It was a bold move to make a game about a basket ball player not be a basket ball game.
>>12164485i beat this last spring maybe like march. its kind of a odd game and looking back had legitimately never heard of this or saw it in a store, maybe i did and dont remember but i remember every one wanting jordan in nba jam and him nevering being in any of them. guess jordan was one of the first nba players to control their like ness in a big way and got this game. i wonder how it sold. its fun but definitely a weird game it has good graphics tho. definitely a super 90s game amazing stuff
>>12164485It would've been bolder if they used Rodman
Bball people were really huge back then, you slapped them on anything and it would sell. Shaq Fu existed, and still to this day he sells the fuck out by shilling fill and chill printers.
This game is better than what it's idea would make you think.
>Ocean Softwareand a bong company too, who dont even know or care for basketball
C'mon and slamWelcome to the jam
for having jordan on the cover i feel like no one gave a shit about this game when usually his face on something is all thats needed to sell
>>12164485this game is the proof that the 90s were pure and absolute magical.
It's funny how Shaq Fu seems to be way more known and talked about (negatively, but still) than Windy City despite the latter probably being more playable overall.
>>12165636the fact the game even exists at all is because of Jordan being on the cover.
>>12167143it's because Shaq Fu is utter trash. Chaos in the Windy City is just a bland platformer if you take away the Jordan endorsement, the sort of game you'd rent but not buy. Shaq Fu is a genuinely bad game no matter how you slice it, so that combined with the ultra famous endorsement make it especially noteworthy.
>>12167143CitWC is certainly more playable, but there's nothing remarkable about that game. It's a very mediocre, bog-standard Western platformer. It surely would've gotten more attention it was as atrocious as Shaq Fu, but it's just nothing special.
>>12165636the aesthetic of the game is trash. it's like jordan was inserted into a generic boo haunted house game. if some designer had gone above and beyond to meet the bar of the 90s jordan basketball craze it might have been different, probably didn't help that it only had jordan and not the nba license.
>>12164485>shoots basketballs into baskets>not a basketball gameok..>>12164543I had this game when I was a kid and it kind of scared me. Magical and mysterious vibes.
>>12164485He was an icon at that point. He could have started a metal band and released a few albums at that point, and folks would hand just nodded and agreed with it.
>>12164485He transcended the nba
