A lot of times you should also completely stop rerolling a piece if you get the elemental, focus on other pieces and get back to it after that. You try to fish for tier 9 stats or better (20% ele, 10% atk), it's a good compromise between amount of rocks and performance unless you are hyper minmaxing, and it has a relatively decent chance of landing you unexpected blues. There are diminishing returns after a while, since for example swapping a 20% ele for a 29% ele when you already have 100% (4¨*20+base+cube) it will increase your dmg by like 4-5% instead. You have to either guess or calculate if it's worth.
