Anyone here with hardware knowledge, would you say the Dreamcast's potential was already reached early on or was it capable of more than what we saw during its short run? For example, the PS2 had a complex architecture and later high budget PS2 games like Shadow of the Colossus pushed the system to its limits beyond what was seen during its early years. Dreamcast had quite a few cross gen ports with PS1/N64, and it seems like outside of Shenmue the system didn't have many high budget exclusives nor did it live long enough to share many multiplatform titles with PS2. Things like lighting/shading and particle effects seemed far behind PS2, Dreamcast had very colorful games, but its games look distinctly more flat compared to the other 6th gen consoles.
Oh no this 25 year old game running on slightly more powerful hardware looks slightly better. This is definitely worth shitposting over.

Sega GT definitely should have looked better but it is just trying to be a quick and dirty arcade experience and it looks pretty in-line with games like it of the era. I think a fairer comparison would have been Metropolis Street Racer.
