One thing that I wish happened more often is when characters that you play as had conversations that differed depending on your perspective. When you play as Takuji in IMOI, it really does feel like Zakuro unfairly ditches you based on one bad interaction, but when you experience it from her perspective he's incredibly bitter, rude, and unsubtle with his intentions. It really helped identify with how both parties felt from the exchange, because if you only saw what was presumably the reality of Takuji being a total incel chud the entire time, I don't think most people would give him the benefit of the doubt that he is legitimately trying to be likable and kind, at least in his mind. His lack of friends and experience socializing prevent him from understanding his own personality flaws, which further isolates him when opportunities for new connections arise. One of the reasons I really liked his relationship with Kimika, even if it was based on a pretty morbid premise.
