The first-party NES library is 99% garbage and I’m tired of retards parroting opinions that its games are worth playing today. Every worthwhile entry on the system got a SNES or later sequel that massively improved everything the originals tried to do to the point where NES entries are nothing more than novelties maybe worth playing for like 5 minutes.
Zelda 1/2 are hot garbage compared to LTTP, Metroid 1 is laughably bad and completely outclassed by Super and Zero Mission, Kirby’s Adventure is irrelevant with Nightmare in Dreamland.
Mario 1-3 are so basic that even something as simple as World is a better use of your time.
FE1 is irrelevant compared to the DS remake.
FF and DQ are so drastically improved by later remakes that going back to their NES versions is just idiocy (FF1 is literally a broken game).
Kid Icarus, Mach Rider, and Excitebike are still good but that’s unfortunately because they never got proper sequels.
Stop being retarded, stop being a purist, and accept that these franchises STARTED on the SNES.
>>
>NES is le AGED

Booooooooooo!
Find new material!
>>
The ONLY concession I’ll make is Mother 1, which holds up extremely well, and despite Earthbound basically improving everything, is still a fun time and tells a remarkably good story.

Even as a total zoomer I can have fun with the majority of nes games, now anything before the third gen just feels like a waste of time.

>I’m tired of retards parroting opinions
Mee too! Please stop.
>>
>>12166225
>I am a tasteless, retarded pleb, please engage with me
nah.
>>
>>12166225
Most first party nintendo games on nes are crap, I think the console was carried hard by konami and capcom and sunsoft and stuff.

>proving my point
Yep! Neeeeeext!
>>
>Punch out and Mario 2 and 3 are bad, actually!
Yeah. Okay, retard.

NES has better first party than the SNES does.
>>
I like what you call "basic" games, such as Mario 1 and 3, and Kirby's Adventure. I find that the simplicity and limitations imposed by said simplicity offer a much tighter and more focused experience than most modern games and sequels to these games. Sometimes (most of the time really) less is more.
Saging your shitty bait thread.
>>
>NES games are too difficult so I prefer the SNES titles that made them braindead enough for me to get through: the thread
>>
>>12166293
How the fuck is Mario 3 "basic"? That game is so vibrant and filled with ideas, it holds up now.
Mario 1, sure.
>>
>>12166295
Compare Mario 3 to modern Mario and you'll see. Mario 3 is great though and is very fun, yes.
>>
>>12166301
Sidescrolling Mario for years was barely trying. 3 definitely had more going on.
>>
>>12166301
>compare an 8 bit game from the 80s to something 35 years later, you'll see
wow, truly stunning insight.
>>
>>12166225
Hi Shitthetic Tran!
>>
>>12166307
>this game is fairly basic by modern standards but is still very fun today
>>>>how is it basic?
>compare it to modern games that are bloated with mechanics
>>>>>>>>your reply here
Sorry that you're retarded.
>>
>>12166307
stunningly zoomerbrained post
>>
>it's another "zoomer gets filtered by anything pre 4th gen" thread
So tiresome
>>
>>12166225
The draw for many is difficulty and simplicity
>>
>>12166225
The nes was the only half decent thing nintendo ever made and at that stage the ping ping was not completely stale either. I let it pass but shit like mario should have died with it. I have one and super mario but I don't use it, I use my 8 and 16 bit computers and my ps1/2 and arcade cabs
>>
>>12166230
i played through mother 1 a few months ago with all the grinding
the story is great, the gameplay aged like diarrhea
>>
>>12166565
Nah I lie old machines, love old arcade cabs and 8 bit computers but the NES was for price gouging kids and that was its target market, if you were into games back then you naturally went to system you could sail the high seas on like casette computers, fast spool tape drives etc, if you could get one PC 5.1/4 and later 3.5 floppy. After atari folded with rare exceptions like the vetrex and neogeo and maybe the megadrive.Until optical media came along consoles that took overpriced carts were for kids or tards, or tarded kids. That's who nintendo groomed as cash cows, mostly kids too dumb to use home computers, normies, NES owners could never write their own games or learn how to write them, just consume nintendos overpriced carts, they missed out on a lot.
>>
>>12166863
>Nah I like old machine
typo
The nes is probably the machine I take out the least if at all. In fact I can't even remember the last time I turned it on. I was playing stuff on other 8 bit systems today. Mario was fucking stale by 1988 let alone today.
>>
The original legend of zelda is one of the greatest and most ambitious games of all time, especially considering how awesome it is he second quest is. It still holds up and always will
>>
totally nonsense lol
