You didn't care about the shitty emulation either because as long as it worked well enough to play the games, that was all that mattered.People who didn't get into retro vidya and emulators until later on developed the skewed perception that the higher prices for the hardware means that it's somehow more valuable to play on them. So it stopped being about just playing the games and started being more about achieving some perfect setup.But to us older gamers it's still about the games. It's why a lot of us still use the original ZSNES and Kega Fusion.

>>12587937I used Kega Fusion until a few years back when I bit the bullet and set up RetroArch. Even then, I use the Genesis Plus GX core instead of the supposedly superior BlastEm to maintain compatibility with Genesis Plus GX on my Wii and other devices, so I'm still just going by whatever works.

I gave away most of my collection when I tried to an hero like a decade ago. I still have some stuff but I only game on PC. I played SNES Star Fox last week, I have my original childhood cart and SNES maybe 10 feet away... I played it on emulator.
