Totally not evil as fuck and possessed newfag comes up with the idea to broadcast the crimes of Algon on the news which predictably results in everyone getting doxxed instead. Lunch tragically falls victim to the same retardation virus that has affected everyone else up to this point as he falls for a pretty bad framejob by the Phantom Society to make it look like Dear Leader is actually the traitor instead of the asshole who insisted we try the news route in the first place. We stick with the boss and end up on our final vision quest where a qt daoshi gets killed trying to clear out an ancient ruin underneath the cyberpunk city, then raid the Algon HQ to try to learn more only to find out some demon is already shitting all over them. We have made an alliance with that cool motherfucker Finn to try to clear the Algon HQ so we can both at least settle our business without interlopers getting involved.

After we say our goodbyes Six continues to be fucking insufferable and we finally get our answers as to what Manitou even is, as it begins one final gambit to feed itself.Even if we fail to stop this and the world ends, I can die happy. >>547540562yeah but it's something at least. he has been getting some criticism too so hopefully he'll listen and make it better.
SMT5 is my first SMT game. I'm really liking it so far, but it has a strange tendency to forget that I had already analyzed specific demons. So for example, I am currently in the second big region (the part where I am rescuing a bunch of kidnapped students). I literally just fought a bunch of Rakshasha demons in the school prior to entering this area. I distinctly remember using the Spy Glass to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Now I am fighting more Rakshasha. But the game acts like I don't know anything about them. There have been multiple instances of this, and it's infuriating. All it's doing is making me waste Spy Glass items and making me waste a turn with my Nahobino.
>>547529345We made it to the ruins and discovered that our choice of target in the final vision quest decided the final boss's form, and after navigating a relatively easy final dungeon we make it to Manitou.Phase 1 was a huge pain in the dick with multiple wipes until I realized I could just go with the time tested rpg tactic of zombifying almost my whole party to make myself effectively unkillable.Phase 2 was very touch and go but I eventually fell into a rhythm of having my zombie army tank most of the attacks while healing out the occasional Megidolaon or Spore Bullet. Once it was in the red they started using desperation Apocalypses that very nearly wiped me since I quickly ran out of single target heal options but I just barely managed to snipe the kill with one last attack from the E.F.G.'s shitty little pistol for about 20 damage.Nemissa returns to the earth, Manitou dies, and the world is saved at least until mankind decides to kill itself again.SOUL HACKERS COMPLETE.Kino game held back by the occasional pretty shitty dungeon. The difficulty was quite nice after a long stint of pretty easy entries and it definitely had one of the strongest settings in the series and a pretty good story despite a lot of plot mandated retardation on the part of the cast. Ending felt a mite rushed but that's a nitpick.Persona 2 next, will be running PS1 version. Is Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment a pokemon Red/Blue situation or are they actual separate games?

Lighting makes this poor kid look like a starving African child from those charity commercials was picked to be a stand in for Boris Karloff in the Mummy.Eikichi keeps getting random perma-buffs after battle and now his persona is absolutely swole. Not sure what that's about but I'll take it. I also very much appreciate getting a proper tutorial for this new wonky-but-not-as-wonky-as-P1 negotiation system. Thank you, Slime.

