>lego released the 18+ $650 starter set>$60 eevee>$200 pikachuSummer>smart play slop that will be overpriced and only available in 6 countries at launch>they delayed the 18+ pokeball display set with minifigures and molded pokemon to october and increased the price from $260 to $300>last normal 18+ sets are rayquaza, arcanine and munchlaxHas there ever been a more fucked up launch in the history of the franchise? Lego were given the BIGGEST IP in the world and did this with it...

>>59297677Thought we’d get some pokemon minifigs and locations from the games/anime to battle in. Not this.Idk where to even find these.
It's just too expensive for shelf decorations, they really should have focused more on playability rather than going straight for collector money. And that is coming from someone who collects the botanical sets
>>59297699>And that is coming from someone who collects the botanical setsconsider unaliving

What's the point of them being Lego if you're never going to take them apart again? I used to love Bionicle but I was always swapping their parts and shit.
>>59297950Why not?
>>59297950"Adult Lego", which depending on who you ask started with the Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Series, or the Architecture line, has always been designed as accessible model kits for people who don't want to/don't have time to cut, paint and glue pieces together. Meanwhile, Lego in general became more elaborate and adopted more and more specialized pieces when Bionicle became a hit, though Bionicle at least mostly stuck close to the Technic system until close to the end. It was this specialization that made licensed sets increasingly elaborate. The very specialized pieces are expensive to manufacture but that lends itself to expensive adult-aimed sets, after all, you can specialize pieces until they're making pretty good (and not immediately "Lego") interpretations of something. Hence, most Lego lines today have an adult-oriented subset that costs an arm and a leg but are intended as display pieces. As an example, here's the original UCS X-Wing from 2000, which is elaborate but still has that chunky Legoness to it.
>>59297950>>59298039And here's the 2023 UCS X-Wing.

>>59297680The studs make this set really ugly. Why does the tail just have them placed at seemingly random? Would it have been too much to just have plates to smooth it out?
yeah i think i'll still with MEGA bloks
Enjoy playing megablocks with no pokémon licence hey. Whole reason Lego has it now it TPC took it away from mega to give it to the superior brick system (that also charges premium rates to further increase the profit for TPC).
