>>56960109I have 500 hours so it's good if you have a bit of imagination and skip the story/tutorial, like any recent Pokémon game anyway, but at least there is a lot more liberty in this one to actually have fun. Gen 8 and 9 were abysmal levels of bad and there is nothing you can do to save them. It's not a PLA issue, it's a GameFreak issue anyway, all of the recent Pokémon games are filled with padding, bad story and mediocre gameplay, PLA at least as a gameplay good enough to actually enjoy yourself. Didn't feel like that for a Pokémon game for so many years now.

What if regular pokemon had a CTB battle system with bravely defaulting?
PLA isn't really the best Pokemon game by any means or even a particularly good Pokemon game but it's still a cool experience because of the wild Pokemon behavior. They did a really good job giving each Pokemon its own personality in the wild. You don't really get to see that side of them in any other game except for Snap (which IS a really good game, both the new and the old ones).
