>>545510907Kimi K2 Thinking got released today and apparently it's really, really good, at least for general purpose tasks. How much it's good for storytelling is TBD but the non-thinking version was already pretty good so it's worth paying attention.
>>545510907No clue but Wayfarer could be trained and quantized with all the degen coomer/gore/sound effect slop shit to make something absolutely gem of an LLM. Really, this is what needs to happen. It would make roleplays just that much more funny.
Have NAI and Sage fixed GLM slop yet?
No but deez nuts are fixed

>>545513995Now the fat mormon and his vulture stooge overcharge their customers to stay afloat. Their excuse is still muh power users I'm sure.
>>545515150I do have to wonder what the internals look like for latitude. All the services had sporadic and at times lengthy down times, but mormon seems to be having several issues on a near daily basis. >>545522956I have to assume there's probably some amount of wards or similar preventing some things. Despite the idea of going into a broom closet to make out, or the Room of Requirement that can be whatever someone wants, or even any of the empty classrooms, there wasn't one mentioned instance of an accidental pregnancy. Unless they lace the food with potions to prevent that sort of thing (or possibly libido lowering ones)?
>>545522454Adventure with Magical Hags.
Are there any theme-specific tropes you noticed the AI love to pull out in your stories? If you write a story about two siblings, it loves to have one of them do the whole "Hey, remember that time..." reminiscing about their shared past. Which makes sense, since siblings will at times do that IRL and it's a convenient way to expand on the characters, but the AI resorts to it often enough that it still turns into a cliché.
>>545525769When I’m writing pulp fiction kind of stuff it really likes to take a random NPC and have them be somebody my character has always known, but we are just now seeing for the first time.I’ve had a lot of random tavern NPCs become partners we are just now talking about
Is there a way to remove the spellcheck for a single word? It like having it on but it's highlighting a name and it's pissing me off.ALT + C as well as the option in the menu just give the option to disable or enable it altogether.
>>545527385could try adding that name to your browser/extension's dictionary so it doesn't flag it as an error
>>545528003That worked, thanks.
>>545525769When I write comedy stories, the AI likes to put in nonsensical gags about how the protagonist isn't wearing any pants in a public setting. For example, I once wrote a vignette about a character boarding a plane and apropos of nothing (there was no prior indication he was undressed) it said "fortunately, my pantlessness didn't cause any problems with airport security".
>>545525105Give me the haggest hag you haveNo that's too haggy

>>545546756I hear a bell, it goes dingle dingle dingle.
I keep finding new autistic obsessions that I need to pay attention to when writing the story. Now I can't write a story set in a modern house anymore without first searching up pictures of houses with accompanying floor plans and making sure the story aligns with them. My brain won't let me not give a shit.
>>545547003Writing? You're using an instruct model. You aren't writing anything.

Does Claudefag not know how to prompt? Nobody who prompts would argue an instruct model can't continue an output as though it were a segment of a story it continued from.
This is what Sage understands as good writing by the way. I think he lost himself too much into his "I want purple prose" mentality that forgot to check the slop
>>545551338How is the given example purple?

