>yeah bro just practice this combo in the lab for 1000 hours until you get the timing just right lol

Is there any worse artificial difficulty than this? it's impressive that pros get to have this on lockdown like robots grinding 12 hours a day, but honestly it's such a NEET game. I got good at sf4 but I had to be a neet to do it

The entire game feels like you are struggling to even have control of the character. Mastering the inputs is half the battle

>Is there any worse artificial difficulty than this?
SF2 has RANDOM input windows. As in, after detecting a motion input, you have a random number of frames where inputting an attack button will throw out a special move. So yes, it can be worse.

Vanilla sf2? Or the ones they still play in tournaments?

>Mastering the inputs is half the battle
What makes that artificial? A lot of the difficulty comes from execution, that's just what the game is.

Even Super Turbo has this.

Yes I hate how fighting games are about who is the biggest loser that spent more time training some long boring combo and not who's the best at reading their opponent, using special moves and normals at the correct time, etc

You might enjoy Inuyasha a Feudal Fairy Tale, that game has the player perform direction + button inputs, like in Smash, as opposed to QCF and other pretzels.
Sadly, pretty much all other fighting games with loose execution (Granblue, Fight of Animals, Fantasy Strike etc.) are not /vr/.

Tekken 3 doesn't suffer from this. It's about mindgames and distance management. The moves are simple to learn but the game is fast paced and fun. You don't need to know the entire movelist. Most pros only throw out a few moves but you will see everyone has their own style. You can be a casual and pick up the game and have fun quickly.

You can't do that with the SF series. Incredibly janky games which only become playable around 300+ hours in where you start to have some control of your character (in a live match)
And god help your hands if you're playing on pad. And god help you if you're trying to learn on keyboard or joystick

Evil Zone and the DBZ Budokai games are also pretty easy to execute specials in. There was one other fighting game I heard of a handful of years ago that was made in direct response to fighting games becoming a dexterity test over actual combat mechanics that deliberately had simple inputs, but I forget the name.

DBZ budokai (3) has 1000 different skills and moves that take a while to get used to. I saw pros playing it and thought it looked awesome, but then you play it yourself and there's 100 different things to remember. It's not something I can be bothered to get into now, although as a DBZ fan the game looks and feels awesome

This is why you play Samurai Shodown.

>Just be a fat NEET and lab combos for 10 years bro

Yeah, id rather not

You know, you just need to know BNB, and setup heavy combos aren't really a thing in competitive play.
>>

Fighting games are awesome in an autistic way. Yes all the practice is a waste of time, but it's what gives the games that martial arts feel. I'm not a competitive player but I enjoy watching tournaments.

Jump in BnB combos still take a while to learn for most characters. Pulling them off in live matches is even harder. Then you have mysterious terms like plinking etc. what the fuck even is that. And I played usf4 against players that entered tourneys and played against top players. I could do sagats 1 frame links. but even his BnB punished e.g normals into tiger knee seemed like a nightmare to not only practice, but pull off in matches. Then I tried the alpha games recently and realised it's the same shit but worse. My hands hurt. I haven't got all day for this shit anymore. Sorry

Street Fighter EX series is based and doesn’t suffer from this issue, so try that one, stop playing unfun Alphaslop. You can thank me later.
