i just finished with a playthrough of 4 again and I'm reminded why (at least as it pertains to 4) I prefer the silent protag over voiced. Granted, Niko is not exactly enjoyable to listen to over the course of a full-game, but GTA III felt great because you truly just immersed yourself in Claude where you get barked orders and you accomplish them.
