Some early lower priority camp scenes can also be missed if higher priority ones are queued. To advance companion quests or romances, make sure to long rest often.>Q: Can I recruit Minthara without going down the evil path?>A: If you knock her out in Act 1, yes. You do miss out on the sex scene, but otherwise the romance remains the same.>Q: Underdark or Mountain Pass?>A: Either, or both. It's recommended to clear both on higher difficulties for the experience and loot. Both connect to the same Act 2 map.>Q: Is The Dark Urge essentially "Tav+"?>A: Yes. You get additional content, BUT there are points where, if you've chosen to resist the Urge and/or don't complete quests the "right" way, you'll have to pass additional checks to avoid losing companions.>Q: Are there any consequences to consuming tadpoles?>A: No, for the most part. However if you've consumed any tadpoles, there will later be a DC 21 Wisdom check to reject the Astral-Touched Tadpole, which affects your appearance if consumed.>Q: Should I enable Karmic Dice?>A: Karmic Dice will avoid streaks of low rolls, both for you and the enemy. It is recommended to disable it if you're specializing.>Polls:>Romance: https://strawpoll.com/NMnQ5kJXYn6>Race: https://strawpoll.com/kjn18WPzeyQ>Class: https://strawpoll.com/eNg69DKKjnA>Companions: https://strawpoll.com/bVg8o8l3VnYOP pasta: https://rentry.org/bggpastaPrevious thread: >>567340002

>>567699498I'm at the long rest before the githyanki attack you. Sad news, Shart has disappeared. Her tent is gone, and her beautiful golden boobs have been taken away from me. Basically, the same end result as the guy who stuffed her body in a camp chest and then resurrected it later. For the first time in this entire playthrough, I feel..... Loss. Second time, really. So I was finishing a multiplayer playthrough with someone, and we both agreed to finish the game with the Durge ending.Except I decided to finish my Ceremorphosis and evolve myself further. The side effect of this was that although I was player 2, the game treated me as the main character now, and I didn't get any options for the Durge ending. Even if player 1 landed the last blow on the Netherbrain. So instead player 1 got the failed Durge ending where he's a pissing retard and gibbering lunatic that can only think about blood and murder and can't control their body anymore.

question of the day: what do you like more about bg3: its roleplay opportunities or the complexity of its companions?
>>567733416Companions and builds. There is not much roleplaying because there is no opportunistic or evil routes in the game. You either be a good guy and experience the whole package or be retardedly evil and lose 60% of the game's content.
>>567735404the lack of evil rewards doesn't mean that the evil options aren't there imo, I feel like you get to be a dick or a sociopath in 85% of dialogues
Waifus, HusbandosLove & Harmony
>It's fairly easy, see: when Cazador sent Astarion to the kennel to punish him, do you think Godey boned him?>It's a silly double entendre, as "boned" usually refers to a sexual act, but since Godey is a skeleton and when know he has beaten Astarion, the joke becomes a textbook example of absurdism.Subhuman.
>>567735804Being evil should either open up new quests or give you immediate big rewards. In bg3, it does neither. Just removes content.
>>567733416I love a lot of things about it, but most of all, I think it's the agency you have in the world. How your spells and actions have utility and impact in and out of combat. You could cast Light on a coin and toss it into a dark room; you could reduce someone's size and throw them across a gap. Or throw water on someone to wash off blood and dirt.It feels like a CRPG/Immersive sim hybrid, and there's really nothing else like it.
>>567737031Aside from a few specific routes and the entire Durge run, the game and plot follow a classic narrative: a major threat arises, and relatively ordinary people are called to action to save the day. Sure, wanting to remove the tadpole might change the mind of even the most stoic villain, but it's still a story about saving people; inherently, it's about good deeds. You might experience it as an anti-hero like Durge, or morally ambiguous for personal gain like Astarion and Minthara, but when it comes to making important choices, you need to act morally right to succeed. It's no surprise to me that the greatest rewards lie behind these choices.>>567733416The companions are great. But like the other anon said, the level of reactivity is what makes the play want to play another game, and then eventually learn about how complex the companions and characters are. But this is a videogame, and the "game" part has been done so well.