>>545559525That's fucking hilarious in itself. All over some made up universe created with the sole purpose of getting a bunch of smelly fujos to flick their beans.
>>545559961Well, there's worse out there for the purpose of someone getting off to it. This, at least, can be halfway harmless.
>>545560240Yeah. Also did you know that futa is just mens' sinister plan to destroy the female identity by adding a penis? It's very sexist. Lol.
>>545560529The ideal futanari has the full package. It's gender erasure to have it just be a woman with a penis, no balls, and no vagina.
>>545524786Every child in Wizarding Britain has a charm placed on them so the Ministry knows whenever they use magic.
>>545560726And that ties into the ideals of communism because it devalues the concept of the penis by sharing it with the opposite gender. Futa enjoyers are going down a dangerous path that could lead them to being anti-capitalist, and therefore anti american!
>>545559961I don't think it's a coincidence that the tumblr community in the 2010s also had the most prolific creators and consumers of erotic fanfiction
>just did an alternate bad ending where the protagonist in my story wakes up in a hospital and finds out everything that happened in the story, all the memories and the happiness and people she loved were all just a coma dream, plus her sister is dead, and the AI expertly paints a horrible portrait of absolute misery, grief and depression I couldn't even come up with myselfWhy do I do this
>I like it when you're stiff. Are tween characters really this obviously horny-coded nowadays?
>>545565629I mean if you're writing smut the AI is going to make every character horny.
>>545565927This came out of nowhere, nothing in context related to sex, just mischievous prankster vibes.
>>545566108That's definitely a joke I heard a lot in 5th grade, depends on the context. I don't read "young adult" fiction anymore so I don't know if it's common these days, but I would be surprised. The AI is probably just used to writing "mischievous tweens" that way.
>>545564992Now make her wake up again, but waking up from the coma dream was just a dream.
>>545567083I've got something mischievous 'tween my pants.
>>545520306Doesn't the magical/mythological being rule apply here? (They are not humans since they are magically empowered characters. uh-oh, either your argument about fucking a loli goblin sticks with this one or you are going to go into the gooner jail!)>>545524786Why wouldn't the fuckers know abortion spells? Pretty sure their abortion practices would've been discreet with the infirmary just aborting their unwanted pregnancies.
>>545559525As a stemfag, I always gotta wonder what humanities "research" is like. I imagine it starts similarly: you read a bunch of shit, mull over it, then get a hunch something might work. But from there in stemworld you have to turn your hunch into something concrete, and adjust if it doesn't work out, whereas for this kind of thing it seems like the goal is to just improve your rhetorical ability so that you can convince others your initial hunch was correct.
>>545567083Wait, in what context would a 5th grader say "I like it when you're stiff"?
>>545569226A very simple joke made by kids(mostly boys) first starting puberty, did your class not have dirty jokes? My class had to have the vice principal come in and tell us not to laugh during our first sex-ed class.
>>545569226Funerals.
>>545568992I think some theories in fields like history or sociology can still be somewhat falsifiable or applicable to the real world. But I guess unlike physical sciences, there's a bigger risk of floating off into the clouds and creating elaborate theories and frameworks and circlejerking about them for decades. Kind of like pure mathematics, but with much less logical rigour to keep it contained and consistent.
>>545569623Before sex-ed classes from where I was from we were already making dirty jokes and using words like "pussy, fuck, bitch, hoe, slut, N-word, all the racist slurs etc." in 00s. Zoomers don't have a thing on us.
>>545569623But what's the joke? Are you at a funeral like >>545569636 and talking to the body? Do you say it after some kid says their back is stiff?
>>545570224
>>545568992Typically, field research and interviews.
>>545569854>fields like history or sociologySure, I have respect for those fields, and you actually have data you can go to for both - primary sources, statistics, etc. I guess I'm talking about the more literary/arts criticism type stuff like what that pic was showing.>>545569854>Kind of like pure mathematicsShhhh, infinity topoi will be useful, just give us a few decades (or centuries)
>>545570224>Do you say it after some kid says their back is stiff?Sure? Or something like >Dude, our teacher is being so stiff with this worksheet>Yeah I bet you like it cause you're gay
any cool ideas for an AIR protagonist gimmick? I was thinking of having him be able to hear other people's thoughts + a related status bar that makes him go crazy depending on exposure
>>545571429How about the ability to see people's auras which cause him to see hallucinations and shit? (Different colors = different emotions.)
>>545568992former humanities student, in my experience a lot of it is like "(X writer) had (ABC opinions), here's why he's a dumbass/he's super fucking right actually. here's my proof I understand what X is discussing to begin with, here's the points of my argument and my evidence for what I'm arguing, probably including (work from different branch of humanities) or (things from other fields, maybe neuroscience, maybe econ or history or something in social sciences) that I think is relevant and develops my argument further for (Z reason)". Part of it is about being able to convince people of your argument, but part of it is about learning reasoning and how to construct arguments that have internal validity. Maybe your argument is kind of insane or makes you sound like a sociopath or doesn't translate to the world at large well, but are you making an argument that's composed of things that make sense for each other and would make your argument true if they were all true? Furthermore, if your argument were true, what does this affect? What can you do with this? Are you just jerking yourself off, or is this a functional framework for real-world action? It's not really a "provable science" in that you can't, like, run a test to prove whether ideas are innate to the human mind or see whether this blood test says that Marxism is the best framework for addressing economic inequality. I think it's most valuable when combined with actual acts and not just sitting around having theories. It frustrates me sometimes because it feels like the humanities are the "think about things" field and STEM is the "do shit" field, when we have a lot of worth to put into the world to improve daily life for people when we can actually get off our asses and stop trying to construct the single uber-theory that can describe everything ever and will impress everyone else with how smart the person who made it is.
>>545572263Humanities are the NTR field and STEM is the fucking your chick field, lmao.
>>545570660>being so stiff with this worksheetIs this some kind of Britishism?