>>547651552It's likely in the "concept stage", with people in a meeting room throwing out ideas and concepts for what SMT VI could be about. Actual development for the game won't start until P4R & EO6 are done, btw.
God has cursed us all.
>>547663269/smtg/ is a reincarnation of Hijiri who is a reincarnation of Aleph
>>547663526How badly is Vkun cursed for the nuchaos end?
>>547663269What ya gonna do about it? Kill God? Hehehehe, yeah right get real.
>>547663661>CursedHe's erased from existence btw
>>547663895The Great Will is the one cursing him. You can't erase his lawtism.
>>547664281There's literally nobody to curse when the entire universe gets erased from existence
>>547664861It was only V's universe that got erased in CoV chaos. Another one of Atlus West's fuck ups. Yoko never said "every universe" in Japanese. Also Satan will tell you it's only V's universe changed by the MC's decisions in every ending. Ol' GW is still alive and kicking and also mad.
the great will is the worst thing ever introduced in this franchise since it's very obvious that atlus is planning some kind of avengers endgame scenario where all the (approved) protagonists will team up to permanently kill the great will
>>547665654But how does the Axiom factor into this?
>>547665720they'll just have the axiom be a part of the great will
>>547665920It would be funny if they are conflicting forces and the Axiom is actually some kind of chaotic force purely because it's unpredictable besides causing trouble for the GW with all its messiah and YHVH respawns.
Atlus is the AxiomCozy was the Great Will (Lucifer going to destroy it represents Cozy leaving Atlus)
>>547665654On the topic of capeshit and SMT, I wouldn't be surprised if killing the Great Will cuases a omniversal reboot or some shit, DC comics and SMT seem to have that in common among other things.
>>547668086Or they just keep the GW as some unreachable and intangible law entity.
>>547668328That would be nice, but the way Atlus is presenting the Great Will currently just reeks of a future confrontation, but the question is will it be like last Bible where we only fight a small fragment of the GW, or a full body GW? We'll just have to wait and see.
>>547668761You might think it reeks that way but they didn't really make the GW an antagonist at all. V is the most gnostic game next to NINE and they set it up where YHVH (or whoever was on the throne) was the false god, while the GW is the real god. The real god is fair and noble unlike the false god who is constantly raging over his creations debasing him. The GW is mad at you but he lets you do what you want inevitably. Instead he set it up so that Satan would judge you for the path you've taken. It's also kind of up in the air as to whether he will actually curse you like Hijiri was cursed but that's mostly because all the shit with Hijiri is still completely unexplained. GW could still stay just like he is.
SMT but Lucifer wins control over the world and turns into Law, then YHVH sides with the resistance as the Chaos mascot

