You have to finish off the flood by blowing its body apart before an infection form comes by and revives it (at least in the later games). Same with the Prometheans. Plus with the flood you can shoot off the arms and they can't attack you.What makes the flood annoying is that they just charge at you without worrying about their own health and can shoot you because there's so many of them. I'd remove their ability to shoot guns and then they'd be more fun. There's too many of them spawning at once, and the ones with guns get unfair shots at you because you're dealing with the closer ones, and then they come in for the melee to finish you off. Meanwhile you still have to deal with the infection forms and carriers.Prometheans are much easier to deal with. The crawlers are annoyuing but they aren't as aggressive as the flood. Knights are just damage sponges, they're not much of a threat. Yeah the teleport is annoying. I'd remove that. The watchers would be better if they don't attack you (aside from catching your grenades and throwing them back, that's actually really cool). They should just be a support unit.If you ever get a chance, Halo 4's Genesong Cut mod makes Prometheans more fun to fight. Most of it is just making the weapons fun to use, but they also removed the Watcher's ability to attack which is makes them far less annoying, It actually makes the Promethean combat decent.