>>545572873British are known for their stiff upper lips after all.
>>545572263I guess what I wonder is when do you decide that some argument you thought was true is no longer true. Like in science falsifiability is kind of fundamental. Is there a way to falsify arguments for this? And I guess I should temper my previous statements in that I don't think there's NO value in this kind of stuff - falsifiability as a concept comes from philosophy via Popper, after all. My wonder is more about the methodology
>>545573930You decide an argument is no longer true when you find a false premise, a logical flaw (it becomes invalid), or evidence that the conclusion is false, where another one supersedes it. An argument is considered "unsound" if even one of its premises is false, even if the logic itself is valid.
I feel like she's mocking me.
>>545576137I know what kind of man you are.
>>545576352A father, successful businessman in middle management, civic minded citizen, and supporter of local charities?
>>545576352He's definitely straight and heterosexual kind of man.
>Something seized my tunic, and I was snapped back to reality as the material was ripped from my chest, and a cold wind raked goosebumps from my exposed body>And, oh, those lips! They tore my shirt to pieces with their ferocity, biting my lips until the metallic tang of blood mixed with their earthy sweetness>"These clothes...must go." She said with a crazed look on her faceSo tiring...
>>545559525Most of the time omegaverse is just horny gay werewolf fanfiction, but there's one aspect of it I really like, intelligent people being reduced to their base desires and urges. One setting I like is (you) an alpha and (your)r coworker and rival an omega, often friendly bickering at work and being competitive with each other, but then the rut comes in and both are reduced to breeding for hours.
What is the ideal age to gender bend someone? In a prompt, of course.
>>545577653At least there's femverse shit so its less gay. Or hell, you could go full coocoo with the gay shit and go futaverse for memes.
>>545567887I'd probably assume they'd use a potion for that, too, but given how their society works and the somewhat implied low birth rate, I'd have to assume that having new heirs would have quite a bit of importance among the purebloods, so aborting one likely wouldn't be an accepted thing in many cases.
>>545578091Aborting things would be seen as okay (conservative feminist terf writer after all), they wouldn't want unwanted pregnancies ruining education. They mostly keep numbers low on purpose for control and power structures so there's less infighting over inheritances and such and really just depends on the family, not everyone's a slytherin even in the pureblood sense.
>>545576624>father>cute little human girlDo we need to call CPS?
>>545578475The Weasley's seem to crank out kids like no tomorrow, but they're more lower class among wizard families
>>545578659I wonder if they're catholic
>>545551338>em-dashTo think I used to add them in myself during AID days... Nowadays they are all banned.
>>545578894I don't care what anyone says about ellipses, smart quotes, and em dashes, I refuse to abstain from using them.
>>545578864They are just working class.>>545578659Slytherins are the Supermacists with ties to Voldemort and others who view witches and wizards as superiors to muggles, thus they keep their purity in higher regard, others like Weasleys are more open minded and less strict about things, you can think of them as the centrists of the setting, betting there's plenty of that sort of people in the Hufflepuff families.
>>545578091NTA, I'd kind of forgotten that in the Harry Potter universe, the ability to use magic at all is a genetic trait.Which is different from pretty much every RPG fantasy universe where magic is a skill that can be learned by anyone, and some races are just better at it.
>Weasleys almost always father boys>They're also very horny and have lots of kidsWhy the fuck would JK Rowling say this, what was she implying? It makes me want to make a prompt exploring the kind of wizard their progenitor was.
>>545579319>Genetic Trait.Nope, its not, Muggleborn (Mudbloods) are generally not related to any magician in their family (or mixed in that case yeah they are Halfbloods) and are just able to practice witchcraft, being born in relation to magic user only makes it more apparent and easier to access from one's youth due to knowledge. Muggles are just people that can't use any magic and there's also people that are disabled magic users basically squibs.
I could never get into Harry Potter or the lore around it.
>>545579667>High Testosterone wizards living in a comfy, natural relaxed environment = no stress.>Oh gee I wonder why they be popping out only males by the bucketloads. Its just natural process, you would have more females being born if there was stress involved or the stakes of survival were higher. They just have a comfy lifestyle.
>>545578475Honestly, I'm surprised she's still in favor of that, though it seems the last time it really came up was a few years ago.Power structures only go so far if you look down on outsiders enough and care about blood purity so much that it affects your choices based on the few you're not related to anymore. Few that we see even have an heir and a spare, so to speak, though it's not like our main viewpoints are widely connected to have a good knowledge of the societal makeup.>>545579319Heck, even Voldemort says something about every drop of magical blood being spilled is a waste. Mind you, he's as much of an outsider as you can get, but his whole thing is pretending to be pure and all that. With that, I'd have to assume that things would be different were the baby magical as opposed to being a squib.
>>545580019They (Wizarding supremacists) act like really posh nobles from UK, you could think of them that way and it just basically clicks why they are the way they are.
>>545579763>Muggles are just people that can't use any magicI assumed that's because they're inherently unable to, because there are no examples of a muggle learning to use magic.Which sounds like it's basically genetic to me; either you inherit the trait from your parents (which is likely to happen), or it occurs spontaneously like Hermione (which seems to be much more rare), or you don't have it and never will (muggles and squibs).
>>545579319For my system, anyone can learn to harness it, in at least one of the myriad ways, as the source that facilitates it’s transmission through a given medium forms a base component of matter itself, but there’s no inherent genetic trait for it. It’s primarily a learned thing, with different people having better aptitudes for specific applications of it, alongside a better conceptual understanding of specific methods. Much like how, for certain people, music theory comes more naturally to them than it does for others. Typically, organic beings require a focus to channel it, as although the body itself qualifies as one, direct contact with certain forms of energy is kind of dangerous.
>>545580410Unlike Muggles, Squibs can understand and interact with the magical world but they can't just cast spells. They are basically downs syndrome kids of the magical world.