>>547593420>>547601957All these alpha- beta- demo- "guys look at my idea" fan projects will be cancelled. If they were really working on a full-fledged fan game, they would have shown it when the game was at least 70 percent ready. Otherwise it's just attention whoring.
>>547620121These lazy cunts can't even bring non PS3 roster of demons.
>page 10 again
>>547682230total dissolution comes next
>>547665229I'm confused by this, and it makes me wonder what Lucifer is even doing. TDE, which is what everything in V proceeds from, is Lucifer starting a campaign to destroy the entire cycle of death and rebirth for every universe. All of existence as a whole. To this end he has Demifiend go through a job interview after killing off one universe and it's YHVH avatar in Kagutsuchi. Now, maybe I'm misinterpreting it, but Lucifer managed to kill YHVH himself at the start of V, not just some avatar in universe #4852. That's how he merged with YHVH's knowledge and got behind the wheel of the Mandala system overall, which governs ALL universes rather than just being a mechanism for death and rebirth in one. When you fight him at the end what I got out of his dialogue is that upon reaching this apex of power he understood that he didn't have the means to thwart the mandala system even after merging with YHVH'S knowledge, so he needs to commit suicide by Bino because... Bino maybe can? But in just about every ending Bino just recreates the world again. I don't recall any mention of him destroying the cycle of death and rebirth that is ingrained into the Mandala system, even when he breaks the throne that's probably just one mechanism in the system which can be replaced. Every other ending, even Yoko's that coincides with the stereotypical "muh true freedom" is just another rebirth no? Basically what I'm wondering is what does Lucifer accomplish by getting himself killed and ceding all the power he has gained thus far to Bino?
>>547682769Satan states very plainly that there is 0 impact on the system as a whole even if vkun frees the world he was in from the mandala system There are endless dead Megatron lucifers for mastema to summon Satan with
>>547682769Demifiend defeated YHVH. And they're still in the same universe as Nocturne in V. As to why, when he absorbed YVVH's knowledge Lucifer understood he himself is an Avatar of the Great Will in the same way Kagutsuchi and YHVH are, his rebellion is just another side of Mandala. This is actualized by the throne curse, Lucifer was never allowed to take the throne himself and end the cycle, he can only act as it's arbitrer. It is not a twist of fate, it's the Great Will at work. When Bino defeats Lucy he takes the knowledge and no matter the ending the world that results from that victory is severed from Mandala achieving Lucy's original objective.
Bros I don't think we can survive reinterpetting the V plot the same way again for the 5000th time
>>547684603Ok, get this, what if we describe the gay romance in the game for the 5000th time instead? Bet you didn't consider that.
>the two straight Nahobino fusing humans (Dazai and Yakumo) are also the most interesting characters in the gameHow do the gays cope with this?
>>547683897>>547684184So all that work for wresting one universe out of countless others from the mandala system. No wonder Lucifer wanted to commit suicide.
The Great WIll did nothing wrong.
>>547688309It tried to raise the price of Costco hotdogs.
>>547684184>Demifiend defeated YHVH. And they're still in the same universe as Nocturne in V.Not possible. Lucifer explains what becomes of the world when Demi kills Kagutsuchi and it lines up completely with the world the fiends describe coming from. He also said it will be in darkness with time frozen. V's world was neither trapped in eternal darkness or time stopped. You guys need to realize that the map similarities in V and Nocturne are just references to the conception and that it looks similar between worlds because they both happened in Tokyo.
I still don't like that Atlus decided to make SMT V a "sequel" to Nocturne, to me it just feels poorly executed as a sequel.
>>547694235Feel free to explain why without saying nostalgia pandering. A sequel game has to make references to the one that came before it.
>>547695597NTA but no one has to explain shit to Vfags
>>547696427Retard.
>>547691403The world literally is frozen though. The plot of V I'd that the apocalypse has began but the world is stuck in a stagnation loop because nobody is on the throne. Not only that but they specify that this calamity is specifically because of the failed Conception in V. BTW the fiends AREN'T from Nocturne's world either. In both games they are travelers of Amala who were brought to that world by Lucifer.b
>>547698181I thought you guys like getting scraps of info so you can headcanon conclusions. Do you really want anon to give a definitive answer on why he doesn't like V as a sequel?
>>547698345You really need to hear everything he says here:https://youtu.be/R-CkRW9eNzo?si=sdVLC96HvJZ9ExEP&t=20298>humans are no longer born>everything is in darkness>time is stopped>land of deathNone of this happened in V when YHVH died. Absolutely nothing changed which is why everyone thought the war was still going on. Outside of Tokyo the world is normal and they even tell you that. And also Goko commends the Nahobino for wanting to take the throne and says it's the GW's desire. In Nocturne, you're told everything Demi does in that ending pisses off the GW.
>>547695597I just feel like V would've been better as a standalone game instead of a squeal to Nocturne or more specifically a squeal to the TDE, cuase the way I see it destroying your home universe to help some idiot achieve freedom, only for your efforts to be revealed to be pointless, but the same idiot comes up with a dumb suicide plan because he's a massive pussy who can't handle the GW's wild ride, just feels silly to me, it comes off more as a comedy than a tragedy for me honestly.
>>547699285The suicide plan is how he handled the wild ride though. Break the system within the system.
>>547699004Taking the throne is sorting out the problem created by DF. And it needs to be pointed out that YHVH worked a miracle to prevent Makai from spilling out into the rest of the world (Shekinah Glory)
>the joke is gay sex
>>547694235I don't understand why they even decided to make a sequel to Nocturne. Was it because of development issues? Were the devs struggling to make a original story and decided to go for a nostalgic bait plot instead? Did Komori just wanted to get SMT V out of the way to work on E06, so he made the most lazy story possible while pleasing PS2 era fans?
>the plot is gay sex
So uhhh... did you guys hear that Atlus wants to make JRPG 3.0...

But the fact remains that Yakumo and Nuwa are still more interesting than the MC and Aogami despite getting 10x more focus.
I'm sure you guys get this question a lot, but for a first time smt V, is there any reason to select the option at the start that puts me on the regular version story? Is the vengence version just a ++ version of the base story, or do they diverge in such a way where the base version has stuff to offer that the vengence version doesn't?
>>547768431They are both very similar, CoV has more story, as in, the game stops you for dialog more than the original which is more gameplay forward without interruption. CoV however expects you to know the story of CoC at multiple points but the story will still make sense without it. In terms of content, CoV has a different 3rd map than the original and you can take guest characters, absolutely everything else is the same. Both routes have exclusive demons, and bosses that the other doesn't and so on but that's obvious. But because they are so similar it's possible you'll play one route and have no interest in playing the game over again. CoV has slightly more content but it will make more sense if you play CoC first. If you want all the demons and super bosses, you need to play both routes regardless. That's all the info I can give you. Make your choice based on that.

