life, the fact that you have this "spare" cloning system, muddles it somewhat. Specially if a lot of players don't fact that if you're one of the clones, and you die, you're still just fucking dead, even if another clone with your memories is shat out. That doesn't change the fact that your existence fucking ends.

There teleportation just straight up kills you and creates your exact clone where you want it to. Sometimes multiple times per minute.
Guys who invented them go so socially conditioned to it that it became a social norm where nobody really hangs on to their current lives which led to a general carefree don't-give-a-fuck attitude. You die a dozen times per day, so who cares about any of this shit if your consciousness is here for a day tops?
There are also laws for how to handle failed teleportations where both old body and the new clone both survive. Legally they have 10 minutes to decide who gets to live, and one of them gets a full right to murder the other, but if they both survive for longer than that - clone is treated as a separate person. So people just kinda live with a general idea of who they want to keep alive in case teleporter fails - their new or old selves.

Unless I can find a way to unlock the menu navigation during a Speech in the code (and hoping it doesn't break anything), the second best bet appears to be changing the SpeechLength struct member of every relevant TriggerableSpeechData MonoBehavior in narrative-dialogue_assets_all_0b7ba947206a69b68af2abc2aec346ed.bundle (undocumented UnityFS 5 format). Which should signal the event system when the sound byte is expected to be over.
The 200MB English(US).pck AKPK appears to be a raw byte archive with nothing but RIFF Wave audio files.
The AudioService class' parameter naming scheme suggests that there is a CSV file of all dialogue, but I could not find any; it's probably configured inside the unity editor itself as a node.

Unrelated,
I didn't see any traces of a ship editor. I suspect BBI have assembled every ship directly in the Unity scene editor.

Funny thing, in a space setting it'd be really easy to justify this by making the living spaces smaller. The communists could be with you in the pod, and there might genuinely not be enough room inside to get away from their speeches. And you couldn't skip it, because they would notice you ignoring them and get angry. If you snap and kill them, you get a non standard game over.

Oh, you're one of those that thought the first few random 'literally whos' that invade you as your reputation rises just to keep you on your toes on the easiest difficulty setting is "90% of the game". That's like getting bored of Mario because you can handle 1-1 by jumping on the Goombas.

Great:
None of them lol china can't into balance

Okay:
Raksasi: Fun top down roguelite, pretty basic but functional coombat. Bad metaprogression though

Medliochre:
Gunfire:
Infamously too easy. No meaningful randomization. All guns feel meh. DLC chars universally broken. Feels okay to play thougher

Blooty Spell:
Switched genres entirely after release and you can tell. Very simplistic enemy AI. 3D action game. Feels good, is pretty objectively meh


Icey:
Very weird game. Complete failure so much the dev patched in a "whine my game failed" room and ending. Combat is super heard or easy depending on how you build and never feels balanced. Execute mechanic is so jank it doesn't function correctly in two different games (she somehow got in entropy effect like a decade after her irelevant releae)
Carried and also ruined based on how much you like or hate its schizo narrator's rambling and attempts to railroad you

Portia:
Just not for me, its ugly and I'm french so I hate ugluy things
Le bad:
Sands of Salzaar: Action/strategy combo attempt. Both sides are half-baked. Also way too easy. Very little control over your armies makes it easy to just solo everything yourself

Cult story reincarnation:
Also a victim of the "too easy" train. You can do something like 5 billion damage a hit and heal for 1% of that in a game where your hp is in the hundreds. It becomes impossible to die.

Red Obsidian Remnant:
Weird 2D DMC roguelite kind of thing. The "round trip" move trivializes the game.

RainBlood (this has a sequel coming up which looks neat):
"le too easy" strikes again. Your counter moves do 9999 damage baseline. One character teleports directly onto enemies on counter. Also a 2D DMC wannabe.

I think here it hits especially hard, because it's one of those rare games where you want to throw away all your preconceived notions of what video games are and enjoy it in a sort of vacuum.

Playing Dying Light 3. It's good to have Crane back, I like his voice. But his motives are a bit lazy for the plot of the game, but at least makes sense given the fever dream that was the DLC in DL1.
I'm sad that they have removed all skills to almost nothing, and you can't grind parkour or combat skills, which makes doing everything feel worthless. Call me an addict, but seeing numbers go up whenever I do an action and get slightly better at that action at reaching X points tickle my monke brain feeling good part.
Also it seems that you can repair weapons rather cheaply(I only reapaired starting weapons). Haven't found many, so I don't know because it is a new change in philosophy. Few but valuable weapons, instead of like last 2 games in which I used whatever weapon I had and never bothered upgrading, because they broke and it was either impossible or near impossible or not worth it to repair. Gotta play more than 15 minutes to make a judgement.
We also have little small towns instead of skyscraper, which was the worst part of DL2 and the part that filtered me and made me stop playing it, not once but twice.