>>567739690ugly duckling
>>567739319
>>567737031>Being evil should [...] give you immediate big rewardsIt does. In fact, some of the best rewards in the game are locked behind evil choices. Ethel's +1 is locked behind sparing her - an evil choice. Shar's Spear of Evening is locked behind killing the Nightsong - an evil choice. The Bhaalist Armor is locked behind becoming an Unholy Assassin - an evil choice. Ascendant Astarion's powers are locked behind completing the infernal ritual - an evil choice. And obviously, there is the tangible reward of experience (and loot) from being able to kill indiscriminately. The rewards exclusive to the good path, such as Alfira's robe or Dammon's inventory, don't actually stack up if you're being objective. I have no idea why this misconception that the evil path is devoid of material rewards is repeated so often, including above by the stupid swine. We can all agree that the evil path is underdeveloped and lacking in alternative content, but the idea that it also deprives you of material rewards is plainly incorrect.

BG3 is fun and all but it seems like any potential for interesting characters and a story died immediately when they started writing. Concept art for someone like Shart (with the Sharran tattoos and facepaint) would have made me suspect someone more savage and ruthless who wears her zealotry on her sleeve. Instead you get just this plain girl who just says edgy things sometimes. Instead of someone interesting story of possible redemption arc or doubling down on her nature as she pushes the main character to corrupt him or anything like that we just get a neutral character who you either push to NG or NE. And you have to actively push her to NE otherwise she just goes to NG on her own accord. I would have liked something more like a Viconia from BG2 where she is clearly evil and you have to actively push to redeem her. No kidnapping/grooming stuff. No "save my parents" and chosen by Selune or Shar nonsense. That shit's boring. Perhaps a different voice actress would have served her better as well much like the original voice actor for Wyll. Johnny English or whatever her name is is a boring voice actress. Shart is boring. And speaking of Wyll, they really shouldn't have gone down that son of the Duke plotline. They should have kept the more evil and selfish nature. That was much more interesting. Instead his act I from EA was canned in favor of the boring special snowflake character. If anything they should have written him to be more an ambitious foreigner to the Sword Coast perhaps from Chult or one of the Swarthy lands to the south. Maybe stop trying to force everything to be multicultural so we can have more interesting interactions as would be found from good writers rather than just pretending everyone is the same. You'd have to can his familiarity with the region but that would introduce more interesting interactions with him. Swapping his voice actor who was fairly passionate and energetic for the boring one in final release was retarded.
>>567765152I love bg3 but it kinda turns into a parody of itself in act 3 it's really hard to take the plot & some dialogues seriously
Lae'zel is interesting at times. Though would have benefited greatly from the writers actually delving into Gith culture like the caste system and alluding to it with her behavior or outlook or their hyper-individuality instead of just destroying the Gith by turning them all into just the stereo-typical warrior culture. Nothing regarding Gith art an poetry. Just the hyperfocus on a tiny sliver of the Gith. It's not entirely just Lae'zel but the lack of consideration of the Gith outside of this narrow aspect rubs off on the character. Astarion is fine considering him as a dandy and is probably one of the better written characters though they made him far too hypersexual which is extremely annoying and often pointless. When the playersexuality is ignored he seems to have more going for him as far as writing than any other character. I found quite a few moments with him funny like when he encounters the Gur hunter in Act 1 both before and after you find out he's a vampire spawn, especially with the "what do you think about this Astarion?" line and he just goes along with it. He's an elf, but he feels like he should be human. Most elves in game could very well just be made human as they're practically just pointy eared humans. Tieflings too. They could have djust made them all human and no one would have noticed anything but the different character models as they just act like humans but with horns and red skin. They made Astarion an Elf and there's nothing about his character or personality that requires him to be an Elf.Halsin is just boring. But this is expected given that he shares a writer with Shart and Shart is boring. Bearly a character.Minthara does have some potential as the Drow are generally interesting as side characters if you have one. Especially if they doubled down on the Drow's sexism in her interactions with other Characters. I though she was one of the more interesting companions though she narratively goes nowhere. A missed opportunity.
>>567764883Damn that sucks, he's been pretty useful so far.