That freakish entity spammed so much scat and gore that a large chunk of that general permanently migrated to /v/ where they eke out their days complaining daily about jannies deleting their threads for being stealth generals. Now THAT'S a pitiful existence.

His only goal is that the general crashes and burns. He doesn't like smt at all.
>>547867270You unironically need to stop caring because he won't leave regardless of what you do. That's how all of the somewhat serious schizos on this website operate. You reply to them: they reply back. You don't reply to them: they reply to their self. Unless you have mods targeting their ass, it can't be helped.

As reported by GameBiz, the Q&A session covered a range of topics, including a sudden drop in sales of catalogue titles (games released during past fiscal years) compared to the previous year, and revenue fluctuations largely impacted by some of Sega’s new full-price and free-to-play titles. Namely, it was brought up that Sega has released a number of critically acclaimed titles in the past couple of years, but despite the positive reception and high praise for their quality, sales performance fell short of expectations.Metaphor is included in those fiscal year sales. What are you talking about?

>>547945067Because if you actually looked at the source instead of the intentionally vague summary of it (which you did, but you are a lying bastard), you would know that FY2026 sales are what didn't meet expectations. They just had a big budget sonic racing game come out that flopped hard and they are avoiding saying that it was the title that performed poorly specifically. The article quoted the gamebiz directly and then said what Japanese users theorize rerelease applies to. And they're likely right because Atlus is the one that loves rereleases and there definitely is rerelease fatigue.
>>548016960>The article quoted the gamebiz directlythey paraphrased it to make it look like it supported their bullshit claim that launch sales are down when they're the best each of their developers that actually do rereleases mainly Atlus and RGG have ever had you are taking offense because you can't read
Back in my day shitposters wouldn't cower behind a news article that links a steam community thread as a source. They would just post an article that says 100% the exact opposite of what they are and would argue for hours that it didn't. And it would work because they could actually speak English and exploit the other guy's desire to be right.
Is SMT VV deluxe worth 28$? There is discount on steam...
>>548017232>On the other hand, in recent years, new full-length games have tended to have sales that fall short of expectations, despite being highly praised for their quality. The company believes that this is due to genre competition and pricing at the time of release, as well as users' concerns that a "complete version" will be released after some time has passed, which may be causing them to hold off on purchasing. This is directly from the gamebiz article.
>>548007152>I like that even the regular shop clerks in this game are oozing with personality and even get their own portraitsI always liked that as well. >>548017802I guess so if you mean they'll pay you $28, otherwise hell naw it's garbo
>>548017864And then you actually read the entire thing instead of just the one part you cherrypicked because you know you lost this argument >Furthermore, the company cited differences in the lineup as a factor in the struggling repeat sales for the fiscal year ending March 2025, down 18.5% year-on-year to 18 billion yen, a stark reversal from the strong performance of the previous year. In the previous fiscal year, titles such as "Persona 3 Reload," "Yakuza 8," and "Unicorn Overlord" were released in the latter half of the second half, and continued to sell well in the following fiscal year while maintaining a high price range. However, this fiscal year saw a lack of major titles that continued this positive trend, which is why repeat sales overall are weak.
>>548017802I'm no big on the deluxe version because a lot of it is bloat dlc you don't need. If it's cheaper just to get Dagda and Sakuya on their own I'd do that.
>>548018178>multiple factors invalidates a claim>you're cherry pickingWhy do you think this invalidates anything? It's not cherry picking, what you posted is irrelevant. Of course there are multiple factors. There always are and I never said otherwise.
>>548018412They explicitly name non-definitive releases as games that sold well and continued to sell well, retard. And Metaphor performed better than all 3 of them while specifically greatly exceeded the expectations set for it on PC so you can group it in implicitly
>>548017864>>548018178These two things actually don't contradict each other when you consider the games that aren't the major Persona, Metaphor or Yakuza releases. The new sonic spinoff game was a flopSH2 was a flopRaidou remastered was a flop V vanilla was a flop P5T was a flopP3R on switch 2 is like the worst selling Atlus game in over a decade Etrian remastered was a flopTrying to wedge this into a narrative that Metaphor didn't meet expectations or do well in general is absolutely retarded though
>>548019343>These two things actually don't contradict each other when you consider the games that don't get rereleases with one exception also V might've crashed and burned but it was still the best selling SMT game of all time
>>548017802Yes.
>>548018975Every game they listed would never have a definitive edition later on or at the very least within 2 years which is what creates the apprehension. P3R instead added dlc.
>>548034786>Every game they listed would never have a definitive edition later onthat doesn't make the least bit of sense because not only did no one know that P3R would have an expansion at launch but vanillaware games have all gotten rereleases besides 13 sentinels and again, yakuza does this shit all the time too. Yakuza 7 got a rerelease on newer hardware with limited transfer capabilities even
>>548035728Yakuza 0 just got that director's cut that no one liked becuase it retconned even more character deaths too. Their Kiwami games are way worse than Atlus rereleases IMO because with the exception of P4G every Atlus rerelease still actually feels like you're playing the original game. The one time you might want something that just totally upends the style sound design and atmosphere of a Yakuza game is ironically in Yakuza 3 because apart from the actors that played specific characters that game was dogshit.
>>548034786People are still saying they won't buy P3 Reload until a definitive version comes out

