Why does no one have nostalgia for Tom clancy kino? It's always just slop
>>
>>12160159
I only played splinter cell, that is a bit similar like MGS.

ghost recon is a "shooter" like doom games and call of duty?

Then rainbow six is a tatctical shooter with 4 guys that move slowly and is third person shooter?
Did I get it right, every game?
>>
>>12160159
I only played Ghost Recon. It was one of my top 5 favorite games for a long time.
>>
rogue spear and chaos theory are widely regarded as best in genre, shut the fuck up zoomer filth.
>>
>>12160159
How hard are those games? From what I understand they are very slow and realistic and you can die in one or two hits
>>
>>12160159
Only played the first Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon & Ghost Recon 2.
Only Rainbow Six game I played was Vegas but that's not retro. I'm normally not into that stuff, but sometimes one will hook me.
>>
>>12160159
xboxslop is very kino because they are moviegames, saar
>>
>>12160258
Brain dead post
>>
>>12160281
yes
>>
>>12160159
well ive never heard of half of those titles but people definitely revere the original rainbox six, ghost recon, and splinter cell. also i recall graw and double agent being 360 games so im not sure if the og xbox versions were any good
>>
>>12160159
Chaos Theory is a universally revered game, what are you on about?

I do THO. I'm too lazy to take a picture of what I have between PC and Xbox so you'll have to settle for a topster.
>>
>>12160159
>>12160573
Are there any good Tom Clancy games besides the big 3 series?
>>
>>12160159
>Tom clancy? It's always just slop
>>
>>12160642
Truthfully, the big 3 are all I've tried. I know you have The Division and End War but I never tried those.
>>
>>12160646
There's also HAWX which is an arcade flight game
>>
>>12160159
for me it's ghost recon island thunder

Except they do? Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six are well known franchises, and still have active fanbases.

>>12160170
And then you go and samefaggot like a retard. You're either:

A) Trying really hard to start a Tom Clancy thread without looking like a shill
B) Or you have some weird autistic hatred of the brand.

>>12160646
What do you mean the "big 3"? As in franchises, titles? All 3 Splinter Cells are great. Rainbow Six 1, 2, and 3 are all great on PC. Ghost Recon 1 and 2 are both good, though different experiences. Ghost Recon 2 is better on the Xbox than the Playstation. GRAW is better on PC.
>>
>>12160159
Most of those games bombed on the Xbox.
No nostagia at all.
Now go back to your Halo.
>>
>>12162467
>no nostalgia at all
If you were talking about Critical Hour, Lockdown, Black Arrow, or GRAW, you'd be correct.

Unfortunately, you're a fucking idiot, who blatantly ignored Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon 2, which were wildly successful on the OG Xbox, and are quite fondly remembered.
>>
>>12162515
number of copies are very low. don't care about 10 people remembering the game
>>
>>12160159
out of the games in that image I'm only missing summit strike, OG Rainbow Six 3 and Rainbow Six Critical Hour. Me and my pops loved clancy shit, hell my dad still plays. Think he has 2000 hours logged in breakpoint and all of it is purely offline. He never could get into splinter cell before conviction, stealth wasn't his strong suit.
>>
>>12160159
I never liked the early Ghost Recon games because it was just a crosshair. It's shallow, I know. 2 and on it was pretty fun, though. Future Soldier is still my favorite.

Same goes for early Rainbow Six games. The crosshair was a huge turn off. RS3 and on is when I started to like them. Vegas 1 being my favorite.

Love all the Splinter Cell games, even both versions of Double Agent and Essentials

Hawx was pretty fun but I prefer Ace Combat

EndWar was a fun idea but I was never into the genre, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone just wanted a game where it combined all the Tom Clancy franchise into 1 game, sneaking, military ops, flying, urban ops.

