My government is offering some money for new small businesses. Not everybody gets the money though.
But you cannot spend the money on anything you want, you can spend it on:

>hiring people, paying them, artists etc.
>renting a place for the business
>marketing, advertisements
>courses
You cannot spend the money as your salary.

I think it's pointless.
Why would I buy PC hardware? I already have it.
Why would I buy PC software when I can steal it or use open source?
Why would I rent a place if I can dev at home?
Why would I go on courses when I am an expert?
Only the marketing makes sense, but you cannot spend 100% of the money they give on marketing, you can only spend about 20% in this way.

In 2017 we emailed sponsors for our web game. It was a small flash era like game. One guy responded and said our game did not work on mobile browsers. At the time Unity didn't support it or something I can't remember why. I was very surprised that this guy was looking for web browser games that would work on mobile devices. I thought about it and I realized it is because the app store games require parental control/password etc so it creates a threshold. Whereas a kid can easily run a web game on the tablet/phone. So the barrier of user acquisition is lower.

I gave up on editing them as vectors. There was a jpg of the full version of the image. I opened it in photoshop and tried the generative fill thing to create a different design. It was sports shoes images but the results sucks. I couldn't manage to create another model with the same art style. Also the details are muddy and obvious that it's ai generated.

I'm learning Godot and using this tutorial lesson series. It says all scripts by default come with this boiler plate code that I don't have showing up. I mean sure I can type it myself, but why the discrepancy? Is there a 'fresh script' default I can set? I'm on 4.5.1-1 Linux if relevant, the tutorial is some version of 4 and made in 2024.

This fucking guy created a shadow. Which consists of three different circles by the way, which could be done by one. And instead of making filling it with spherical gradient black to complete transparent. He made i to gray to white. Fucking idiot. I can't just export it because if you put the image on an other background the shadow will look weird. I have to go through each circle and each gradient points in each of them and change them to black to transparent. Why does each of gradients have multiple fucking color points is another question. Fucking retard!

You can't, it's just for cloth collision. You are gonna have to use both colliders.

TBF, his game's not entirely unsalvageable if he was a normal human without severe autism, but unfortunately that's not the case. The most successful games of the genre like Satisfactory and Factorio are 1. very accessible and optimized for casuals and 2. very beautiful with professional quality graphics. He's most likely never going to fix either of those problems.

Is this actually you? Why have I never seen you post here before? It looks like it could be any generic UE asset flip with no substantial gameplay. You only show off your action combat store asset without showing anything with inventory or RPG stats. Also, I think gamers really expect extensive plot/narrative/dialogue for this kind of game.

Overall, it's way overscoped. It's impossible to make into a real game without a reasonably sized professional team. It will feel cheap and amateur no matter what you do. You can probably release it for cheap and scam a few suckers out of a few bucks, but that's about it.