Gale is just boring. Gale should have been deleted from the game. His plot gimmick is retarded and boring. I would have preferred an eccentric Thayan wizard like an Edwin or something else along those lines. Someone who was truly unhinged in some sense like you should expect of the type of person who become a wizard. Nothing really very interesting about him at all. His player-sexuality was a mistake. Like all playersexuality it's boring especially with someone who is canonically heterosexual like Gale. I can understand if the Flamboyant Dandy is bisexual or the Drow matriarch is bisexual as this is quite common in Drow society. But Gale? No. Jaheira is fine though they made her old when half-elves don't age like humans. They age like elves which is barely at all. Especially with a half elf who in game is something like at most 2/3 of the average half-elf lifespan in age. Given that she's active and likely has access to good food she should be more energetic. Tempered by experience but still more energetic in a lot of cases. Minsc is a joke. Always was. They shouldn't have brought him back and left him in the past. Dead of old age. A very annoying character. I would rather had Zevlor. Karlach is boring. Karlach is a last minute addition jammed in so they could have barbarian companion and it shows. Her plot line is retarded and boring. All you do is recruit her, find some suspiciously place pieces of metal everywhere and then you fix her mcguffin which ends up having little if any real effects in gameplay even if you use it. She seems more like a joke side character from the dumb and dumber remake in the early 2000's than a real character. Again, other than backstory, nothing about her would be noticeably different if she was made into a human. Hell even her backstory would work if human with only a few minor modifications and yet she's a Tiefling?
>>567765343
Now lets get to the slop which is the McGuffin tadpoles. Boring shit. I can understand that Larian wanted to mindlessly ape as much as possible from DOS2 and decided to somehow turn tadpoles into the sorcery powers. But it's kinda retarded to have this plot line. On top of that it creates a false sense of urgency until you get the cutscenes that tell you that everyone is lying about it. It would have been better if they just played into the urgency to encourage players to play the game in a more aggressive fashion and then rewarded them for playing that way with a cure and then some way to justify the player getting his character involved in the plot line rather than this boring retardation that is often just more of a nuisance than anything interesting to engage with. People would have complained about a timer but timers are fun if they're done well. We already have game over for choosing the wrong dialogue options in some cases. This is no different for a game over from not getting one of the options for a cure fast enough. . If they wanted to keep the sorcery powers they could have done something like a limited amount of residual psionic powers as a side effect of the infection which you can harness and learn how to use rather than something that's just getting you to go through the sword coast finding and eating tadpoles. At the end of the day this is what it is and lets face it most of us have never used more than a select few of the powers. Other than the free fly, the free crit, the free bonus, the free debuff from an attack, and the free cast I really didn't find the powers any more useful than just playing the classes and using their abilities. Just maybe a selection of interesting abilities and you pick at most 2-3 of them for your character to keep. Maybe you only get one if you choose the free fly for instance.
The Dead three and the toxiplasmosis gondii cult? As it's done it's boring and retarded. Especially as it's implemented in game. The cultists are all controlled by a nether brain. Well the Elder brain should know what's going on with all these cultists as it is directly controlling all of them (even if it is dominated). However you can go to Moonrise tower, enter, then head back outside and kill the door guards, walk back inside and interact as if you never attacked any members of the cult. The setup doesn't even work with gameplay. It's a fail in ever sense. A plot twist that make no sense whatsoever. And on top of that it should know who you are and all the infected people should be acting like that which is generally not the case. You get choices, but coherent consequences for many of your actions especially in this case. Only a few characters infect really know who you are and react like this. The only one I remember is that guard who turns into a mindflayer in the Nymph's room.. It would have been better and more directly thematic if this was just a mindflayer invasion rather than trying to jam in these plot twists that do nothing and aren't used for anything and made the game about fighting against this mindflayer invasion with options for good, evil, and neutral characters. But no... The writers wan their tentacle monster fetish insert (even bestiality fetish) and they're going to be as annoying with it as possible.
Well that's as much as I want to type about right now. Thank you for reading my blogposts.
>>567765693Back again. I went outside to put some bottles in my recycling bin and it just occurred to me that it could be an option for some playthrough to become a mindflayer early in the game and even play an alternate route centered around being a mindflayer. It would be a game in itself but the nature of such an optional playthrough could be linear enough that it would be a sort of purely combat centric sub-game. They wouldn't really require much C&C because there would be not much reason to do anything else but eat brains and kill enemies.