The Division, only liked the first game, but this really isn't a Tom Clancy game, ubisoft just slapped the name on the box because they were too insecure about a new IP, and wanted to retain the license after Tom Clancy's Recent Deathâ„¢

we're way overdue for a new word filter on this god-forsaken site

Every time you get upset by some new kid meme, they just feel justified using it man. I'm just glad you kids stopped saying ??? Profit and ftw.
>>
>>12163026
>new
???
calling everything 'slop' is three years old now
>>
>>12160159
I enjoyed Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, but those aren't retro. Never got into any of the other games.
>>12162857
I know it allows you to see more around you, but not having a visible weapon model on screen irks me too. It's a bizarre design decision for series focused on realism.
>>
>>12160159
My first Tom Clancy game was the GBA one
>>
>>12162410
Yeah they obviously mean the big 3 Tom Clancy Franchises, SC, R6 and GR
>>
>>12163390
One of the Splinter Cell games or Rogue Spear?
>>
>>12162857
>>12163086
I can tell you this: Setting up a mission in R6 so the whole thing plays out with minimal interference from yourself and the watching the replay in 3rd person view and switching between the teams is one of my gaming highlights of the last 35 years. It's satisfying as fuck.
>>
I enjoyed the rainbow 6 vegas games for what they were.
>>
>>12160642
there's the sum of all fears but it's mostly just a rainbow six clone
>>
>>12163680
ghost recon***
>>
>>12160159
I liked them have them for ps2 and pc including a big box rogue spear, great stuff
>>
My favorite Tom Clancy game was Endwar
>>
>>12162467
Most of those games were on PC and PS2 as well, so cope.
>>
>>12162410
>What do you mean the "big 3"? As in franchises, titles?
Yeah, franchises. Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. That's what I meant by the "big 3".
>>
>>12162539
>number of copies
Ghost Recon 2 sold 1.4 million copies
Splinter Cell 1 sold 4.5 million copies
Rainbow Six 3 sold 2.2 million copies.
Chaos Theory sold 2.5 million copies
Pandora Tomorrow sold 2.8 million copies
Ghost Recon 1 sold 1.1 million copies

Altogether they sold around 14.5 million copies, not counting all of the other games listed.

You're an idiot. Kill yourself you stupid faggot.
>>
>>12160573
i really liked blacklist
>>
I play chaos theory spies vs mercs on pc pretty much every night
>>
I don't have nostalgia because I'm playing them for the first time, they're good
>>
>>12164053
This is across every platform

Like I said >bombed on the Xbox.
Only the first splinter cell and ghost recon broke above 1million copies sold on the Xbox. Chaos Theory is not even on the top 20 best selling games
Proof that nostalgia for Tom Clancy games does not align with the Xbox.
>>
I think you have to be about 45, and fixated on the fantasy of defending America from "the reds", to be into Tom Clancy as a thing.
>>
Only Tom Clancy game Im nostalgic for is The Division, I still log into the empty MMO and run around the city in awe.

And there being no players is fine because of the setting.

>I can have every Tom Clancy game on my steam deck on the go
>can stream it to my tv or pc whenever I want via steam link or dock
What a time to be alive.
It's a bitch to set everything up, but once you have it all set, it's smooth sailing.
also has anyone played the gba SC games? thoughts? from what I've seen online, a lot of people didn't like them. Idk why, I'm really liking SC1 so far(well besides that oil rig level, good lord)
>>
>>12165871
>i don't know why
because the games are nothing more than pro-USA military propaganda to get children and retards interested in joining the armed forces. and worst of all, they were just trash games with fuck all substance to them that all generally looked and played the same.
>>
>>12165871
Double Agent was in PS2? Thats gotta be a raunchy ass port
>>
>>12164053
>counts releases on every system
embarrassing. this is on par with that spectrum faggot's mental breakdown in the other thread.
>>12165108
>Proof that nostalgia for Tom Clancy games does not align with the Xbox.
it doesn't align with reality. it's a reinvention of history courtesy of the dumbest fucking morons on this website. in no version of reality are clancy labelled games good, memorable or have any nostalgia attached to them. this is why i would find all of these trash games being sold for $1 or $2 in second hand stores. nobody wanted them.
>>
>>12165902
Looks okay actually. Ubisoft Montreal always tried to squeeze every bit out of a platform.
https://youtu.be/6K3o0RH6pJg?si=nlBk8VR6O-Qmyyb4&t=190
I don't know how much content was cut though.