Does anyone else have an issue where NAI decides to no longer acknowledge input and keeps trying to start it's own story?
>>545609697That's not something I've seen before at least. I'd suspect something is going wrong with context or settings. Is it something that only happens with a specific story, so does it go away when you switch stories?
>>545610572Specific stories, ones with overly large context I think.
>>545610732Is it consistent on rerolls? You could either share one of those stories so people can try to reproduce it (by downloading it and getting a .story file that you could then catbox and share) or go diving into the probabiltiies to try and figure out where it's getting distracted. You could also just look at the context viewer and see if something sticks out there.
>>545610951I'll try the cobtext viewer first, thanks.
>>545600305No, you're just on a time limit before automatically transforming back. I'd thought it was just a strict one hour limit, but apparently it depends on how well you brewed it, ranging between 10 minutes and 12 hours. If it was a thing of getting stuck that way, then Barty Crouch Junior wouldn't have transformed back from looking like Moody after being in his form for most of a school year. You might be thinking about getting stuck if either the drinker or the ingredient of who you want to transform into isn't fully human, perhaps.

>>545622390I use NAI web
>>545614949Maybe McGonagall doesn't teach that sort of Transfiguration in class much since she doesn't want to have the students start trying to transfigure themselves all willy-nilly. So instead most of them would use Charms to cover up instead. But it would not surprise me if higher level cosmetology (which probably has some more magical name) would involve transfiguring patches of skin to be smaller and more elastic, shrinking fat deposits, and stuff like that. Though there's probably also skin salve recipes for housewives to mix up at home that work for some of those things.Overall, there's a lot of spells and such that probably should have been mentioned, even just in an offhand manner, to help flesh out the world a bit more. What sort of spells and such are Lavender and Parvati reading about in the periodicals and testing to see what makes them the most appealing? What glamor spells might Lockhart have been using to win Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile award? What might Molly use when she wants to surprise Arthur after a long day of work? (They had seven kids, she must have options.) I suppose part of that comes from the three most main characters all not being particularly into that sort of thing. Hermione only gets into it for a moment for the Yule Ball, mostly just with Sleekeazy's on her hair.

