How were RE1-3 created? How did they create the pre-rendered backgrounds?
>>12169493>How were RE1-3 created? They were programmed and compiled.>How did they create the pre-rendered backgrounds? They rendered them ahead of time.
Google search RE fan sites, there is one with a collection of magazine interviews, some of which detail the programs used for the 3D rendering

>>12169493>How did they create the pre-rendered backgrounds? It's a png or a jpg. Maybe a bmp.
>>12169493>How did they create the pre-rendered backgrounds?expensive dedicated 3d workstations, pc had no hope of rendering this kind of stuff back then.
>>12169624It's neither of those and jpg and png were not commonly used when RE1/2 were made (png wasn't created until after the dev of RE1)The only RE that uses jpg is the shitty N64 port of 2
>trinitroon pvmemefucking disgusting
>>12169646How do I make it noe
>>12169493They took a lot of photos and ran them through AI filters
>>12169779you download blender, model and texture the environment, setup the lighting, hit render to generate the png then return to whatever you were doing when you realize you have no artistic sense or skill.
>>12169493This information is on Wikipedia, old gaming magazines, and in the supplementary material released for the game like guidebooks. There was even a VHS tape released which is on Youtube. The simple overview1. RE1 had filmed live action cutscenes shot in a park for the actors, and additional CGI cutscenes for other scenes. 2. RE2-3 only had CGI cutscenes. 3. They used 3D programs to create the backgrounds and CGI videos. These were then compressed into an image or video file for the game. 4. The games are actually fully 3D, just with invisible collision data and the characters running in front of 2d images. 5. The rest of the game is 3D, and the same as other games like Tomb Raider, Crash, Spyro, Mario 64, etc. They create models, 3D tectures, music, etc. 5. They kept recycling the engine and updating it rather than make new ones.
>>12169493The backgrounds were probably rendered on SGI workstations or some shit.
>>12169909useless info dumb from chatgpt
>>12169916yeah most likely indigo, at least for the first game

Nice, a Resident Evil thread.I'm currently playing Resident Evil 3 on Hard Mode and I'm having fun so far.I'm currently in the Clock Tower and I gotta ask:1. I've been currently stockpiling gunpower so far. Is it a good strategy or is Resident Evil 3 just like 2 where ammo is plentiful?2. Should I ditch the handgun and shogun and focus on the grenade launcher? I got an Eagle part from one of the Nemesis encounters but wonder if it's be useful when grenade ammo seems plentiful.
>>12169659This.
>>12170168The Eagle is an improved Handgun that crits and can headshot zombies, it makes Nemesis mad thoughIf you want to be OP, use your powder to make grenade launcher or magnum ammo. Grenades can also be improved to other types of grenades by combining them with powder.
>>12170173Thanks.1. I guess I gotta take out Nemesis the when next optional encounter happens then. I've skipping him all throughout the game, does the drops remain static?2. Obviously, the Freeze grenades should be used against Nemesis but what about the Flame and Acid grenades?
>>12170185>does the drops remain static? No, the drops cycle through a list depending on how many times you defeat him.>but what about the Flame and Acid grenades?Acid and flame do about 15-20 less damage compared to Freeze (which does around 80)
>>12170185Grenades in the old games (1~3) don't really have that many different uses. Acid Rounds are the strongest, Fire Rounds damage over time, and Freeze Rounds leave a small cloud around (and are good against Nemesis). They only gained specializations in Code Veronica and onwards, where Fire Rounds are good against dogs and that worm boss, and Acid Rounds destroy the armor of armored enemies.