>>548036354?????? 13 sentinels not getting one doesn't change how the entire rest of their library got an update down the line Same thing with yakuza, if the argument is there being an abundance of rereleases is hurting launch sales of these games that would just be happening regardless of the contextWhich is why it's a flimsy as fuck argument, because that isn't happening

>>548040920I scrolled through the argument and the angry retard(s) to me looked like the ones who can't accept that maybe rereleases do affect sales (they certainly affect PR since people talk about it) but eh
>>548041216fishing for the last word makes you look even worse
>>548037765I explained myself already but I guess I'll do it again. The games they listed are exceptions which is why they listed them to begin with. Very few people avoided those games under the worry a rerelease with better content would replace them and there are valid reasons why. People looked at Metaphor and remembered P5R and SMTVV and voiced enough apprehension that Sega took notice. People did not look at Unicorn Overlord and think it would be replaced in 2 years, neither did they look at P3R and think that (and those who did think it were few). That is because P3R is based on P3, the game is complete and 13 Sentinels never had a quick turn around rerelease. Yakuza 7 was also a complete game. People could tell P5 and SMTV did not feel finished at release and then worried Metaphor would do the exact same thing. If this is still arbitrary to you then I don't know what to tell you. You're just ass hurt.
>>548041302Your projection is impressive, ngl
>>548041460Setting aside how this is now a completely different argument and you're pretending it's not because you're butthurt, retards on the internet seething over its success were the only people that ever said this about P5. Yakuza is loaded with complete games that got rereleases, every vanillaware game with a rerelease has also been a complete package. V is the only one where this was the case, and again, it was still the best selling game in franchise history, so in that case you're describing something that didn't even happen. If people are worried about rereleases they are not going to be following spiraling logic like this. You still aren't making any sense because all your examples are terrible.
>>548042056You're the one who is now bringing up sales for some reason. Sega is aware of buyer's remorse and commented on it. Nothing they said after that refutes it. It sounds more like you're furious they even brought up the notion at all. If that's the case bring it up with Sega and call them fools for believing liars on the internet.
>>548042660>Sega is aware of buyer's remorseWhat kind of cope is this? For how aware people were of how unfinished V was it certainly had no impact on its launch sales. This entire argument was about launch sales actually, but it's sounding like you've run out of room to back into
capcom should've bought atlus
nintendo should've boughted atlus
microsoft should've bought atlus just so they'd make NINE-2
>>548042858>cope Where? You're the one having a meltdown over the article because Sega said "sales that fall short of expectations" and don't want it to apply to any Atlus games or want anyone to even theorize it based on what they said about rereleases. That's some next level autism.
>Sega IPs have a history of doing rereleases and a reputation for it >Sega wants to look into if that has anything to do with why a bunch of their games haven't done well It's a perfectly straight line they're thinking in, jesus christ. Some games obviously did like picrel, but P3R didn't flop, Yakuza didn't flop, UO didn't flop, Metaphor didn't flop. I get there's some extreme mental illness around saying the last one out loud here but this level of mental gymnastics is /pg/ tier retardation
>>548043580You're done m8. An hour from now when you've said enough bullshit we will actually have been arguing about why Persona 5 was a flop because everyone expected the rerelease the entire time.
>>548043726>>Sega IPs have a history of doing rereleases and a reputation for itAtlusLiterally only Atlus does this shit, not Sega itself.RGG has been doing kiwami releases sure, but they're basically ports of PS2 games nobody fucking played

