Why can't I make a roguelite that feels like GTA where I have only females npc in the town I can beat up, but when they're K.O. I can finish them off with a sexual fatality but that done as a procedural manga?

Do you STEAL money from the government for your game?My government is offering some money for new small businesses. Not everybody gets the money though. But you cannot spend the money on anything you want, you can spend it on:>buying PC hardware, software, licenses>hiring people, paying them, artists etc.>renting a place for the business>marketing, advertisements>coursesYou cannot spend the money as your salary.I think it's pointless. Why would I buy PC hardware? I already have it.Why would I buy PC software when I can steal it or use open source? Why would I rent a place if I can dev at home? Why would I go on courses when I am an expert?Only the marketing makes sense, but you cannot spend 100% of the money they give on marketing, you can only spend about 20% in this way. What if I hired a homeless bum as artist and he would give me the money back?

How many warnings in code do you have for your project? I have over 200.

Does 90s Global Village Coffeehouse style have any nostalgic value for gamers? Could be a cool art style for a game
>>548324603Go for it, seems like no one's done it. Albeit my opinion on it is using pre-established aesthetics seems a bit too derivative for me. Video games need specially made aesthetics I think.
>>548321998unreals editor works (works best if you actually compile it though), you might have to use a windows vm to make windows builds though, or to do lightmass since thats apparently fucky. idk about unity

I give up on trying to edit vector files for my game. it's impossible. Those files are a mess and in no way are suitable for editing. I'm looking for sports shoes and I need 3 different models. But it's impossible to find from the same artist. Also why the fuck photoshop insist on generating realistic style images. How the fuck do I fix it.

all the games I want to make are too sandboxy/open-ended to be feasibly made in under 4 yearsmeanwhile the "easy to make" games sound too boring or sloppy for my personal tastes as a devfml
i just watched a video saying that investors are pushing for html5 games to be more popular because they're tired of the gatekeeping + high fees by steam, apple play, google play, etc.
>>548331502he said 50% of all games will be html5 in 5 years because their graphics are approaching AAA etc and graphics cards are so incredibly powerful anyway

Will your game be about being a bird on a murderous rampage?
>>548331502In 2017 we emailed sponsors for our web game. It was a small flash era like game. One guy responded and said our game did not work on mobile browsers. At the time Unity didn't support it or something I can't remember why. I was very surprised that this guy was looking for web browser games that would work on mobile devices. I thought about it and I realized it is because the app store games require parental control/password etc so it creates a threshold. Whereas a kid can easily run a web game on the tablet/phone. So the barrier of user acquisition is lower. Also link for the video please?
ok so where do I go to find devs who need a bad artfag. I need to get more practice in
>>548332760>bad artfaghow bad?
I do feel I should spent a couple days just playing menue based games.

>>548329180>vector files>photoshopWhat? Use illustrator, or inkscape?
I want to do customizable characters with dynamic animations. Is 3D the only way?
>>548334772I gave up on editing them as vectors. There was a jpg of the full version of the image. I opened it in photoshop and tried the generative fill thing to create a different design. It was sports shoes images but the results sucks. I couldn't manage to create another model with the same art style. Also the details are muddy and obvious that it's ai generated.
>>548333265Not that bad? just newish. not a pro at least. check last thread if you care, the door gif and eevee tail are mine>>548333810I do that currently but its getting very boring and for some reaspn its way easier to do art if i'm being told to do it by or am making it for someone else.also i'm kind of spinning my wheels at the moment and having a project or at least assets to work on would add a bit of needed direction

I was never too big on gamedev tubers but now they are the perfect thing to watch/listen to while gaming and then get re-motivated to hop back into the project and keep deving. This is my coffee thought thank you for reading.
I'm learning Godot and using this tutorial lesson series. It says all scripts by default come with this boiler plate code that I don't have showing up. I mean sure I can type it myself, but why the discrepancy? Is there a 'fresh script' default I can set? I'm on 4.5.1-1 Linux if relevant, the tutorial is some version of 4 and made in 2024.
Nah, I'm gonna be able to pull off this art thing by myself.
>>548339869It's the same for me. Also on Linux and 4.5.1I don't think about it, just type what I need.

>>548331502>>548331659Not happening unless major browsers implement better support for per application caching. An AAA graphic web game would take 10 years to download and then would need to be re-downloaded each time you want to play it.

Vector artists are retards. This fucking guy created a shadow. Which consists of three different circles by the way, which could be done by one. And instead of making filling it with spherical gradient black to complete transparent. He made i to gray to white. Fucking idiot. I can't just export it because if you put the image on an other background the shadow will look weird. I have to go through each circle and each gradient points in each of them and change them to black to transparent. Why does each of gradients have multiple fucking color points is another question. Fucking retard!

can I have some honest feedback? https://store.steampowered.com/app/2695800
>>548358213>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_costTBF, his game's not entirely unsalvageable if he was a normal human without severe autism, but unfortunately that's not the case. The most successful games of the genre like Satisfactory and Factorio are 1. very accessible and optimized for casuals and 2. very beautiful with professional quality graphics. He's most likely never going to fix either of those problems.>>548358459That's me. That "one youtube video" won't matter if it also comes from some weird hardcore autist. It has to come from a normie gamer like Spiffing Brit, but he'll never make a video because the game looks like inaccessible shit to normies.

>>548358510>Steam page roughly 2 years old>Changed Store Release Date – 2024 › To be announced>Outstanding wishlists: 1.7k>no demo>new trailers since last month didn't yield a notable increase in wishlist velocityIs this actually you? Why have I never seen you post here before? It looks like it could be any generic UE asset flip with no substantial gameplay. You only show off your action combat store asset without showing anything with inventory or RPG stats. Also, I think gamers really expect extensive plot/narrative/dialogue for this kind of game. Overall, it's way overscoped. It's impossible to make into a real game without a reasonably sized professional team. It will feel cheap and amateur no matter what you do. You can probably release it for cheap and scam a few suckers out of a few bucks, but that's about it.
>>548358510What is there to give feedback on? Right now it just looks like an asset flip of the Ascent Combat Framework.
>>548359168A high-functioning and high-IQ autist has the ability to simulate empathy and make their autistic game normie-friendly.
