>it’s 1997>daft punks “around the world” is on MTV>you’re at science nerd summer camp at a university in the northwest, staying in the dorms>you have a case of Surge in your closet>you’re talking about total annihilation with another nerd and you’re excited to play it when you get home>life is good
>>1846121why talk about supcom when we can have thirteen hoi4 threads not to mention vic3 and other VN/paraslop garbage
>>1846121Is this better than. BAR?
>>1846146>you’re at science nerd summer camp at a university in the northwest, staying in the dormsI was 5 years old.
>>1846146I never got around to trying sobe and now I never will.
>>1846435Supocom is far more polished but its engine is dated and shits itself at games larger than 4v4
>>1846435Supcom is basically the unsurpassed template that games like BAR aspire to. It's only real issue at this stage is being a dated 32bit game that can easily hit performance issues when there's a lot of players in a game or a lot of stuff on the map.

>Play this with a friend>We just turtle and rush to energy/mass generators while doing no attacking>Game devolves into who has built enough nuclear silos and defence>He always got those satellites that were immune>This led to games where I'd attempt to turtle (or he'd not play) and then rush experimentalsHonestly, wasn't that enjoyable. Also chugged like ass if the game went for too long
>>1848265i found artillery vs artillery much more satisfying, me and a buddy would just ban tech 3 and the games would become 200x more interesting and chess like, if we do tech 3, itll be no nukes/game enders, and on maps with no water
>>1848265Sounds like real life post-MAD warfare to me.
>>1848267This. If we allowed T4 artillery / Sats then it ends up being a game of 'who got theirs up first and bapped the power grid / commander'
>>1848265>why is a game boring when we do nothing for 50 minutes and end the game with nuke spam instead of playing how it was designedSkill issue?
>>1846435It's similar but BAR is played more zoomed in and plays more like TA. BAR has some different mechanics, for example ground radar is affected by terrain and it has unit resurrection. I was cynical at first but fukken hell it feels good being able to play the game at decent fps in the late game but even BAR has performance issues past 5k units which happens in 8v8 matches.

Why the fuck is FAF client hogging CPU and having RAM spikes all the time are they mining bitcoin with this shit?
>>1846506it's just juice, anon, i used to grab a sobe and sammich for lunch at my first job (literally a video rental store) a few times a week, and despite enjoy it, it wasn't worth the nostalgia.I do miss matrix green powerade though.
game cant even handle 80x80 maps without dying. very lame
>>1852668What is a crumb of bitcoin between friends?
>>18540932007 gameif i had a billion bucks, i'd buy the title and have it redeveloped with multithreading
>>1846121>no thread on supreme commander>old game>no one cares plus its very hard to play on modern systemsnah i think its fine.
>>1849145>>why is a game boring when we do nothing for 50 minutes and end the game with nuke spam instead of playing how it was designedSome people are like that.I remember playing a 2v1 with two brothers, they asked for a 15 minute no rush timer. As soon as the timer was over I shrecked them with a couple czars. They got pissed, absolutely hit the roof.
FA is the only game where destroying big bases, and defending your base desperately as it gets besieged and destroyed, is actually fun. Usually RTS make you build some finnicky slow anti-building unit or you do tickle damage.
