We got so fucking robbed by not getting a PS2 port of Dark Resurrection despite the arcade machine being basically a PS2.I hate going back to vanilla T5. It's broken and has no Dragunov, Lily and Armor King II, arguably the best newcomers since T3.Anyway, T5DR thread. It was the last arcade Tekken machine that I ever saw irl. Many a friendship and rivalry was formed over playing it. I played the PS3 remaster quite a lot too but when they released online mode it was laggy on my side. I played ghost battle the most, some of those custom ai opponents were tough.
>>12167249>arcade machine being basically a PS2.Some people think that System 256 has more ram than stock PS2 but apparently it's not the case. Just a PS2 with custom BIOS and security dongle.
>>12167249What's your main? Mine are Kaz and Bryan
>>12167335Mah boy Armor King
>>12167249>It was the last arcade Tekken machine that I ever saw irl.it was the last arcade fighter i ever put money into. 50 cents to play for like one minute, and the experience was the exact same as ps2 (except i had to use controls i didnt like). it was so over
>>12167249>vanilla T5Might be a minor issue but I prefer T5DR stages and overall presentation.
>>12167443Mah gal Joolia
>>12167249>despite the arcade machine being basically a PS2.I didn't know that. COOL.
>>12167451I never hear anyone talk about the price raise from 25 to 50 cents as a factor in the decline of arcades. I experienced the tail end of the era and I know I'd choose the older games that cost only a quarter vs paying 50+ cents for a game you'd die nearly instantly in.
>>12167249Probably one of my most played psp games, amazing game. I find it odd that no one's made a romhack for Tekken 5 with DR's stuff yet.I think someone did it for Soul Calibur 3 and the arcade mode, so it's clearly possible, we just need a crazy anon to do it.
>>12167861>I never hear anyone talk about the price raise from 25 to 50 cents as a factor in the decline of arcades.i have always found it strange that doesnt seem to come up on this board. during the height of mk2/mk3 (which was my focus at the time, i never played tekken til the ps1) many cabinets were $.50 to start and some even to continue if you were in a tourist/vacation spot. that was ridiculously expensive for a fleeting fighting game experience when every quarter was precious. i remember only playing virtua fighter when i was down to one quarter because thats all it cost.
>>12167864I think it could also be possible to run the arcade version directly on PS2 with custom bios. The game has a PS2 executable on the dongle
Tekken bread? For me it's still Tekken 3.
>>12168012This means you're not a serious competitive player. Which is okay, T3 is soul
>>12168691What makes Tekken 3 not competitive? I took part in several T3 tourneys as a kid
>>12168754Randomized damage. Jin is too good. Some characters have much better counters than others. All of this was fixed in Tekken Tag Tournament.
>>12168767>Randomized damageSoul desu
If Tekken Team got off their asses they could make the perfect 5 port with >Vanilla side modes + Arcade History>DR balance and characters>Current netcode
>>12168775This. People deal with rng in singleplayer games all the time but once it's a multiplayer game it is somehow "unfair". Little bitch mentality. The more sets you play the less rng affects the outcome.
>>12168823Won't happen. They did a PS5 port of Tekken 3 recently with a total lack of netplay. They don't care
>>12168823They should port Soul Calibur 2 with a good netcode, that would actually sell
>>12169574Idk, Tekken 5 sold much better than Soulcalibur 2
>>12167249>despite the arcade machine being basically a PS2.If that is true it should be a relatively easy project for hackers to do a fan release of the game.