>>545622390I used primarily API + Frontend until the past two weeks during which I subbed to NAI. Will keep my subscription only for a month, though. GLM 4.6 was good enough to justify the $25 purchase and I got to finally play around with imagegen 4.5, but by the time mine expires in two weeks, we'll either have or won't be long away from better open source models being dropped and I got my fill of imagegen.>I dont know which is ultimately cheaper thoGood per-token models are incredibly cheap now. It's cheaper unless you're a turbo, extreme, heavy-weight daily power-user. And even then, a model like Deepseek v3.2, especially with caching, will probably STILL come under $25 per month unless you, idk, spam nothing but super high context requests.
>>545622390I have a SillyTavern setup connected to OpenRouter and some money in there and was primarily playing with that and DeepSeek during the later Erato days, but with GLM on NAI I primarily went back there. I just really like the UI and its workflow. It's most likely more expensive on a pure textgen level than simply using OR, but I also like using the imagegen, so that makes NAI a good combo deal for my purposes since I can't do good local imagegen with my setup. Also DeepSeek V3.2 providers on OR have been very fucking annoying recently, constantly throwing "too many requests" errors and shit and I just don't want to deal with that.

>>545623986Accessing Grok through X, you have a private option in the upper right corner that says>This chat won’t appear in your history and will not be used to train models. This means by default, they log everything. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to train models with your conversations. And even the private mode claims they only won't use it to train, rather than not logging altogether. They presumably keep all logs at least for a certain time period, likely as a safeguard in case of some legal issue arising.
>>545625640I asked grok itself it said that they still logged your chat and it still tied to your ID for at least 30days for safety and legal reasonbut once 30 pass it is still possible to dig it up if they are really try to look for itit just wont appear on your history so you dont have to waste time to delet your erp session everytime you need a quickie on your family ipad so yeah private is only for you not for them
>>545625983Makes sense. Every single major AI company whose primary focus is making competitive models logs because the incentives just make it stupid not to do so. Having data, and especially data that other AI companies don't have access to, is too important for them to pass on.

Something I don't understand is why these system prompts are treating GLM as if it were a thinking model. It doesn't “scan” the text before sending it. >>545664316It has 2.3k tokens lol. Of course it's going to fuck up the model's capacity to adhere to detail. The whole point of System Prompts is that they strongly affect the output relative to everything else. If you have a whole laundry list of instructions pulling the model in all sorts of directions, it's not a surprise it's less likely to pick the right token based on some minor detail in the story. It's working under several dozen guidelines that it factors in at all times. This is why System Prompts should be as succinct as possible. Ideally below 700 tokens.
As a reminder, now that the poll is open for this month's theme, now is the time to do some advertisement to those voting on why they should want to write for the the theme you prefer. Why are you excited for the theme you want? Do you already have ideas in mind to catch someone's imagination?

>>545765583There were more organised states than the Iroquois confederacy along the Mississippi and their cultures, famous examples of city states along the river are Cahokia. For them, we don’t know what language they spoke as it was likely a multicultural and diverse place but it was likely a muskogean language rather than an algic language as the people who spoke those languages migrated later and pushed the Muskogean speakers south, also around the time when the Mississippian city states were in decline or abandoned.Mesoamerica also didn’t really have a centralised empire in most of its history (exception: Purepecha) as most empires were tributary based in that losing rulers regularly paid the winners with people or resources but maintained their way of governance and rulers.I think a true Pre-columbian empire with a centralised government is the Inca, they’re administration was pretty cool and they attempted to ‘quechua-ify’/homogenise their empire like many other empires across the old world, I think they had llamas, roads networks, and quipu to thank for that. There are more cultures across the Americas that had something also close to states that I will have to leave out. >>545804571My pet theory is closest to the third one, maybe somewhat dependent on the second one, and it's basically "did someone in that group happen to manage to discover, use, and spread agriculture".Farming keeps people in one place and allows permanent settlements to exist around the farms, and that's how cities start.
>>545804571>why didn't group X develop an advanced civilizationBecause they're a band. Eediyote.
>>545804571You also need collective schizophrenia and religion to bind large groups of people cohesively.
>>545806518It seems like religions get created by civilizations though, not before them

