>goated>nobody on /vr/ has heard of ithow is it possible?
c&c
more like goyda'd
>>12167248I played it
>>12167248i had heard of it, but never actually played it
i don't care about singleplayer rts games
>>12167270except battlezone and urban assault ofc
>>12167248>Game of All Trannies Probably that's why nobody except you knows it.
>>12167270Z has multiplayer
>>12167270I remember it used to have a small but active multiplayer community. They were even developing a multiplayer-focused source port called Zod Engine, but it’s probably dead by now.
>>12167253they play nothing alike
>>12167286meds
>>12167253the only good c&c game is shattered paradise
I member, the game was all over magazines at one point
>>12167253in C&C you can build your base and take you time, in Z you have to capture territories before the AI does because that's the only way to get buildings and units
Such a unique game. The AI was brutal, the player had a signifiant disadvantage at the start of every map, and luck has a major role when it comes to vehicles combat. One lucky shot could kill some drivers and you could capture the vehicle, etc.The sprites were amazing (especially the animated portraits) and the pathfinding was very well done.
>>12167248It was blood-pissingly difficult in single-player, at least the original version (the mobile one basically castrated both enemy and friendly AI). Some missions could only be won by luck and repeated attempts.
>>12167527Forgot to add, the gimped AI is an issue in the Windows version as well, since that one's a port of the mobile one, instead of a DOS remaster.
>>12167248I wanted to like it because the presentation was excelentbut I was a dumb 10yo and I just couldn't play itin contrast, I had a lot of fun with warcraft, c&c, kknd, age of empires, at around the same age. though maybe I was significantly older for some of theseI should give it another try
>>12167516i fucking love the aesthetics. the cutscenes were hilarious too>>12167527yeah it wasn't very forgiving, you couldn't just turtle and wait to build troops like a more classic rts you had to be aggressive>>12167546>but I was a dumb 10yo and I just couldn't play itbecause of the difficulty? it was a pretty straight forward game in term of gameplay
>>12167248I played it. I think I finished single player. Basically, once you get 51% control of the map against the CPU, you inevitably win. I think I even remember playing it multiplayer over modem, maybe once or twice, but my friends in high school were really bad at games so I won extremely easily and they never wanted to play me again.
>>12167557>because of the difficulty? it was a pretty straight forward game in term of gameplayI suppose it was straightforwardbut I remember it feeling very fast and aggressiveI was just completely overwhelmedI think I was probably too young to deal with it
>>12167248>rtsslop>goateddiamond dozen broski
I only like RTS games that let me comfortably turtle
>>12167573>but I remember it feeling very fast and aggressive Yep, every campaign map forced you to rush until you got about 60% of sectors. Each captured sector decreased construction time in all your factories, so missions invariably turned into snowballs, and it was nigh-impossible to recover from a losing streak.
>>12167583meds
>>12167248Cause it sucks ass. Enemy AI steals vehicles from you a lot easier than your units can steal them back.
>>12167595>pharmaslopabjure baphomet, broseph
>>12167248I remember playing a demo of the PS1 version when I was a kid. I did find even the demo level to be difficult, though that was probably just because it was my first RTS.
>>12167248I played it in the 90's. Singleplayer campaign only. The setting was really cool but it was hard to really enjoy because as per usual with RTS games the way to win is by clicking units and locations faster than your opponent. It's just a mad rush to send out your robots to claim factories and vehicles before the computer and once you've got a headstart it's impossible to lose.
>>12167664>once you've got a headstart it's impossible to loseNever understimate a (un)lucky grenade on a tank.
>>12167248I played on psx in 1998 in one of my neighboors' house
Why do the robot men have nipples?
>>12167820how else are you going to milk them?
>>12167248I’ve never even heard of A-Y.
>>12169161does V2000 count? (spoiler: it's bad)
>>12167248It isn't even the greatest of its own time you piece of shitYou should feel very bad about this post.
>>12169427i feel extremely good about it. thank you for the (You) and bump.
>>12169445There were better RTS games in 1996
>>12169449seriously? I had no idea