>>548044812>some other schizo that doesn't want rereleasesschizoing aside, there's nothing wrong with not wanting rereleases, atlus needs to get on with the times that NOBODY wants to buy the same game twice. It only worked on the PS2 and PS3 era, not anymore.

What are you thankful for, /smtg/?
>>548063663I'm thankful for being a Lawchad.
I am interested in Yoko but do I need to play canon of creation slop first for le legit story experience? What is the most optimal run (route+ending) for VV?
>>548066289Play CoV, whatever ending you want, then never play the game again. This is the optimal way to consume VV.
>>548063663Being able to enjoy just about every Fatlus game instead of being a constant ball of misery and hatred.
>>548067173You can hate on slop and be happy, it ain't mutual
I don't hate /smtg/ but I hate what it's become. Honestly I think if we all just took a break and left for a period of time, it'd help purge the nonsense. You'd all have to promise to return though :(

English or Japanese voice for VV?
>>548077702It unironically has one of the worst dubs, I think I'd only rate DeSu1 OC lower. Meanwhile the Jap voices are god tier so go with those
>>548078267Thanks. I thought the voice were pretty close from the comparison video but guess something shit happened down the line and people said MC's dubbed voice suck.
>>548078378The MC is voiced by a tranny who sounds weak and pathetic compared to the JP version. The other problem is a lot of the cast is voiced by literal whos who vary from average to downright bad (Tao).

Phys or Mag for VV?
>>548084575Flip a coin. They are both viable with pros and cons.

>>547999510Ronde sales evidently fell short of expectations. They were expecting the game to sell on the same level as Megami Ibunroku Persona but it didn't.They are blaming Soul Hacker's release date as the cause. People are hesitant to buy games with terrible demos from Atlus because they're going to release a better one on the same console a month later. Sega is concerned about it.

How much longer until atlus announces the next smt thing?
Anyone ever checked out those Megami Tensei III concept docs? I can't remember where they're from, maybe some kind of SMT 1 artbook or something.I remember it had a concept story where the MT II MC and TTW did the law ending as canon and end up as servants of YHVH you have to fight against. The MT III MC was also supposed to be the Dark Hero's kid or something, it sounded pretty cool. Anyone know where it's from?
I miss SMT4 smirk :(

What if the 3 chief gods of Japanese mythology were actually robots that controlled the Japanese government?
>>548163007Atlus would find a way to make it lame and gay
>>548159535I remember it was included with vesk's archive back in the day, but I can't find them on my download. I know I read about it for sure, it was discussed here some months ago. It's pretty interesting how megaten would've been if they didn't redo MT2 with SMT1 and just made a MT3.
>>548163662I enjoyed the premise of MT2 more than SMT1 actually.
>>548144586That was from vesk’s document and she briefly discussed it before. Both Hideto and Rosanna created a proto millennium kingdom and the mt3 protag was indeed supposed to be the dark hero’s kid (maybe from his girlfriend and is the reason why she was waiting for him to come back?) though since she and the doc got nuked, we don’t have full details. It’s a really fun idea that sadly got scrapped due to pivoting to SMT 1, since post-post apocalyptic games are very good setting and story wise. Would’ve been interesting to see MT3 Protag’s story and get the Solomon ring from his dad’s ghost or something, but alas, we got modern SMT from it
>>548163231Nah I'd have faith.
Why didn't V explain what Hijiri did wrong?