>>545806787Common religious beliefs is what unites neighboring villages and tribes for long enough to make large agricultural projects and do complex organization though. Gobleki Tepe is like 7 thousand years older than the egyptian pyramids
>>545809481The Mississipians had agriculture. Their civilization just collapsed from climate crises, overuse of resources, soil depletion, and deforestation contributing to societal decline and essentially civil warfare, and the introduction of disease by the Spanish further contributing to a civilization already in crisis.
>>545809481They did figure out farming though. The Mississipian culture grew maize and other stuff. One thing they notably lacked were good draft animals, though.
>>545810593>had massive hordes of bison they used as food and clothes and shelter for 14,000 years>nobody anywhere in the entire continent ever domesticated it Holy skill issue
>>545810978People in modern times have barely managed to domesticate bison. It's like the zebra vs horse issue.
>>545810978Domestication is not an entirely top-down process driven by humans. The animal species must be biologically prepared for it. Compare the cortisol levels produced by domesticated animals and their current sem-feral counterparts, and that of undomesticated animals. All things considered, a wolf still produces far less cortisol than a zebra does. Which is why zebras aren't domesticated. Even modern attempts at domesticating bison are limited to keeping them in a pen to wander around in, as they're too herd-oriented, inclined to migration, and generally unruly. There's a reason why current farmers stick to cows, dude.
>>545811568To add onto this, you can sort of specialized breeding for it, but that requires far more intensive effort and planning than what was possible at the time, given the resource limitations of a primarily nomadic culture who became sedentary fairly late, and then when that failed, returned to nomadism. For comparison, although aurochs were much less herd-inclined. Which is the key factor here. Thirty aurochs is simpler to manage and facilitate the beginnings of domestication through selective breeding than tens of thousands of bison, especially given, based on historical sources, auroch bulls didn't typically travel with the herd. Meaning that you could separate the females and their calfs, and docilize them.

There's a bunch of stuff that makes logical sense but is sometimes hard to fully appreciate when just looking at a bunch of maps from the comfort of a modern home.Even when it's just me and some friends in the woods trying to get from point A to point B, a few lines on the map can be the difference between an easy 20 mile day or a grueling 8 mile day. I often think then about people who had to actually live off that land, or generals who had to figure out how to move a whole army with all their gear to some destination. It makes me believe much more that something as simple as where a river is located can have big effects on how things turned out.
>>545811568How come Asian niggas managed it then
>>545815686Asians had horses and cattle, dude.
>>545815686Asians have water buffalos, not grass buffalos.
>>545815686The average size of a water buffalo herd is typically 10 to 30 individuals. In other words, equivalent to aurochs. They were also domesticated by sedentary peoples who practiced agriculture for the past several thousand years. This is roughly comparable to the length of time it took to domesticate cattle in the Middle East, India, China, and Europe.
>>545815686fox women helped them
>>545810978Also there is in fact a species of bison is Europe, that was also never domesticated. All the Europeans managed to do was almost hunt them to death.
>>545816767>European bison are less tameable than the American ones, and breed with domestic cattle less readilyYikes. I notice they had smaller herds, but the fact Europeans already had cattle is probably why no attempts were made to domesticate them. It makes sense that they'd primarily serve as a hunting target.

I've been having fun with GLM, although it has all been discussion-focused back-and-forths between a couple characters rather than adventures or action or anything else. Always one location, and eventually I roll back and start over from the beginning of the scenario.I've got no ideas for a prolonged story. Damnit... Curse my slice of life obsession.>Couldn't get captchaCould you fuck right off.

>>545817271I think i know one that basically transforms Mesoamerica into one sci-fi empire, but that’s all I know.I’m trying to write some alternate history that mostly centers around changing the destiny of certain chinese dynasties, cause I’m Chinese, like having the Tang being able to help the last Sassanid Prince reconquer all of Persia, obtaining permanent influence in Central Asia and a permanent tributary/ally in Persia. One of these involve the Song being able to somehow undergo a level of industrialisation. With independent merchants plus state-sanctioned voyages using ships with their steam powered engines to explore the globe, eventually encountering regions such as Australia and the Americas. They could set up multiple trading and mining posts across continents which act as a permanent point of entry for a slower form of columbian exchange to occur plus the exchange of technology, which would give natives 500 years of old world exposure before Columbus, giving certain tribes time time to consolidate into city states, kingdoms, then empires, etc. when they couldn’t do before.Existing empires may fall apart sooner due to diseases or rise even further, I imagine a revived Toltec may have to contend with the migration of the Aztecs near to their homeland shooting at them atop horses with firelances, the Wari and Tiwanaku may end up surving their catastrophes and survivors launch a full scale war against the other, Mississippian city states may unite under a militaristic ruler, etc.

They literally just updated the new model to allow logit biases a few days ago, retard.
It’s not considered ‘doing something’ unless they make a new in-house model.
>>545522956Wizards in the Potterverse already have highly advanced AI waifus in the form of living photographs. I'm sure the boys at hogwarts secretly take pictures of the girls there and trade them with each other.>Hey bro, I still have one from 1st year Hermione, I'll trade it for your pic of the Parvati twins.

