I have leveled multiple rogues to 60 on both classic and private servers.Combat rogue on bronzebeard is the weakest version i have ever played. mobs my own level get me down to 50% HP if i dont use a cooldown. The level scaling hides how bad it is. its OK vs green mobs, but really terrible vs yellow, as in warriors have better efficiency fighting mobs their level in classic than combat rogues do on bronzebeard. im lvl 50 now and if i knew rogues fell off this hard i would have picked anything else. My damage is fine, but regular mobs my level are hitting me for 10-15% my HP. elites my level hit for 25% my HP. I watched a paladin solo an elite without using cooldowns because he could self heal and it did hardly any damage to him. They did something to make mobs do more damage than usual or rogues have less survivability. Stealth is also weaker than any official version of wow has ever been, i distract green mobs then walk behind them and they instantly detect me. literally never happens in official wow. also i used vanish vs 5 packs of mobs and it failed 4 out of 5 times, its more buggy than usually.I dont even want to finish levelling to 60 anymore.

I loved playing TWoW but I just feel reluctant to continue with the lawsuit and shit Blizzard are throwing at them now. I only got to level 45.

In terms of raids, there's still more people and guilds and pugs doing Molten Core on Nord than on Amber.Where Amber has Nord beat is on leveling players. Even with this event, Amber just has more people leveling. Dungeon queues at the low end are faster. But at 60, weirdly enough, Amber is deader than Nord. There's just less to do and fewer 60's. And with people raidlogging when there's only Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair out (which can be done in one night) it leads to this situation where 60's only show up once a week. Meanwhile, the 60's on Nord are there every day or so because they have not only more raids to do, but they've built this whole social network there where they log in just to chit chat and sometimes run dungeons for fun.At least this is my experience having 60's on both servers. On Nord if I log in I have people saying hello, talking to me, asking me if I want to do dungeons we're all overgeared for but somebody wants something so let's go. Meanwhile on Ambershire, 60's just aren't around. They either grinded their pre-bis already or are getting carried in MC. And with BWL two months away, they aren't going to be around that much for the rest of the year. I'll see them on raids and that's it.

I never really cared for how Silvermoon was inhabitable in TBC. In Warcraft III the Scourge decisively destroy it and burn it to the ground and overtake it, and then in TBC it's just like WCIII barely even happened. It should be like Stratholme where it's devastated and completely overrun with the undead, but it's just not. I think Turtle Wow plans to turn it into a raid, which makes way more sense to me than a capital city.
Servers will probably merge once all raids have been out.

And given the choice between an old realm and a new realm, most people would pick the new one, considering that there will constantly be people stopping playing, a server does need new players, without new players it will slowly die, which is what is happening with Nord. Opening a fresh realm is an extremely stupid decision for the long term health of the server. My guess is that they knew the lawsuit was coming and are trying to milk what they can.

I was in a roleplay guild in vanilla and we had a guild uniform for cloth, leather, mail, and plate wearers that matched one another. Transmog just means it takes less bag space.I'm not the biggest fan of how Turtle Wow handles transmog. Ascension has a much better transmog system. It's free to use, you can even change spell effects, and you're allowed to turn it off for everyone and see what they're actually wearing which solves so many issues. Turtle's is so clunky and needlessly restrictive by comparison, and you can't turn it off for others so you're forced to see garbage transmogs.

I got curious about how the classes work in retail since they have fucking 15 or whatever now, checked out the wowhead rotation guides. they're literally almost all the same, especially melee. every single melee spec has some genetic melee strike, a whirlwind clone, other redundant melee strikes that also give a contrived buff, then an eviscerate like move that consumes those buffs. that's it, like every one is basic rogue style with whirlwind thrown in.there's just too many damn classes in that game now. absolutely no way you can make what, 30+ melee specs have a unique playstyle.

Resource management gameplay in wow nearly always amounts to either outright ignoring it, e.g. geared warriors having infinite rage, having some braindead ability or cooldown baked into the class to bypass it, divine plea on paladins and evocate on mages for example, or abusing external means of regenerating resources like in classic wow where you chug pots and runes like crazy. In fact the only class I'm aware of that ever successfully utilized resource management gameplay was arcane mages in wotlk with the mechanic of balancing arcane blast debuffs.

>>545984174Resources really are the weakest link of wow gameplay. Rage has been broken since day one and broken a million different ways having been reworked at least 5 times. Energy is so barebones and shitty as a concept that it's basically just an abstracted cooldown, at least as it's applied to the rogue class where you are constantly limited by energy instead of gcds. Mana is the only one that even has the potential to work but in almost every case you have effectively infinite mana, especially for the non-caster mana using specs like prot paladins where they straight up delete the idea of managing your mana. Dk runes are literally just a cooldown on top of cooldowns. And all the various secondary resources are effectively just combo points.

Every boss encounter should have at least 2 mobs to deal with, and I don't mean throwaway adds that you blow up in 3 seconds. Multi-mob fights allow you to make use of cc which is itself fun but also allows for more playstyle depth and distinction.