This time parkour isn't stamina gated, which was retarded, so now I can hang off a ledge whatever time I want instead of a few seconds. Still need to test how upgrading weapons work, grinding materials, and other stuff works. The combat is the same as DL1 and 2, wapon hits feel good and the "Beast Mode"(not joking, is the name of the skill) is pure RIP AND TEAR. Which is dumb violent fun, which again tickle that part of my monke brain and makes it feel good.

I need to play more than 15 minutes, and see how the open world is and unlock safe houses and check out the night mode. But it seems it has improvements on DL2, more similar to DL1. Which is good. I played and did all side missions of DL1 like 4 times, and in max difficulty like 1 or 2 times.
I just hope we get more charismatic characters like in DL1, instead of boring lesbians like in DL2.

Also you get special Beast Mode skills when you kill bosses in the form of injectable booster, because of some pseudoscientific mumbojumbo. The girl that rescued Crane said that you don't NEED all the boosters, only enough "to feel strong enough to take the Baron".
Maybe there's alternative endings if I use all boosters and unlock all Beast Mode skills? Or just saying I don't need to hunt every single last mini boss?

Also it turns out that you could skip the mission, I just had to hoof it ninja style across the map to the only fucking safehouse that I had unlocked, because for some fucking reason there's no bed in the townhall that I just helped save.

I was really looking towards Wilds, even if I knew my PC couldn't handle it(it ran 20-25FPSs with MHW and the optimization mods). Now that I have a good PC Wilds turned out to be doodoo and I doubt Capcom is gonna keep giving it much support.

Bought and finished My Little Puppy in about 5-6 hours. This is the kind of game I wanted Stray to be. It's not perfect, but all the different challenges (simple as they are) make it an entertaining story to go through. It almost felt like a bite-sized It Takes Two-type experience, just single-player. The dev team is Korean and owned by Krafton, I hope it does well enough for the studio to stay alive.

Because I like the idea of the game and the gameplay loop is fun, it offers interesting mechanics and meta progression in a innovative and fun sci-fi setting.
It probably is even better in multiplayer, where you can specialize in a particular skill set and fullfill a role in combat and in the economy of the game. But alas I'm not much of a multiplayer guy, so I haven't looked for a group to play it with. But one day I will.

I dropped Valheim because the combat was too hard and boring at 10 hours. Will give it another chance when it is out of Early Access.
I don't have a hour counter for Vintage Story but I must played over 100 hours of it over the last 3-4 years, specially modded. Vanilla is now too simple for me, I crave more but development is slow and doesn't have as big modding community as Minecraft(which I have thousands of modded play time in).

Dragonwilds looks too much like a soulless openworld survival crafting slop for me to even consider playing it.
It doesn't look like it offers anything new or exciting. Just generic European medieval fantasy slop in openworld survival craft format. It seems to be leaning hard on RS nostalgia/following/fans to carry it. And I never played RS so I don't have such things as nostalgia/fandom to make me play it.
Hell, the whole Steam store page is about how good the other RS is and that they promise this game will have similar elements. Again I haven't played RS, and at facevalue it looks like boring unimaginative grift to get the money of the people falls on the convergence of RS players and openworld survival craft players.

You have two modes. A pure roguelite timed based mission mode and a pure open world infinite time mode in which you can do infinite missions. Your character has skills and gear that serve as meta progression as it can be used repeatedly in the roguelite missions and open world.
In the last few years devs have been porting to the open world mode practically all the roguelite missions. And the open world mode has special grinding missions too.
The last DLC adds new bosses with exclusive gear to craft as hunting missions too.
There's two other DLCs with new maps with new features. One of which has a "no map zone" for example, in which you have to do special missions, and a new end-game goal slash resource. They each have new and different bosses, alien life and Earth-based animals. And even new meta progression.

Well. One of the mechanics are food buffs. You can have up to 4 food buffs and 1 candy buff(candy isn't considered food, also you can unlock a skill for 5 active food buffs or stronger vegetarian buffs). And for combat is almost mandatory to minmax them. Specially if you plan on taking down bosses. Food buffes effects are huge(like four times starting health), and depending on your combat build there are food dishes that give more ranged or melee bonuses. So mid to end game it pays a lot to have a prepared menu for combat and another for crafting/gathering/farming matts. Which will depend on your skill build too.

