A delayed game is eventually made. But every game is rushed when it's made bad with the bad game eventually gets good forever
what's funny is that majora's mask is a masterpiece BECAUSE it got rushed out before miyamoto could ruin it by "fixing" it
miyamoto was an overdue baby hence the crippling autism
Didn't is turn out that the supposed "Miyamoto quote" originated from Blizzard?
>>12167225I do wonder what TP would've been like had Miyamoto not come in and thrown a bunch of shit out the window and told Aonuma and co. to pretty much start over, as supposedly happened. Supposedly the team was sort of aimless, not knowing where to go with the game, but for all we know that's a buncha hullabaloo, and Miyamoto just didn't like what they were cooking up, and being typical deferential nips they just went along with the narrative that their work was shamefur dispray until Miyamoto-senpai came in and fixed it.
>>12167235He did fix it. It has Midna and Wolflink knotting.
>>12167234Yeah it's a fake quote, like 90% of Miyamoto quotes on the western internet.
>>12167246i am the shitcube schizo– Shigeru Miyamoto
>>12167246The quote about porn games is real tho
>>12167246>Oh yes, I remember a particurar game... Gunpei Yokoi was quite taken with it. It was carred Jet Set Wirry, on the Sincrair ZX Spectrum. We had arr become famiriar with this British hardware during the design phase of the Famicom. Gunpei based much of the gamepray design of Metroid on this game, Jet Set Wirry.– Shigeru Miyamoto
>>12167235>I do wonder what TP would've been like had Miyamoto not come inProlly another gay baby game like wind wanker
>>12167220An underage shitposter never gets good
>>12167284Well yeah, they were literally going to start on a direct sequel to Wind Waker until they saw how it underperformed in the US, and when they asked NoA why this was, they basically told them Americans didn't like the kiddy graphics and look and wanted something closer to OoT, so they scrapped that and went the opposite direction. However, at first they went a lot further than that, with plans to make Link a full-ass adult with a beard and everything, but again NoA told them to just stick to OoT's look, as that is what everyone wanted. Miyamoto was actually pretty hands off during this whole period, but as you can see the Zelda team was basically just reacting to what they were told people wanted a new Zelda to be like rather than having a coherent direction for the game, which is likely why at some point progress stagnated and Miyamoto felt he needed to get involved and forced a bunch of changes. It very much started as a game they didn't even really want to make.
Actual cope I meant quote from Shigeru Miyamoto>About the N64 having few game releases, it was my idea! It is better to have fewer releases but of high quality, most kids only get 2 games a year anyway!Paraphrased from a magazine interview, don't ask me which one
Yeah, but back then you'd rent dozens of games a year, which made the nintendo 64 completely useless because it had maybe 2 good releases annually
>>12167614i believe this
I hate that this only comes up in console war threads but I really feel like the amount of games i want to play for n64 and playstation roughly balances out the same
>>12167608Why was it so hard for the retards to grasp people wanted OoT but bigger and better and not baby shit?
>>12167220>a delayed game is eventually madeNo it isn't. A delayed game can, and do, get stuck in development hell, or delayed to such a degree that it loses track of its original intended goal and becomes shit, like Duke Nukem Forever.
>>12168442https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_The_Wind_Waker>Early concepts generally followed Ocarina of Time's designs, with graphics enhanced for the new system's capabilities.>The Zelda team, however, had exhausted its ideas for this style and format.[8] Aonuma hated the demo, finding it derivative of past Zelda games.[9] The team explored other directions until designer Yoshiki Haruhana created a cartoonish drawing of a young Link that caught their eye. Design manager Satoru Takizawa drew up an enemy Moblin in a similar style, and the team seized on the new gameplay and combat possibilities afforded by the stylized cartoon aesthetic. >Aonuma initially kept the development quiet as he worried that Miyamoto would take issue with the cartoon style.[15]>Miyamoto remained dubious of the art direction and reminded Aonuma that it was not too late to change course. Ultimately Miyamoto relented due to the team's enthusiasm about the cartoon style and the fact that it could have taken a decade to make a more realistic Zelda with their resources. You can't really blame the team though. Who could predict negative responses from the company that makes childish games making their game childish? Crazy that Miyamoto didn't like it though, it's the exact kind of thing you'd expect from his games.
>>12168535This right here is it. While the meme is that Nintendo just remakes the same games over and over to tendies willing to keep buying the same game over and over, at least historically Nintendo had rarely been content with just repeating formulas wholesale. Even where they made games by reusing assets, they usually changed things up enough that they felt like entirely new games. TP was a rare case where they entirely capitulated to their audience's demands and made what THEY wanted rather than something unique and non-derivative. I don't dislike TP or anything, but even when I played it at launch it felt off how much they were deliberately aping OoT, though paradoxically I was one of the fags clamoring for MOAR OOT just a couple years back.
>>12167276The Carmack one? And in context, that one was during Doom's development when they discussed about the ingame plot.