I think I see the issue. They update the size without actually updating the size information in the examine window. The mod actually reduced Popper's size from small to tiny. So what I learned today >>567795378 is that you cannot pickpocket TINY creatures.
>>567803458The mod is neat in concept but I had to disable it because it really fucked with mob pathing and stuff, especially around stairs. D&D was already known and enjoyed by tens of millions prior to BG3. Larian, on the other hand, was a relatively obscure developer that had made only one noteworthy CRPG at that point. Experience was not the defining factor here. History is rife with examples of household names churning out formulaic crap and (relatively) unknown newcomers releasing games of the year such as Clair Obscur. We can agree that a future "BG3-like" game is most likely going to be a designed-by-committee disappointment, but not because Larian is an irreplaceable studio with structure and talent head and shoulders above the rest. They were just a good fit, in the right place at the right time.

I don't think you guys realize how crazy this studio is, and by the looks of it, divinity will try to make the game's physics & movement more dynamic, EVERY SINGLE GAME gets deeper & cooler & more complex and better written and more adult, like nobody does that no one in the WRPG space no one nuh huh, only larian could have made bg3 and reached these heights and divinity will be even better 100%swen vincke is a madman whose goal is to make the best rpg ever , EVER and he's still not satisfied with the upcoming game to call it ''the big one'', that's how ambitious larian is and this is why they're the best rpg studiobg3 is a success because of larian's engine whose sole and ENTIRE purpose is to make crpgs as complex as possible for the player and as simple as possible for the devs, the N+1 system allows you to challenge the game and never ever EVER get stuck somewhere because you killed X at Z so Y couldn't happenBG3 is the best crpg on the planet and larian will make divinity even better. And then they'll make an even better game. >>567893618Except I don't hate Larian. After all, they made BG3, the game of the decade. I'm only skeptical of studio tribalism because it often involves foregoing one's critical thinking to become a mindless fanboy - or, in this case, a worthless parasite that likes Swen "because Swen is liked by everyone." One might wonder why Larian's previous CRPG system is rarely discussed, if it is supposedly so much better than the D&D framework that constrained Larian's creativity so much in BG3. Perhaps it is because D&D's action economy is, by design, meant to keep things straightforward, and Larian trying to reinvent the wheel with an awkward AP system traded balance for alleged "strategic depth." Perhaps it is because class identity - what players expect of a Paladin or a Sorcerer or a Cleric - is actually valuable, and Larian trying to reinvent the wheel with a classless system traded immersion for specious "you can be anything" freedom.

