I think some level of segregation is unavoidable especially between the Pokémon that display migratory behaviour, as they would keep to themselves because outside bonds could get complicated when it's time to migrate. Even if one member of a migration group was fine with staying behind and never evolving, him leaving would effectively weaken the group as a whole, which would be frowned upon.

Yes, the fact that it's not just one, but two major legendaries is fucking egregious and reeks of special snowflake OC disorder, regardless of how "Not OP" that anon thinks they can write them.
My question is, if you're trying so hard to make them "not too OP", then why the fuck are they even legendaries in the first place?

I propose that anon change the species of his two characters to actual normal pokemon, and change nothing else about his stories.

I liked his stories when I was able to not be reminded that it's a Suicune and a Lugia.
I think he has real potential if he came back and literally just swapped the species to something like a a Ducklett and a Stoutland.

Mama Lax's Inn is a severely underrated setting, and it works so well with your characters. Makky trying to justify not admitting he's a human was very interesting to read. He trusts Asana enough to admit he's clearly lying but it has to hurt Asana that he won't just tell the truth outright. Jung's characters in this chapter work very well, it's nice seeing him in writing after all this time. The fight scene was done very well too, both parties seemed to be underestimating each other nonstop.

I've decided to try something new: flash fiction, quick mini-stories with no more than 1,000 words.

My stories usually end up being much longer than I want them to be, and I spend way too much time writing and proofreading them. I want to try making some shorter, snappier stories to practice being more concise (and to practice writing in general). It's somewhat similar to the "Booker's Journal" thing I tried doing last year, but this time, I'll make sure everything is under 1,000 words.

Anyway, here's "Samaritan" (997 words), in which Booker and Sneasel help a stranger in a dungeon. I hope you like it.

I just finished it (postgame story) with Riolu and Eevee and Eevee is terrible thanks to her ability of ”guess I’ll just lay down and die” that triggers when her health drops below 50%, but Riolu is so strong that he more than makes up for it. This also false. Twitter, reddit, and Discord have been way more active since 2020 (thanks to both Rescue Team DX and SkyTemple). Activity increased a lot in August (because of Red Rescue Team on Nintendo Switch Online), now random YouTubers are making PMD discussion videos (which is normally rare) because they're getting more views on those. It's just /vp/ that largely doesn't care about PMD anymore.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as someone who used to make about a dozen posts per thread, I haven't posted here in months because I got tired of all the discord drama. The incident that really blackpilled me on this thread and got me to really let go was seeing a heated autistic argument about some game mechanic or lore thing and going "w-well, at least the sperging is on-topic this time?" before seeing it devolve into namedropping and accusing each other of being mad over x or y other argument... The realization that even the game arguments had become extensions of discord arguments is what finally killed my last bit of interest in the thread, so at most I only lurk now. If I want to talk about PMD these days, I just message one of my friends instead.

Maybe I just got here during a particularly quiet period, but I've seen very little real arguing that's shitted up the thread to the point that it's suffocating actual game discussion.

I think letting you pick whoever in Rescue Team was the original intent, as the game still has partner-only portraits and animations programmed in. (pic related is an example) My guess is that they decided to lock the partner selection after playtesters got stuck or something, as certain combinations would make the game pretty difficult. (this is probably also why they decided to give the extra starters in Sky 1 egg move each)
You can use a code to force the partner and all this stuff will work, unfortunately they do lack the few lines of in-dungeon dialogue.

I'm sure it's a clover discord, but whenever I see it leak into here it's usually more about "this guy was shittalking that guy in VC!" or "wow this post was clearly made by _anon because he's angry right now" when I can remember no posts indicating such in the preceding threads to make them think that. I suppose it could be from the drawboard chat instead, but the distinction between which offsite discussion the drama has leaked in from isn't really significant, it all shits up the thread either way. There's drama over writing stuff too sometimes, but that's distinct in that it's usually spawned in the thread proper in reaction to a new story or a writer stating their intention to do something, and is honestly inevitable when it comes to collaborative settings anyway. Not sure it's ever gotten too terribly bad on that specific front.