Another thing I've noticed GLM seems to really like I don't think anyone's mentioned yet: water stains on ceilings.
>>545860245Then they won't ever "do something" again, as they are on record that they are never making a new in-house model ever again, because they don't have the resources to do that. You can fuck off forever now, shitposter.

>>545863583>>545869590A portrait might be closer as far as being an AI, honestly. While not a perfect recreation of their subject, unless they've spent a lot of time with them to learn, they can at least speak and learn. Photos can move and sometimes react a bit to the viewer (waving, nodding, shuffling aside so others in the shot can be seen better), but are silent and most only are a gif, essentially. But there's a lot less info on them than portraits. What I will say is that if whatever equivalent to Playboy exists in universe uses the type of photograph that can react somewhat for its centerfolds, their magazines would likely have a higher cost but have a longer shelf life, even with limited interaction. Those pictures would be more likely to go along with certain things due to what they were photographed doing. Not as a blackmail thing; they're already (presumably consensually) having their pictures taken in some state of undress, they'd be more likely to undress, etc. Whereas a picture of a firstie is likely to not want to be involved with anything.
>>545879537What if you cast the imperius curse on them

>>545869590It's probably been something like two decades since I watched the movies but for some reason I'm almost certain there has been at least one gag where a character in a painting is shocked by whatever they see which causes them to 'leave' the picture by basically just running outside of the frameI have no idea if established canon touches on whether or not the characters in the paintings or photographs are sentient but I guess it seems like they have the option to just fuck off if they want to? >>545882817Apparently not. Never read the books, but I went down a tism rabbit hole. Some countries apparently still exist like Translvania being mentioned as a sovereign nation. Apparently the hand-wave explanation is that the wizards still recognize plenty of countries and nation states that are long gone from the regular world.Which has some really funny implications of long gone governments and dynasties that had a handful of wizards in their mix. >alright everyone we got a hell of a quidditch>please give a warm welcome to the mountain wizards of The Principality of Ryazan>they have been on a real winning streak since 1379 >and their challengers everyone’s favorite underdogs since 1945, the occultist of Nazi Germany

>>545568992>>545573930A lot of the humanities stuff you see in the media/journalism/that wiki article is pretty far removed from what the actual scholarly work in these subjects looks like. Depending on what you research, you're doing interviews and surveys, or you're trying to understand ancient inscriptions or whatever. It's empirical work: You gather the available evidence on X, then try to accurately describe how X is, then try to explain why X is the way it is. There are standardized methods for how to code texts for their meaning for example. Or you might have heard of the five-W-questions that are used to contextualise a text. A lot of the buzzwords you might hear thrown around (like "Orientalism" and "postcolonialism") are about ways to reduce personal bias in interpretative work. On the topic falsifiability you could take a look at this essay for example: https://acoup.blog/2023/06/30/collections-the-marian-reforms-werent-a-thing/It's not a scholarly study itself, but it tries to convey the results of such studies and explain how a previous theory was overturned. Sadly over the last few decades feminists and other "scholar activists" have worked very hard to take over the humanities departments and rot them from the inside out. To the point where a lot of academic output now reads like a parody. And those are the people who are then interviewed and (mis-)quoted by journalists, because they align ideologically.
>>545888190Apparently not much of an answer. My guess would be they get lumped in with a regional Middle East/African school, but maybe they randomly fall under the purview of an Eastern European one?
>>545888582You'd think King Solomon would be mentioned at some point
>>545568992I majored in History. I would get a seminar to write, the standard was 15 cards (1 card = 1800 symbols) and 10+ sources. I'd usually start by reading Wikipedia and watching video essays, then I'd pirate articles from Library of Genesis. I'd spend some time reading, deciding to keep what I like and discard what I don't. I'd write something and reach a conclusion that's different from what I'd expect. Finally, I'd rewrite the goal of my research to match my results... Oh, and I had to spend hours on end making the citations fit the Chicago Manual of Style standard. History is all about nice citations and footnotes. Anglos usually cannot into citations at all. This is what I was actually doing. Some 80% of the research process was just me thinking about the subject for days on end.It was the greatest time of my life.
>>545882275There's a spectrum of how life-like animated images are in HP. Like the other anon said, normal newspaper photos are basically just .gifs. The fancy portraits on the other hand are more like AI: The people in them are sentient, have feelings and memories, can talk and interact with their painted environment etc. And yes, they can leave their paintings and visit other people in other paintings. Rowling sucks at worldbuilding, so she hasn't put much thought into this. But according to her own words, animated portraits are " literally and metaphorically two-dimensional. They are only representations of the living subjects as seen by the artist." Meaning they are kind of stuck in the mindset/scenario that the artist intended them to have.https://www.harrypotter.com/de/writing-by-jk-rowling/hogwarts-portraits This is good for porn. Someone could draw a sexy Hermione with the intention of her beeing a slut, and then her painting would act like that. Realistically there would be a huge market for living porn images and "ai" girlfriends in the wizarding world. Perhaps you could buy basic portraits of hot girls and then larger ad-ons with cut-outs to insert the portrait: You take a pic of Hermione and put it in a BDSM dungeon. A special frame stops her from escaping the image and you can use your wand as a stylus to control the scene with.
>>545882275I recall that in one of the books there was a portrait (Phineas Black, from my searching) that had at least one duplicate and he could move between them regardless of where they are.

