I just finished watching season 3 and honestly it was pretty disappointing. Kitasan was easily the weakest main character out of the three, her dynamic with Diamond was basically nonexistent, and the new characters sucked (except for Bakushun, who got almost no screen time). Her final race didn’t make me feel anything because I couldn’t bring myself to care about her or her struggles. And maybe I’m being autistic over a horsegirl anime, but it legitimately bothered me that Kitasan was forced to retire so early despite being way younger than the rest of Team Spica. I get that this series kind of ignores aging, but it still feels weird that she went from like 10 to 16 and then retired, while Teio and the others are supposedly still active. It wasn't terrible or anything but still a giant stepdown from comfy S1 and kino S2.
