that games just stupid hard and then it gets harder. maybe one of the hardest platformers ever.

so long as you got the hudson bee at the end of the first lvl, and can continue, just stick with it. it IS hard, but its not impossible, and you might surprise yourself with how far you can get. the later lvls do require some memorization and some ridiculously tight timing. but you should be able to do it if you just throw yourself at it enough times.
if you can beat this game, you should be able to beat pretty much any other platformer ever made

Depends on what you mean by cheesing, but which stage you go to is not random. It's decided by which egg you pick on pic related. You have to figure out which egg takes you where by trial and error, but after enough runs you'll have a set path through the first couple worlds to get enough resources to deal with the latter worlds.