>>567896203>>dos1 was the first ever fully multiplayer crpgs that even allows you to play on the couch with split screens, SPLIT SCREENSCRPGs were traditional developed for computers in which multiplayer could be done without split screens. Split screens is only necessary for consoles with a single screen. This doesn't even matter. When they were made for console they usually just developed to be entirely single player games. No split screen required.>>dos2 was the first ever fully voiced crpgThe beginning of the end for this genre. Adds nothing to the game yet attracts more normalfags. If I remember correctly though the Dragon Age games already had full VA at least for the NPCs/companions. If I remember correctly KOTOR had full VA as well. That being said's it's kinda a waste considering how much generic npc cutscenes we have in BG3 where a good portion of the npcs are just a close up on them and them saying one line before the cutscene ends kinda like what KOTOR did. >>bg3 was the first ever fully animated crpg, first crpg to win game of the year, first crpg with fully animated uncensored sex scenes, 3rd game(not rpg) with the most awards after elden ring & clair obscure expedition 33 E33 is slop. I'm not going to pretend it's good. Elden Ring was boring and just some ultra-repetitive DS3 asset-flip. BG3 is a better game than both. >without the writersNot really a loss. Most of the writing and the plot isn't very good. The reason anyone really likes BG3 is for the gameplay. It does have pretty enjoyable gameplay before Act 3. Anyone with any sort of standards views the writing as passable most of the time but not good. The reason the writers ever got awards is because it's the new game everyone likes so rewards will go to it. It did deserve it's awards that year but when all the other games are flops like Starfield or non-games and other trash, BG3 was the only game that should have gotten any attention. In a world of 5/10's, a 7/10 seems like a 10/10.

That is the kind of profoundly stupid claim that only a profoundly stupid creature could make. A focus on full voice acting or cinematic presentation is a budget-driven choice, not a bold creative decision to push the envelope that no one had ever considered before. This is why one should avoid studio tribalism. It can lead to the intellectual abyss of claiming that Bioware invented romance or that Larian invented cinematography. We love BG3 because it's a great game - not because it invented lesbians.

>>567897721>foregoing*forgoing. Proofreading matters.>>567906668What fat would you trim? I think every sentence there matters. First, we should not entertain a profoundly stupid parasite claiming that BG3 invented production value. There can be no "discussion" or exchange of ideas with it. Second, how much one values full voice acting is not particularly relevant. It helps reach a wider audience, but does not determine on its own whether a CRPG is worth playing. More to the point, the idea that BG3 was only successful because it catered to normalfags with full voice acting and a cinematic presentation is misguided, if not disingenuous. It suggests a "purity" of the genre, which supposedly existed back when voice acting was only partial, if at all present, and was then irreversibly tainted by the likes of Bioware. This framing is unfair to good games and characters. People don't like Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Astarion only because of Wilde, English, and Newbon, though these obviously did a great job. Voice acting can elevate a character but is not a substitute for characterization. I would hope that these characters would have been just as well received in a game with a lesser budget. I would hope that players did not wait for Dragon Age: Origins and its fully-voiced companions to realize that games can have memorable companions.