The cap is 100. You are in a low level area. You can dispatch a level 14 wolf with one shot of a short bow and stone arrow to the head. Or one or two stabs of stone knife to the head.
Also you can run far faster than all the hostile animals in Olympus. Even faster if you bunny jump. Yes bunny jumping is a viable way of moving when you don't have a mount. And even then it is mostly faster than a maxed out terrenus/horse.

Anyway, I fixed the graphisms a bit, but it becomes extremely blurry when I move, so... not perfect.

Don't pick up crops unless you are gonna use them/get seeds out of them.
Also there's an icebox, a fridge and freezer. I generally go directly to the freezer and don't bother with the icebox or fridge. But I don't bother with food until I "tech up" my base to tier 4.

I could run it fine in my 10 year old rig but had to tweak all the settings down.
By the way, if you are in Open World(and it looks like it), mark down somewhere off game all the Deep Vein mineral deposits, as they are the most efficient way of getting ores long term.
Also craft bandages and suture kit with the first few bones you get, and always carry them on yourself. You do need them as basic medkit for bleeding and deep wounds. You can also one shot almost all neutral animals with the short bow and stone arrows. But I do advise to upgrade to bone arrows and long bow.

Forgot to mention. Turn off in Gameplay options Fibrous plant respawn and Large stone respawn, they both respawn grass and stone rocks and is annoying when you want to clear out an area for your base. Also disabling the kill cam is good too.

On an unrelated note, I started a game of Necromancer Tale, and the writing look good, also love the aspect that you have to make your own journal notes, as the game just write the first details and you have to keep track of your own progression. Feel refreshing from the more common handholding.

not having different realms and different sets of enemies is the only thing I disliked about black labyrinth. Its a DLC, so I guess its fair and I never expect anything different, its like a single new realm that is just longer than others.

Amid Evil is kind of a "empty" barebones game and the different realms helps keeps things fresh, BL is just the same enemies everywhere and kind of the same vibe, but the map design, by itself, is still good, if not even better than the vanilla. The length is good for a DLC of a FPS game. I think it was worth.

So, interestingly, You do not have to purify water to make it into coffee. So if you cannot find any charcoal to make a purifier but somehow have an abondance of tea/coffee, you can make clean water out of these.
I still have no idea how you're meant to find water in the desert or the canyon, but still, it's nice that there are several ways to get clean water.

Also in snow biomes you can melt snow into clean water.
But anyway living on a desert biome isn't really viable as there's very little wood. Missions there are a chore because of all the wood you need to get and how hard it is.

It doesn't when you are doing the roguelite missions and have a timer and have to survive in harder biomes with stronger weather and far stronger hostile animals. The starting area in Olympus is the exception. It's more intense in Styx and Prometheus. As they are the hard and far harder DLC maps and expect you to know the game and have the metagear and skills.

Yes you do.
Granted that almost everyone that played from the start has a toolkit of workshop tools, but I started on Styx and Prometheus with just an upgraded suit, a backpack, 2 weight reducing modules, the cool water canteen and a oxygen tank. No weapons, no tools. But I barely played the DLC maps anyway. Grinded so many Extraction missions thinking it was the way to get Exotics, when it turns out that now the meta is Open World.

The whole reason and plot of the game. Prepare for mini lore dump.
The UDA(United Development Agency) is a kind of Earth government/group that was formed after a climate crisis almost killed humans. They began the terraforming of Icarus(that's why it has Earth looking plants and some Earth-based animals, but some like the terrenus are DNA hybrids), but halfwaythrough it failed due to unknown reasons. The reasons turned to be "Exotics". Almost magical materials that allows to build incredible tech.
It started a goldrush under the UDC, with several corpotations chipping in to do stuff. Earth sent "prospectors" down to Icarus to mine the Exotics and bring them back home. But prospecting Icarus is very dangerous, the failed terraforming made have crazy weather that can destroy almost anything, and that coupled with the planetary aligments with the only space station where prospectors live, is the reason why there are no permanent settlements on Icarus(everything is spae station based), and why it began as a time-based roguelite mission based game. Also some BS about contamination and quarentine, that's why you can only reuse and bring up to the station "workshop item". The metaprogression gear that you can bring between missions that is bought with either Ren(the currency you get rewarded by doing missions), mined Exotics or both of them.

Later due to player demand devs made the Open World mode, and they have been adding practically all the roguelite missions to the Open World mode. I started playing before Open World, and only had like 3 long term bases in Open World, two in Olympus and one in Prometheus. Though I have never mined the red Exotics that Prometheus adds.
Wasted a lot of time repeating low level missions that took hours for a meager Ren or Exotic pay, when I could have done Open World and get like three times more in Exotics and Ren.

