And I'm pretty sure it was more about why Omori the game conceptually doesn't translate well to a manga format.This video seems more interesting. It would feel unfulfilling if after the reveal and especially thee Omori fight that we were told Sunny and Basil were forgiven, but it would also be crushing if after the whole game and Memory Lane it ended with the other extreme. So the game leaves it up to the player do decide, even if its clear the writers had a definite ending in mind. The ending's a nice topic.

>>545790974That bit of removed dialogue is still so strange. It was supposed to be used during the Arachnophobia segment. Each line of dialogue would be followed by a Yes/No prompt. Yes starts the Something in the Walls fight, choosing No causes the dialogue to continue until the last two lines and the fight starts. It's kind of obvious what you could read into the dialogue as, but I think it's actually meant to imply Mari knew about Sunny's bruised fingers and tried to comfort him when it hurt Sunny that much. But if this is true, then Sunny imagining these words coming from a giant spider nightmare trying to ensnare him in webs and biting at him says a lot. She was still making him practice until his fingers bruised, and the confusion in some of this dialogue might imply she didn't know that was the cause.If the above is true, it puts Mari in a particularly bad light. But without context and if the player knows Something is meant to be Mari, it really does sound like its implying coercion. And the denial of Sunny repeated refusals followed by that last line is pretty blatant in what you could read it as. This dialogue was removed for a reason.

Reminder that Sunny wouldn’t ever have confessed the truth if Kel didn’t knock on his door. Even the good ending where he tells the truth is based on the hope that his friends will forgive him, and not because it is the right thing to do after he lied to them for so long.

It's what he believed the last four years, and some of what Omori says could even be what Sunny thought before she died. That hope is too unrealistic, and the truth too horrible. The desire to live can't come from them. Sunny has to choose to keep living with what he's done. Final Duet is almost like saying goodbye. Looking at his life with Mari and memories of his friends and saying goodbye to this times after spending four years getting lost in them. Things can't ever be like that again, but he isn't going to dwell in that any longer. He can start to live again. He can start to forgive himself.