So I started playing SMT5 Vengeance last week (I'm this guy >>547542089), and I just got to the part where I beat Ishtar and enter the Demon King's castle.. Took a break, went on YouTube and got this video in my recommendations.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/99XGaWn9Am8My mind is blown.Did the original SMT5 really not release with the option to save anywhere? If so, where was saving permitted? At Leyline Founts? If so, that sounds so frustrating. Imagine wiping to a boss like the one I just beat in my spoiler above and forcing the player to reload their save, go through a long-ass trek from the Leyline Fount to the boss, and mash through dialogue text boxes before actually getting to refight the boss. Also, did the original SMT5 really not have Magatsu Rails? I literally cannot imagine how much tedious backtracking there would be if you had to manually run around without these Magatsu Rails providing very well-placed and convenient shortcuts. The Ginza area I just finished in particular would be pure misery without these traversal options to help you for the numerous times you fell and needed to get back to the top area again. Also, how the fuck did the original SMT5 not have a sped-up autobattle option? Are the devs stuck in like 1990 or something? Fucking Earthbound on the SNES had autobattle.
>>548172157Yeah it really makes you think. A lot of classic megaten are just re-dos of MT2's story or revolve around an "alternate timeline". (if... -> devsum -> persona) In a way it sounds like an early version of SMT II cause of the proto-Millenium Kingdom. Though it adds in an interesting dynamic because your old protagonists are antagonists now. It makes you wonder what they would've said their reasoning was for going law.MT II doesn't elaborate on the story that much, but what we already know about the story makes it odd that the MC and TTW would go law. I mean you literally abandon the Dark Hero to join TTW and go against your original goal to help Pazuzu. Is it some case of unintentionally fulfilling YHVH's plans even though you're trying to oppose him? It would explain why we kill all the tyrants of Makai even in the Chaos route.
>>548185375I never lost to Ishtar so I don't know.
Megami tensai 1 Loki is done.
>>548188473Nice
>>548185375You'll struggle with older SMT titles because they lack a lot of QoL.
QoL is for the weak
>>548177868They aren't.They have no involvement or role to play in IVA.Same reason why you don't hear about Infernal or Blasted Tokyo. Those were things Flynn experienced in his journey and have nothing to do with Nanashi's.

>>548221869Yes and this is apparently how Atlus is celebrating Demikids 25th anniversary, lol.
>>548187301Would have loved to know why they went law after providing a headstart for humanity again, and the biggest reason why the mt3 protag was gunning for them besides the ‘kill my father’ thing. >redos of mt2’s story Initial set up, setting and plot of the game is too good to not utilize and rehash. 2 for the obvious, 1 that puts you through a post apocalypse with your friends in the future, etc. If anything I wish atlus did some more stuff with it instead of going pure nocturne/world is actually just an egg ready to be hatched kinda deal.

>>548226442I kinda like it even if I think it's mediocre in a lot of ways
>>548226442IV genuinely does not get enough hate. It was the first truly bad SMT game and set the series trajectory towards the sad state it's in today.
>>548248104I remember people being grateful to finally move past SMT V but then once they saw that SH2 was it's own thing, they began doompost and tons of disingenuous posting in hopes of causing a Atlus version of the Tortanic
>>548251417>Dogshit opinion with bad syntax and grammarGee I wonder who this could be!
>>548251417We will never move on from SMTV and neither will Atlus.
>>548208817You feel sleepy...I always liked how MT2 leaned more fantasy than sci-fi desu. It had a unique feel. The lack of dialogue was a limitation of being an NES game but it let you fill in the blanks with your imagination, loved that.>>548224680I guess, but when you look at the series overall, it gets a little old. Sometimes it's more than just a rehash, like Giten. That one is a full retelling of the Tokyo section, with Yuuka's body parts standing in for the pillars you collect. Though re-doing nocturne with SMT V was definitely not the play.Maybe re-doing SMT II could've been a better option? We got a little bit of that with SMT IV's Mikado section and a law-based society, but it was medieval, not cyberpunk.Where's that art from btw? Never saw that in TTW-anon's art comm archive.