Been playing Void War obsessively for the last month. In some ways it's a carbon copy of FTL (you get the same basic systems, reactor power juggling, even upgrade prices are largerly the same) and the same gameplay loop. It improves and iterates on a lot of things though - heavy focus on crew and boarding (no crew limits, a lot of spells, abilities and equipment), no "I win" systems like cloaking and hacking.
Really well made difficulty curve - easiest one, Normal, is more forgiving than FTL's Easy, and then it goes up to Torment 12 with each torment level cutting down scrap rewards or improving bosses or giving regular enemies more crew and firepower.
Ship balance feels better than in FTL as well, you won't find trash coinflip ships like Zoltan C or Stealth B here. Picrelated me on probably the worst ship in the game, Ancient A - starts with double missile bay instead of weapons, kinda like Rock A, you are hard pressed to stabilize your run before you run out of missiles. Beat Torment 12 on second try, lost the first one to stupid misplay, got hella lucky with good crew and easy final boss (there are three final boss variations atm, another big difference).

Finished Eriksholm. Besides the main characters who talk to themselves, it's great if you think of it as a glorified puzzle game. But with how consistently professional the voice acting is, I find it a huge shame the devs didn't have the budget for more fully produced cutscenes. They're few and far between. It might be the best example of UE5's uncanny valley metahumans I've seen, yet most of the time you're just watching story scenes play out from the isometric perspective; mocapped but no facial animation.

After playing through it again, the story is just extremely poorly delivered and thought through.
The corporation is supposed to be pure evil but generally seemed surprisingly reasonable, with the debt contract given to workers being so laughably easy to work off that, if each 15 minute shift is assumed to be one day, any shipbreaker that isn't as comically incompetent as kaito should easily be debt free in at most a couple months, definitely not the YEARS the gaggle of total fuckups that are your coworkers have been stuck there for.
The catalyst for the union conflict flaring up in the first place is being sent a mustache twirling caricature of a corporate overseer that dogs on your coworker kaito. Going by in game dialogue from your own coworker manager, kaito's audible clownery over the comms, and the personal experience that it's extremely hard to fuck up reactor extraction enough for it to melt down and that I've never actually had it happen to me one time across every single ship I've salvaged, kaito shouldn't even be working there in the first place, he's a genuine idiot that seems unsuited to any sort of labor that requires a functioning prefrontal cortex.
The union conflict and its negative consequences for everyone seems to have also probably been completely avoidable if your coworkers had a single diplomatic bone in their bodies or thought in their heads and played along a little instead of outright threatening to kill a superior over open comms and organized union activities openly through the company email system.
The resolution to the union conflict doesn't even meaningfully change anything, it effectively amounts to "the unionist heroes yelled at the evil corporate stooges and won, everyone lived happily ever after".

Shit, real life companies have done exactly that for less. They hired mercs like the Pinkertons to roll up on worker's strikes and gun them down in drive-bys. Workers would beat their bosses bloody with whatever tools were on hand if they were sent over the edge. It was a straight up war at points and unions were a compromise to stop the violence. Even now, some corps will shut down entire stores if they catch even a whiff of unionizing.
The devs wanted to tell a story on labor rights, but everything is so deeply sanitized from how ugly it was, despite allegedly being far worse than reality, that it's ironically more corporate than being anything with any actual conviction. I'm not saying you make the player have to smash their supervisor's face in with a wrench, but do something beyond 'ask politely with the Power of Friendship'. In a world where a single company owns your body and soul, and can throw away the lives of you and your next 17 clones just to loot an extra half-full fuel tank, a good writer can explore how fucking abhorrent yet entirely mundane that situation could be. Instead, themes are secondary to the Plot. The universe resides within the Plot, not the other way around. You are to listen, not experience, because this is a carnival ride, not an easter egg hunt. Once the Plot is finished, so are you. Anything outside the Plot is irrelevant and unneeded.

Yeah, the Narrator is annoying. He gets somewhat less annoying as the game goes on as there are some hints that the comedian persona is a fake and is tricking you somehow.
The progression is kind of fucked. From the beginning of the game incentivize you to go as slow as possible. But it only progresses when you go through gates so unlocking new features takes forever if you go slow. My suggestion is go full steam ahead once you get a couple of loot catchers.
Don't worry about missing loot, because they are infinite.
Don't worry about minefields because repairs are cheap and at least you'll use your overflowing resources for something.
You can slow down a bit after the all the POIs are introduced, but they only award you more resources, so it's not a big deal to miss them.

