This could have been salvageable if it was 1 discard. Then it can at least come out as a meatshield or something. But in general I think you should be asking if Metal is mandated to be shit because it's by far the worst type in the fucking game. SolGAYo was good in spite of being Metal just because it came out so fast, could freely jump into active, hit hard, and the "recoil" damage was so little that it literally didn't even matter. It's like they had to overtune that one specific Pokemon in order to work, cause otherwise the type is just flat out dogshit even despite Fairy Pokemon being such a dominant threat. Grass at least has good tanks and some cool synergy picks. Metal is just flat out "uhhh what if uhhh....mon got two-shot instead of one-shot...but uhhh.......also did shit damage and was slow?" for like every single fucking mon.

I have a similar one but with 2 sniper Luxrays and 2 giant capes which help birds survive burn longer and Lux tank 1 from blaziken. Oh also 1 Red helps. I almost never lose against megas and rarely against EXs unless I brick, but exless decks are usually not a great matchup.

Mega Gyarados is honestly pretty shit. It is only ever good if you get it online early enough for the 4 card mill to kill your opponent's strats, but with a 4 energy requirement only a good Misty roll can accomplish that and in every other scenario your opponent will have a full setup and the mill will not matter at all, and then it's in range to get 2 tapped by just about any big hitter.
