I never shop at Craigslist because of psychos killing people they meet on that website, such as the Craigslist killer.
>>

Not /vr/, but Melee alone typically goes for 60 bucks, and Double Dash isn't that far behind. This doesn't seem like that ridiculous of a price to me, all things considered.
>>
>>4898008
I live in Arvada and I can confirm that prices here are pretty insane. This isn't the worst price but you probably wont find a game store around here that would sell Melee for less than 80 bucks.

You familiar with the thrift stores around that area? The Savers in Highlands Ranch and the one off Broadway were god tier stores. Found retro vidya there all the time. Unfortunately Savers went out of business in CO or some shit and now the retard thrift store took their place. I fucking hate ARC so goddamn much.

Another nice place for games which is also closed now was Buyback Games, also on Broadway. Some dude was trading in a bunch of cool shit one time and I offered him cash on the spot. Managed to score pic related for about $10 each. Also saw tons of rare games there, they had Rule of Rose for like $40 once.

I really miss Colorado

That reminds me, in our country's version of craigslist there's some guy who's obviously selling repros of any kind of SNES games, both rare and common and he's asking 20 bucks for every game and acts as if they're a steal. What's even funnier is that some idiots actually fell for it and they gave some angry public feedback like "DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY IT'S A SCAM!!". Well no shit, as if people with a little common sense and knowledge about Nintendo games wouldn't know that already.
>>
>>4898168
Systems have a period where they dip down to almost nothing around 10-15 years after their release, before rising back up. I remember in the mid 00s, game stores were climbing over each other to get rid of their used N64s and selling them for like 5 bucks.

Right now, the Wii, PS3, and Xbox360 are dirt cheap. Expect them to spike back up in price in four or five years.

Pi is what like $30? And roms/emulators are free so you wasted $170 on something you could have easily done yourself.

You pay a premium for condition. It's hard to find them in good condition considering their old life, and it takes a lot of time and effort to restore them to this good of condition. If you want one cheaper, you have to do the effort of a restoration. I got a joust machine for $50 about 8 years ago but had to put about $300 worth of parts and labor for a few things I couldn't do.

I got tired of this on craigslist in my area and since reporting software piracy to craigslist themselves is completely pointless, what I did was make a script to automate reporting them to Nintendo instead. Ninty's legal team is so aggressive you don't really need to notify any of the other companies being infringed.

Such a stupid design. Just replace the fusible resistor with a polyfuse so the next time the mere act of pulling a controller out shorts the 5V line and blows it, it'll reset by itself upon cooling down.
>>
>>4900993
Yeah that's what I sell. It's a battery holder, new battery and a resettable fuse. I only make like 5 bucks a kit and people keep trying to clone my listings but I've sold like 50 of them in the last few months while they have no sales.
>>
>>4900998
I assume you're the guy selling the kit with the proper 3V rechargeable cell? I cringe every time I see a listing with a CR2032.
>>
>>4901004
I was until the last week, people weren't buying them any more frequently than the non-rechargeable so I said fuck it and just bought 100 CR2032s for 10% of the cost of the rechargeables.
>>
>>4901004
Or LIR2032s, which are the wrong fucking voltage.

>>4901010
Can't say I'm surprised. I wonder how many 'mishaps' the charge current the DC puts through those has caused.
>>
>>4901010
As in, I had a listing for both and there was no difference in sales numbers and the price was the same. People don't know what their doing or care they just want it to work. I get people offering me trade-ins to install it for them which has been a lot better, some guy is sending me 8 Dreamcast guts for installing it in 2 boards which takes me like 20 seconds with my desoldering gun.