Emulation kinda sucks for the superior OG Xbox version.
>>
>>12165902
A lot of people consider the Last Gen version of SCDA the best version because it's like a sequel to CT, gameplay wise, just not as good as CT. There's even a Train level that's not in the Next Gen version! and a boss fight, yes, a Splinter Cell boss fight.
It's still great cause you're technically getting two Splinter Cell games for 1 sequel, 3 if you count Essentials. I miss when games did this.
Last Gen version had Coop as well, Next Gen had MP.
Double Agent has always been a weird sequel because you actually get more out of the story if you've played the other versions. When you piece them together and omit some parts, you end up with a more complete picture of the whole story. It's kinda fun but messy as well.
>>
>>12160159
many great games, ubisoft just shit up the vibes by releasing too much slop.
>>
>>12165894
For God's sake, Fisher! They're our greatest ally! The mission's over. Hell, I don't think we can even bring you back to the States...

>Y-Y-YOU COUNTED ITS SALES ACROSS EVERY PLATFORM
Uhh, yea, dipshit? What are you, fucking stupid? Why wouldn't I?

>bombed on the xbox
Not what you said, dumb faggot cunt retard, you said "no nostalgia at all". OP was asking about the games, not the specific platforms they released on, dumb cunt. Contrary to what you might think, this is NOT an Xbox thread.

I played metal gear and socom, but I recently picked up ghost recon but won't have nostalgia for it for another 10 years
>>
>>12165110
So you have to be based to like them?

Based.
>>
>>12165904
Seeing as Tom Clancy, as a brand, is one of the highest grossing video game franchises ever, with 114 million units total sold as of 2025, you'd have to be really fucking stupid to believe the complete fucking retarded shit you just said, unironically.
>>
>>12166417
The whole subject here is the original xbox and tom clancy games.
And idk why are you mad about people calling out the below average nature of most clancy games?
You know most of them are shit, with zero replayability, zero challenge and a good definition of movie games. Refuse to accept this because you are blinded by nostalgia.
>>
Just beat Splinter Cell 1 the other day for the first time. Really rough game and I can see why it's held in much lower regard than Hitman or MGS.

Just the way AI works, the controls, the shitty platforming, the wonky detection system, the forced combat sections, the corny dark/light system, too many issues started piling up even if some of the mission designs were fun and creative.

Also it was the Xbox version which is probably the worst version as it's far harder than GCN/PS2/PC but also zero quicksaves.

That elevator section on the final level was just insanely stupid, and sums up a lot of my issues with the game. You come down an open elevator in the middle of a bright room with no cover and with low-ground disadvantage, and you get 5 heavily armored goons instantly alerted and spread out who can each kill you in a tiny fraction of a second, meanwhile you move like a slug, have inaccurate aim, slow movement, even just swapping to full-auto takes several seconds, and useless equipment that offers no help. Then right after this is ANOTHER forced bullshit combat section against heavily armored enemies in the very next room, who somehow can instantly see you even in the pitch-black like a fucking T-1000 (despite not being able to see you even in dim light earlier in the level)

So I look up online and think I must be missing something and apparently you're meant to just beeline right past the first room of enemies as the soldiers stare straight at you and don't shoot or follow you, then they just disappear right as you enter the next room. It's so fucking stupid and asinine. PS2 version (which I wish I played) has combat that is much less unfair, unforgiving bullshit, but also allows you to take stairs down instead of being trapped in an elevator in the middle of a room with no cover. Then in the next section with the total blackout, on the PS2, the enemies can't just instantly see you in the dark, as it should be.

Also wtf is up with no mission stats/ranking?
>>
>>12167436
like most things Montreal were learning the ropes with the entry game, learning its true potential, they knocked it out of the park with their second game Chaos Theory.
Pandora was made by Ubisoft Shanghai.
>>
>>12160159
>Why does no one have nostalgia for Tom clancy kino?
It's because the people who played Tom Clancy games back then were on average far older than the rest of gamers at 30+. Its been 20 years since so most of them are now in their 50's.
>>
Playing Tom Clancy games (GR's, SC's, Endwar) made me a huge rusophobe

CT>DA(OG Xbox)>DA(PC/360)>PT>SC1
