Mario Adventure 3 just dropped.
https://marioadventure3.com/versions
He released an update which nerfs some levels. So I have pre-patched ROMs of both versions.

This got me interested. Did a little digging, it's called Streets Of Rage 2 : Adam Hunter
I Found a video, unfortunately the link is toast.

The trail is getting warmer... perhaps someone in this thead has a copy laying around

sadly they aren't the same hack is clear by looking the pics, the ones on the chinese site have custom enemies that look like whores or something like that even shiva is a custom character sadly the .club:port/ seems a custom protocol for certain countries.

I tried the xiazai.derekblog.club root domain, it's gone. I think it's just a defunct blog. Common tale.
> custom protocol for certain countries.
Possible, but unlikely, you could try a chinese proxy, but i'm guessing it's just another dead website.
> they aren't the same hack
Right, it seems as if the chinese hacker built on top of that one adding more material, but that is absolutely the adam character in the pictures. Chinese hackers have no shame lol.
>>
>>11263216
this is why i want it, i don't care if is adam hack with more stuff i want it because of the more stuff.
is kinda similar to the streets of paprium hack that is dead with mediafire links giving "the file was removed because of a copyright violation" despite others SOR hacks having no issues, wanted to see how it played since the author took the sprites of paprium dump and used it in SOR3.

Anons I'm contemplating writing an IPS patcher tool for Linux/Unix. Would there be demand for that?
>>
>>11263913
Yes, because I use a Steam Deck as my main PC.
>>
>>11263942
Alright sick I didn't think of that use case
>>
>>11263942
Do people primarily use the steamdeck with the touchscreen? I feel like navigating a mouse GUI like picrel would be difficult with a finger
>>
>>11263976
IDK about other people, but I have the docking station. Outside that, most people would probably use the touchpads or the analogue sticks instead.

A nice thought, but Floating IPS already runs great on Linux. If you need alternatives there's a list right on its page. I don't want to shit on your fun but if you wanted to know whether it's well trod ground... it is.
https://github.com/Alcaro/Flips

On the other hand, games themselves have tons of different forms of internal compression and people have barely scratched the surface. There's so many poorly examined games you could write a little editor for. Even good tools tend to have blind spots, data tables you can only get at with a hex editor. Reverse engineering is a whole other can of worms but I'm sure some games already have the docs and it's just the utilities that are shit or nonexistent
>>
>>11264383
The thing is there is no IPS patcher in the repos, and Floating IPS requires the GTK library to work. I wanted to try to rely on no existing GUI framework.

>>11264131
That's just the library for the file picker window I thought of using. I'd rather keep things minimal.
>>
>>11263913
>Would there be demand for that?
For what? Some tard jank? There are multiple tools for linux, including source. If somehow one doesn't fit your needs you could knock out one that does in under an hour if you can code you way out of a wet paper bag.

>>
>>11265076
Flips has a cli version, and a number of other tools can also apply ips patches (ucon64 etc). Linux users are able to use the command line anon

Also this is kinda conflicting

>library for file picker

It makes sense if you're so clueless you couldn't even find any existing ones on your own and thought you'd just come up with the greatest idea since sliced bread.
The kind of guy who thinks "the repos" means anything and doesn't realize there's plenty of other ways to distribute shit, including making your own repo
>>
>>11266674
It's funnier because Flips is in the default repo for my distro

I wished this was real, lol.

>>
>>11266747
Yeah, why didn’t they do this? Missed opportunity. The sprites would have had to be really small but it would definitely have been possible. This would have printed money and been super kino.

I no-joke think this needs to be studied. It's a *given* that someone this deep into emudev and game hacking is some sort of person of gender. What in the actual fuck? I don't hate them for it, but I'd like to understand it a little more. It's WEIRD.

>"the repos" means anything and doesn't realize there's plenty of other ways to distribute shit,
Well I'm on Linux Mint and there isn't any IPS patcher here. FLIPS is not to be found. I think that's reasonable grounds to investigate a solution.
>>
>>11268190
Later day saints. Mormons.
I've got some family into that, but we don't see them very often.
>>
>>11268237
I've never heard of them being into emulation and romhacking. Name some. The only recurring phenomenon I know about with Mormons is how often they're feds.
>>
>>11268486
Ok, I only know of three or four individuals. That may not be a significant sample size. I have some family that's in it, and one of the girls has turned into a hyper-feminist-super-slut. I think she may be reacting to some abuse, possibly facilitated by the cult.
>>
>>11268172
There's a cluster of personality types that are predisposed to Weimar/post-Occupy stuff, and they easily get sucked into weird social media groups that detach them from reality. Plenty of tech hobbyists steer clear, but the rainbow types are very vocal about their fantasies.

>>11268486
I only knew of a guy called Weasel into LDS. He went on some missionary trip to Peru and largely disappeared. But that was over a decade ago.

Indeed. And that would consist entirely of doing a quick google search and downloading the tool you need. Not embarrassing shit like >>11263913 >>11265076

Do you know if a ROM for Amazon’s Training Road is floating around as well? It’s also produced by Limited Run Games
>>
>>11269047
I just did a fairly deep search (relative to my shitty, amateur standards), but the only relevant thing I found is that LRG apparently provided a rom version of it. Meaning there's no dump around right now, but that we will definitely eventually get one.
>>
>>11269047
why would you want a censored version of a free game
>>
>>11269029
Oh sweet!, Thanks!.

Might need to update the repository of Afternarket games i have.
>>
>>11269531
It has new features like a sound test. Stupid that it's censored, for sure (at least if it's supposed to be the same "story" as the original has), but that's Limited Run Gays for you.