You need to use a thing called a Thumper that you need to power and protect, as it spawns a miniboss worm with some smaller normal worms. That's why you want to mine with the highest tier pickaxe you have from the start, and write down where deep veins are located. Otherwise you have to move farther and farther to get ore.
Also you have part of the map locked I think(never started a character in Open World), you need to unlock them with missions, to get to their ore and Exotic deposits.

Since this is the same technological level than a crossbow, BUT it doesn't require iron unlike the crossbow, I expect an improvement in stopping power, but for the longbow's main appeal to be its range.

If you want to cheat even more, there's now a website that tells you where and what type of deep vein deposits you current Open World map has. https://icarus-deeporescanner.netlify.app/
Or you can craft the Deep Vein(tier 4 iirc) scanner and go walking around.
As I told you before, mark off-game where and what kind deep veins you find, and when you can, drop a miner there. Much more efficient than cave diving and using the Thumper.

I guess because devs thought that everyone and their dog had unlock all the blue prints and had like a hundred BP points sitting over(you get more BP points even wen reached cap level, dunno at which point they stop giving you more points).
Anyway, I don't think you have the tech level to mine Exotics yet, but you can use ren to buy seed packages from other biomes and cook other foods. Also pets and livestock like chicken and cows.

I've been spamming the missions where you repair a hut and place a beacon near it, because you can keep the beacon later.
And you can mine exotics with a stone pickaxe, but not deep veins, only nodes that you find in caverns.
For around 10-11 exotic per nodes, yeaaaah, I'll start mining ASAP.

Those are Orbital Workshop items. They can be re-utilize in other maps/missions. They are one of the two ways of meta progression. And they are expensive as fuck, because again, the game was suppose to be a roguelite-mission based game.
But the consumable Workshop items like seed packages are cheap. And when you upgrade the mission board, you can do missions that give a lot more Ren. You can turn Exotics into Ren as you can see.

The meta seems to be now to run Open World on easy, and exploit Exotics for both Exotics themselves and Ren.
Red Exotics are a DLC Prometheus thing. Which have exclusive Workshop gear too.

But in general, one of the main goals of the game is getting Workshop items, to help to run missions faster. Even if on average tier 4 craftable gear is superior to Workshop gear(but not always). As I said, it was one of the reasons for it when the game was roguelite-mode only. As it let you skip teching a lot, or make it a lot faster to complete objectives.
You don't know how many times I had to make a 3x3 wooden base to do roguelite missions.

Worms that fire poison at you from afar? Check.

Open World are the persistent mode that players wanted. You are thinking of the roguelite mission mode. You go to the pod to come back to the space station with your workshop gear for other Open World map or to do missions.
Also all the non Workshop items get deleted when you use the pod to come back to the station.

Orb of creation has an extremely slow development, even for the genre. To give some context, NGU was released in 2018, 4G had a major burnout in mid 2020 and the ending update was in summer 2021. In the same time span, orb of creation received a total of 0 mainline updates.

Well this is annoying. In Icarus, you can "cheat" by buying high-tier equipement but you need tier 4 stuff to actually maintain it, so either you consider it expendable and buy new ones constantly, or you make your way to the energy-dependant repair bench.

It's expected to make very little progress in your first hours, I wouldn't worry too much, just try to learn something new from every run. If at first it's mostly luck that gets you through the hardest parts of the dungeon, with enough knowledge you'll breeze through it no problem.
The main tips for newbies is to avoid taking needless damage and to carry a water flask to douse fire on yourself and the environment, and there's no need to set everything on fire, also you can use a tablet as a throwing weapon, it's very effective early on.

And yeah Cross Blitz is very good imo, it rips off hearthstone and inscryption in a lot of the mechanics but as a whole it has it's own identity. If you like story stuff it has RPG stories for the 5 factions, but it has a massive dedicated STS-style roguelike too so you might like it better than Griftlands in that way.

It does but it ends up feeling lacking because a lot of the game was built around having those story beats, you can tell it's a situation where the quickplay was tacked on but lost a lot in the process. a lot of the fun systems like relationships and events just don't work when you hop from fight to fight in quickplay.

I don't want to have to skip through pic rel every run, but I also don't want quickplay to cut out most of the choices and leave me with 98% battles.

yeah people are autistic about this shit. it's your game bro, just play however is fun, including mods if you need to. just obviously don't brag about beating noita or being good at noita if the way you play uses mods to make it easier, and nobody relevant cares.

personally I'd put on a mod to try to make it easier if the alternative is dropping the game, and then once I'm better at the game from practice I'd uninstall the mod and get used to the intended difficulty.
