I have a few assumptions about Absol and Dark Types at large. I think in the same way Water Types manipulate water. Grass Types control plants etc, I think Dark Types' whole thing is they all manipulate and harness negative energy. It's like an oriental thing, their culture has this superstitious attitude historically where if something tragic/unlucky happens to you it's often attributed to that person having too much negative energy. Bad chi. An aura of darkness. The dark side of the Force in Star Wars. That sort of thing.What Dark Pokemon are really doing is acting cruel and doing other bad things like stealing and manipulating others because doing this produces negative energy for them to use. Wicked deeds are the fuel for their special powers, that's why they always use underhanded battle tactics. This is for MOST Dark Pokemon. Where Absol is different is its horn. The horn senses negative energy (especially the really REALLY big kind like an approaching natural disaster in which many people will die) it's like an antenna that lets it read bad chi. This lets Absol be Dark Type without actually needing to act underhanded. It can just sense the natural negative vibes flowing in the world and harness those.In theory Absol should be able to use its horn to detect any negative energy in anything. It thus knows who is evil and untrustworthy. It knows who is unlucky and is doomed with a bad fortune. And the fact it gets Super Luck is because it's sensing bad things before they happen and dodging them. Absol sensed that dinner plate was about to fall, so it caught it in time. Etc. Absol is just a Bad Vibes detector really.
I like that Absol warns people of disaster but i always kind of found it funny that Absol can't actually speak or really do anything about it. So if it wants to warn someone that bad things are about to happen, this most it can do is bark at them and stand there awkwardly hoping they get the point.I think it'd be cool if whenever it's Shit Is About To Hit The Fan time, Absol's forehead dot shines blood red like a warning beacon and its eyes glow ominously. People would see this very creepy sight followed immediately by misfortune and understandably assume Absol was using terrible cursed magic on them to cause disaster, because they don't realize the red light beacon means "run asshole, get the hell out of here while you still can".
