With how similar this game feels to Sid Meier's Pirates! or M&B I find myself mentally filling in the blanks with how my crew is doing. Like what their daily lives are like on the ships, whether or not they would be in high morale or how their mood might depend on what we're doing or how long we've been away or what it's like when the fleet goes dark. A crew morale system or XP system separate from officers or player leadership would be cool, or flavor events and dialogue while you're out in space.It would be a little at odds with the setting though with how grim everything is, hundreds of lives is a disposable number cheaper than a single weapon at times, but it would be neat.
