As much as I love Deltarune I have a feeling the ending and it's message isn't really going to resonate with me. Few things have recently. I still want to see the outcome because I'm naturally curious about the fever dream ending that's supposedly so great it possessed a man to go down a path along which Undertale was made, and I like a lot of things about Deltarune like the characters and world whose fates I want to know, but the sentiment probably won't resonate with me. Same with the anniversary stream, it was awesome but the parting words felt kind of empty. Like, that's cool and all, I accepted it because everything else before it was neat, but it comes across as like if some optional flavor text you know someone out there really likes but didn't personally resonate with you appears at the end of a big emotional scene. It's so passable, just OK in a scene that cuts no corners anywhere else, that it takes you out of the game and you remember that it's probably coming from a place of Toby trying to inspire others like how he was probably inspired but not everyone he's trying to inspire/keep from killing themself a little longer because the fandom is like that will have the same experiences or drive or luck as him, and that's fine obviously but the whole experience will speak to them more than the parable spelled out at the end.