>>567915521>>567916000The Demon Knight's magic resistance is innate, not granted by any spell. Spell Thrust does not effect it in any way. What you're seeing in the combat log there is him resisting his own Fireball. Get used to this and pay attention to spells that ignore magic resistance or actually lower it (Lower Resistance, Pierce Magic, etc.) because you're going to see it a lot more often in BG2.
>>567940061No way to know that without cheating by looking it up on the wiki, or is there?
>>567940959If you're seeing an enemy resisting your spells due to Magic Resistance in the combat log you can safely chalk it up to innate resistance. You also gotta learn what certain spell protections (spells that protect against other spells, like Spell Turning or Minor Globe of Invulnerability) look like and you should also be able to see in the combat log if an enemy put these protections up on themselves. A lot of enemies, especially enemy mages in BG2, will start combat with a spell trigger that applies several buffs to themselves but you'll see it listed in the combat log. You also get a lot more tools to deal with this stuff in BG2. There are spells that directly lower an enemy's MR, several spells that strip spell protection buffs (like the Spell Thrust you used), even more spells that strip combat protections (spells that protect against non-spell attacks, like Stoneskin) though the Breach spell will be enough to deal with those 9 times out of 10. And then the last thing to keep in mind is that a couple of rarely encountered enemies (Liches, Demiliches, Raksasha) are just innately immune to all spells of certain levels. Liches are immune to spells levels 1-5, and so are one of the few creatures you can't rely on Breach for.
>>567941686>>567940959As an example you'll see shit like this in the combat log when combat starts against enemy spellcasters, so as long as you learn what each spell does you should be able to figure out what they are protected against and how to deal with it.
>>567941686Thanks for the info. Meanwhile I've been getting absolutely obliterated by this faggot, I think I'll have to come back to this once I level up some more. Time to finally step foot in Baldur's Gate
>>567919938>>567919870Based>>567941686In 5e wizard prep time stuff like that is basically consolidated into the Contingency spell, a shame they didn't include that in BG3 though.
wake up /bgg/ it's time for the question of the day: how do we feel about companions romancing each other when the player doesn't initiate their romance in act 1 and should larian push these subplots deeper in their next games
I'm giving those anti-woke mods a try and for the most part I think these NPC changes are pretty good. Definitely some weird unnecessary ones, though.
>>567955456Its understandable and pretty realistic but i still dont like it. Shit leads to h*lsin and Shart situation where writers just project their fetishes into characters. Never played failshit but i saw people complain that they feel like a cuck in certain romances.
>>567958308>I'm giving those anti-woke mods a trymight as well uninstall bg3
>>567958619I like bg3 well enough it's just got too many black and asian faced elves and tieflings for me.
one of my favorite thing about bg3 is how detailed the models are and the art style in general, they took a lot time making the giths & tieflings bodies look as unique as possible, it's a shame that orcs didn't get a unique body type though, I'm really looking forward to see how crazy the divinity elves, lizards & undead will look like
>>567959629Was thinking this just yesterday when I saw a snippet of the Divinity trailer. Look how freaky tall and long-fingered the elf is here.
>>567966539Love it! Freaky looking fantasy races are my jam

>>567903840Voice acting is wasted effort for a game. It's mostly just me reading and going to the next line because I can read it faster than the voice actor speaks it. Cinematography always looks terrible especially since it generally reveals the jankiness of animations and the weird shit like how the facial animations work. They still don't look any good in spite of mocap. It's never looked good and it's best if all that stuff is kept at a distance so it's obscured by that distance.

>>567979439>Cinematography always looks terrible especially since it generally reveals the jankiness of animations and the weird shit like how the facial animations work.depends on the scene, some scenes are very well choreographed and animated like the fight between emperor and the giths or myrkul's reveal keep in mind that most of the cinematics were mocapped & animated during covid and larian had a lot of trouble establishing a productive workflow between the animation team and the writers, all of these issues have been fixed for their upcoming game, divinity, and it'll look way more smooth in general, I feel like they're heading towards the right direction when it comes to pimping CRPG's flair to please the greater audience

question of the evening: would default dark urge have made an interesting companion?
>>567709536Quick, help Minthara finish her line! What is she saying?>"In Menzoberranzan..."
>>567997038we let our most most promising clerics get raped by demons
>>567996098I doubt it.First you have another amnesiac in your party, next to Shadowheart, so that's already a minus. The next issue is that having a murderhobo as companion that acts out and wants to murder people doesn't make a great companion, imagine if Larian would copy paste Durge's origin into a companion story>find Alfira murdered>he lunges after Isobel without input>tries to murder you / another companion while you sleep>their personal quest fails unless you let them 1v1 Orin>If Durge accepts Bhaal's blessing, they will attempt to hijack the brain and force you into the bad endingMost people would just murder / not recruit Durge because the game turns into a tardwrangling simulator.

