Dogmeat in 4 is really annoying, he's cuter but even dumber than he already was in the rest of the games. Constantly going out of his way to swerve in front of you and get in your way, never stays still so you can trade, plays sfx from scratching on terrain or rolling around like a dumbass or scratching himself CONSTANTLY, all presumably to ensure the doggo always has the player's attention by doing something hecking wholesome/totes adorb while they're waiting on an enemy to appear.I'd almost be able to handwave it as all the dogs you can find being canonically dull for one reason or another (IE the original running into a forcefield because he didn't know how to wait or 3's needing to be patched in with replacement puppies for when the junkyard one inevitably dies or gets teleported off the map) but the storyline in 4 actually hinges off how clever that dog is, you hit a brick wall and his tracking abilities are the only thing that moves the plot forward. I just do not like to use him, which seems at odds with everything the developers intended with his design.

so I was getting tired of the radio beeping in the tampico theater, I found one speaker and used console commands to kill, that did nothing so I tried zap. once you zap it the beeping gets faster and doesn't stop no matter how far away you get. and then when you explode, even when it loads you in your last save before doing that, it continues to beep and explode you. the game actually punishes you for this.

Nuka world is nowhere near as polished as Far Harbor was it mostly serves as a glorified dungeon crawler but you larp as evil for some reasons breaking the entire character narrative the basegame set up. Honestly comes across as a passive aggressive remark from Bethesda for the criticism of not being able to be "evil" in FO4.
