Just got ratted a minute in from a full round start. Stitcher went through my medium shield like butter, and the rat killed another guy before punching me out. I didn't even see where he came from. I think I was lucky earlier since it didn't happen, but now every round has a dedicated guy out for my loot, or at least my loadout.

I did some quests on Dam at the tail end of the last matriarch event an hour or so ago and the entire time I heard constant gunfire and explosions as the matriarch was in the center of the map in that space between the two halves of the dam. About 8 minutes left I finished and the gunfire had stopped so I went over to congratulate the raiders or watch them kill each other from my perch on top of the dam. Instead I saw a very alive matriarch, a rocketeer, a bastion, wasps galore, and maybe a dozen scattered raider corpses. Anyway the rocketeer aggrod on me and chased me to the hatch I escaped in before I could loot anything. Good times!
I like how strong the matriarch is, its the type of challenge that people don't care what you have because they want to loot the boss.