>>546039664I had to do a similar thing where I told the model that, despite some dark themes, this was a silly translated from Japanese story at its core
>>546039610Good choice. I feel like that Link hits just right for me. Total cutie. Very much enjoyed doing a story with him rising out of the refilled Lake Hylia cold and drenched after doing the Water Temple, needing to get warmed back up in the cabin of a guy that lives nearby.https://files.catbox.moe/eaucqy.pnghttps://files.catbox.moe/19g5hk.pnghttps://files.catbox.moe/gp04bw.png

The difficulty with slow burn is when the model takes the story in an explicit direction way too soon, but it does it in a way that's still really hot so deleting the output hurts.

>>546100465I like the idea of magic making Shiek a full boy. Makes it hotter.
>>546100535Smash really opened the door for that with Zelda being able to just instantly switch to Sheik, so clearly the whole thing had to be magic, and once you accept it's not just a disguise with bindings or whatever, well, then it might as well be a full transformation, it'd only make sense for disguise purposes, after all.
has anyone else had glm just run off into a story starter completely unrelated to what's happening, happened to me for the first time half an hour back
>>546107587Are you using a high temperature preset? I've noticed that this model seems to have a thing where the probabilities end up with like a dozen 0.X% or even 0.0X% probability tokens, and in particular when it comes to new paragraphs some of those are delineator tokens that seem to tell it "and now for something completely different". I've run into "----" a couple times, where it'll just start making a character listing or something like that, I can only assume there's some stuff in there where it'll also just go off on an entirely different story.

Has anyone messed around with game elements like stat numbers with NAI? I want to write something akin to trash hentai games with experience/desire/fetish level etc... linked to a number. So far I've noticed that it's pretty good at adding x-stat +1 in a similar pattern to what I'd done previously but it doesn't feel like it has much impact even if I add that x-number is a lot and should influence decisions. I don't trust it to count or keep track so I tally up and put the current stats in memory.
>>546143797Do you define the scale? You could ask it to develop one for you.
>>546143929I believe I tried defining a scale in the past and didn't see much difference but I might've worded the scale poorly or should just have used numbers. I tried doing a "every ten points it levels up" but it didn't take the points into account and just leveled up the stats whenever it felt like it and the level up message became very samey regardless of level or body part.
>>546145731Try writing stats as 20/100, say. That solves the issue of 'how much is 20 acyually'? Maybe throw in some perks, skills, etc. Achievements can be very funny.
Does anyone else share their story with Chatgpt, Claude and the like? Feels nice to discuss it when no one would read it.
>>546153747Use notebooklm for that, you can even get a podcast about it
>>546154393Oh yeah that too, although it seemed too focused on the RAG aspect rather than open-ended discussion last time I used it.
>>546153747The only time I talk to these models is to pick their brains when I'm frustrated by their bad habits. No, not -isms, I've deadened myself to that. More manifestations of positivity bias (my sworn enemy) and intentionally confusing flanderizations of characters. It's just venting.
>the memories are like scenes from a play you once saw, the emotions muted, чyжaя кpoвaть, a cold coat you can't quite shrug off.
>>546143797>akin to trash hentai games with experience/desire/fetish level etc... linked to a number.I've tried using the lorebook for a sort of 'set effect' where certain things would happen when a character wore a specific amount of equipment pieces and while it could keep track of the amount it would often get the actual effects mixed up to the point where it'd need heavy guidance and some manual inputs to get it back on track
