Also as an aside I think it's very funny that while spamming way too many keys in the 10-12 range for trinkets I've come across way more dps who use their entire kit including defensives and utilities, offheals etc and and go out of their way to do mechanics (while paradoxically doing abysmal dps) vs higher keys where people can blast on packs but let really obvious deadly casts go through and seem to forget they have health pots or that they need to wall overlaps or do retarded things like bodypull random packs. I feel like a lot of people doing 19s and 20s just run keys all day every day without really trying to learn what's going on mechanics wise and end up eventually timing them from the sheer volume of attempts where they hit the one run where playing like a jackass doesn't brick the key by some sort of accidental miracle.

Everyone should just get uniform gear and you can adjust the secondary stats to make unique builds. Any truly competitive sport doesn't allow you to use better equipment then your opponent. I understand what you are trying to say, but it does not change the fact that things like motorsports are exactly that and do exist despite it and are insanely popular despite it too.
Sometimes things are allowed to just exist, there are plenty of other games you can go pvp in with far more level playing fields, I myself mostly play fighting, rts and mmo pvp (wow and gw2) games because I find the way they approach the idea of challenging an opponent in different and unique/fun ways. I think part of the problem with discourse around worlo pvp is some players put a lot of time genuinely becoming great players... at raiding or M+ or other forms of content in the game. It is not to discredit them to say that PvP is a different video game than M+ or raiding and therefor they should not expect to fully grasp every aspect right away. There is a lot of crossover, yes, but enough is different that a shit ton of people get caught thinking their 3k M+ io translates to anything whatsoever in pvp. It would be like going from street fighter to smash, but not the smash that is usually played competitively but rather full items random stages smash with everything enabled. There is an audience for full items random stages exploits allowed smash-like PvP video games, and world of warcraft has from the very beginning always been that type of pvp game. The players that pvp forever and always enjoy this are the ones that understand this, the ones that rage out to other games and refuse to ever touch the pvp side of wow again are honestly the reasonable ones. If you go to friday night magic expecting draft play but find everyone brought no restrictions whatsoever EDH decks with custom proxy cards also you can use pokemon energy as land you would probably be pissed too. That does not make those players any less real and part of the card game market, however. You would have to be a pretty fucking immature retard to come back every week and make a scene about how they don't even play legit magic instead of finding another card shop that does.

I would rather more people get into gw1 pvp, it's actually been popping off recently since they've been updating the game again. If it isn't free to play yet I am pretty sure it is going to be soon so you will have nothing to lose making a pvp character. You don't need to level or anything either you watch a youtube video about a cookie cutter build and just jump right in.

I legitimately think wow pvp is some of the most fun you can have in any pvp game.
Really fast while not being too fast, lots of variety, very responsive, lots of power moments that make you feel good, graphic design and clarity are really good, I really enjoy it.

Letting people just make whatever disgustingly broken build they wanted and kill 20+ players solo is something I have never seen in another mmo. Nightblades would sneak around faster then mounted speed on full glass canon builds and one shot people whilst never being detected. Tanks could actually hold 40+ players and were totally unkillable until they got bored. There was a gimmick suicide bomber build that could nuke an entire army. The things that made it fun probably killed it though. Too many newbies getting insta killed and just quitting I imagine. Will always be the goat of mmo pvp. Wow feels like playing with toy weapons and having choreographed stage fights compared to the pure speed and chaos of eso.
