Apparently so. A friend of mine in high school said the framerate was awful in the PS2 version of UT. I've never played that version, but I've played the crap out of the PC version.

Yes, Ps2 UT kinda sucks. Terrible framerate ruins it. Dreamcast version runs slightly better but controls are awful.

The framerate sucks yeah but its good for a quick fix to fly through the campaign in an afternoon. The same reason why I like deus ex on the ps2. Its good ports.