You must've just barely missed it, but one thing I noticed is that it can get pretty bad for a few threads in a row and then all of the sudden reset back to 0, as if they realized "oh shit this must look pretty bad to outsiders", before gradually ramping back up to a little worse than the last time, then back to 0 again, rinse and repeat. Like when the boss walks in and everyone pretends to work before going back to slacking off when he leaves and the attention is off them.

They'll mention something that's happened in the discord, or rarely even post a screenshot of it. And once you notice that, you'll connect the dots when you see some hostile namedropping in response to a post that has nothing to do with clover or anything people have posted about under a name/avatar, and realize it's only recognizable to people that know each other offsite and had been discussing these things outside of the thread (likely recently, unless you remember every random unassuming opinion your friends share about everything no matter how far back)

Pretty low-energy compared to the later sperging that really put me off of the thread, but it was one of the first signs of trouble, and hey, it's the only one I had anywhere close to on-hand. Here is someone from within the discord discussing it, mentioning people in it by name, and even a response by another member. Nobody responded saying "what are you on about, you're not me/there is no discord" at least, so seems legit to me.

Anyways, to pre-empt the replies by guildies I know I'm about to recieve, it doesn't matter if it's not bombarding the thread at every moment. If it gets bad enough for a moment to drive off a few posters, they aren't going to be checking the next few threads going "is it good now? no... okay what about now? no..." until they come back, they're just going to stop posting. If you're at a reastaurant and the staff start shitting on the tables, multiple of them at once and not just a single crazy guy about to quit, you're not going to notice that they didn't do it the next day... because you didn't come back to that restaurant at all after that. Same thing here, especially when discords are already a touchy subject (which the guild knows, which is why they used to dodge the question or deny its existence when it came up). Most posters have already seen firsthand what happens to a general when it gets a discord, so they don't need to see that much of it here to already see the writing on the walls.

No, the thread is noticeably less active than the same time last year. People wouldn't be bringing it up and turning it into a discussion if it wasn't. For that matter, last summer (or winter for you) seemed more active than this one too, I even remember people posting rescue codes left and right, even non-regulars including that guy asking someone to rescue his nephew or little cousin or whatever. There were barely any this year, in comparison.

We've always had new people come in and post about their playthroughs, I've even posted about mine in the past, but for all of the "Just started out, here's my team!" posts, when's the last time you saw those same posters posting about reaching Primal Dialga/Rayquaza? Or fuck, even about reaching midway through the campaign? Clearly, there's some reason they don't feel like sticking around after making a few posts here.

I've found that basically every grass starter is good to use, even Chikorita. Most status moves are good and Bullet Seed carries me every time if I can get my hands on it. It seems like feuds behind the scene leading to calling each other out in public around the site is a recurrent behavior for this group. This "there's no drama in those places you can't see, if there is then provide examples of every single incident!" shtick only works if you don't put the examples out in the open for non-members to run into.

You're attacking a straw man. I said there's very little drama, not zero drama, but you keep putting the words "drama-free" in my mouth.
And that stuff you dug up is irrelevant. So, some people in the group don't like each other? Big fucking whoop. Can't expect everyone to be on perfectly good terms all the time. But outside of a couple problems here and there, which is normal for any group, I think things are fine. We're still making OC, every thread hits bump limit, and people are still hanging out and having fun together, no matter how much you whine and insult people.

In RT it's not really much of an issue, as Eevee cannot be chosen as the partner. I think the ability's effect was mainly intended for enemies you encounter, similar to Truant which makes the game absolutely unplayable if it's on your team.
Run Away may be one of the reasons they cut Eevee in favor of far less popular mons like Skitty in Time/Darkness, but it was brought back to Sky anyway. (didn't get saved from being snubbed yet again in Super)