We already discussed a lot about why we should have people like Astarion, Minthara and Lae'zel in our party, Durge could fit right in.>>567998708....Liquid Minthy?!

thoughts on shadowheart?
>>567999709Dirty.
The moronic swine that wishes Shadowheart had been a werewolf. The lizard fetishist parasite that wishes default Dark Urge had been a companion. There is a pattern.>>567997869I'll never understand why you choose to entertain the parasite or the attention-seeking swine. These creatures are not looking for actual discussion or to be convinced, and to them you're just another pretext to post more slop.

>>567999709made for hugs and kisses
>>567999709sex
>>568000826Here is the attention whore "discussing" Shadowheart:>I kinda wish the Helia subplot and character development hadn't taken away from Shart the subplotline of her being a werewolf like her father, at least ideally. It would have justified her gentle nature and passion for animals, and it would have been cool to see a sort of "big reveal" with Selunite Shart, who, after regaining her memory, remembers having this power.Wishing Shadowheart had another secret furry identity culminating in a "big reveal," like that climactic scene in a capeshit movie, is definitely thought-provoking. Discussing what could have been is an endless exercise in futility, but also a good pretext to post more pigslop. (Minthara and Astarion are already covered. Who's next?) Question of the day - are characters nothing more than bags of tropes that can be added, subtracted, and repurposed until the desired ratio is reached?

bg3 feet tier list1. Shadowheart2. Orin3. Minthara4. Mizora5. Isobel6. Dame Aylin7. Jaheira8. Karlach9. Lae'zel
>>567979439I've already addressed that above. I can repeat the relevant part.>More to the point, the idea that BG3 was only successful because it catered to normalfags with full voice acting and a cinematic presentation is misguided, if not disingenuous. It suggests a "purity" of the genre, which supposedly existed back when voice acting was only partial, if at all present, and was then irreversibly tainted by the likes of Bioware.Your clarification here damages your already tenuous credibility. Voiced dialogue is not merely text delivered at a speaking speed by more or less competent actors. The implicit opposition - "wasted" voice acting as a substitute for slow-witted normalfags accustomed to passive media consumption, "pure" text needing no more than the words themselves for literate, time-conscious players - is absurd, even at face value. The argument reduces pacing, tone, emotion, and uncertainty to information that is supposedly conveyable through narration, anon said matter-of-factly. It ignores that a statement as simple as "You can trust me" might be intentionally open to interpretation - and that narration might become intrusive when it resolves ambiguity, anon said after a brief pause. Ironically, this aspect of communication I'm describing is already encoded in D&D's Charisma-based roleplaying. A [Deception] or [Persuasion] check might fail or succeed based on the exact same words. The delivery from the player character, thankfully absent in BG3, is no less critical because it is only implied.

bg3's lead writer thinks that bg3's main issue writing wise was the lack of interaction between the companions & other major characters would you agree with him? I definitely think that it's a major missed opportunity but bg3's writing definitely jumps the shark in act 3 and that's a bigger issue than companions treating each other like strangers or orin & gortash not reacting to each other's moves that much, the plot is way too messy, tries to do way too much things at once and handwaves major & interesting characters(gortash & Orin, the tieflings,Aylin & isobel, arguably raphael) to give the spotlight to characters I just don't care about(orpheus, the brain(can't even call it a character LMAO & emperor), the climax was ASS, the final fight was boring both mechanically & story wise>big ass red dragon shows up while you're getting spammed by magic missiles wowZzzzzzthoughts? hopes?

>>568040714ive never seen the naked body of an adult woman in my life
Finally beat this game with my mom. I forgot how long it takes to finish a playthrough damn. Her companion ranking after beating the game:Gale > Astarion = Karlach > Shadowheart > Jaheira > Wyll > Lae'zel > Halsin > Minsc > MintharaShe ended up liking most of the companions. Her opinion on Astarion changed a lot after finishing his quest. She even liked Lae'zel even though she won't admit it. She didn't care much for Halsin, Minsc or Minthara though. Halsin didn't have much interesting dialogue, Minsc was just "dumb", and she never really warmed to Minthara at all.
