Cover Financial Results for FY2026/3 Q2 are out
They're losing 1 billion yen per quarter in sales due to tariffs, resulting in a YoY decrease in profit. I don't see the situation changing anytime soon there.

>550m yen write-down
>A write-down is an accounting process where a business reduces the value of its inventory on its balance sheet because its market value has fallen below its original cost. This adjustment is necessary when goods become obsolete, are damaged, or are near expiration, and it is recorded as an expense on the income statement.
So in addition to losing up to 500m-1b yen due to tariffs, they also spent 550m essentially buying back their own merchandise?

>Individual/group interviews with talents continue to be conducted. Aims to increasingly reflect talent intentions in various initiatives.
The Hololive graduations did hurt them and Cover even included statements about doing more to reflect what talents want. That really shouldn't have required an 8 talent graduation wave but at least they have realized that management getting into constant fights with talents isn't a good long term strategy. Still won't undo those graduations but maybe it will lower the chances for 2026.

>>106562061
>I assume "Meta" is holoearth, seems they have a few employees working on it
Cover is likely doing some corporate trickery by having the HoloEarth software programmers counted under in the content creation software development team instead of having them specifically in Metaverse development. There is no way they have less than 100 employees working on HoloEarth and MMO game development tends to bloat quickly.

If Trump's """"brilliant""""" idea is going to be turning America into the manufacturer of the world by copying China and churning out cheap plastic from his factories, its going to blow up in his face. Unions are are an institution in the US, and no amoint of kingplaying is going to remove them. And with unions around, the average Joe will want higher pay even for a factory job.
tl;dr no one is going to buy American. Its already too expensive, and other parts of the world have already dropped American products because of the tariffs.

Oh, and I specified local workers. America COULD copy China if it got more cheap labour, but you polfags sure love to rep ICE. Well guess what - no cheap labour for you. Unless (you) want to be the cheap labour, of course.

Literally look up "median personal income [insert country]" and you will realize you're so wrong after converting it all to USD. You should also understand this median income is taxed for a mere 18%. Just because the US has a lot more CEOs and other top earners (because the upper tax brackets are lower than in Europe), it then implies the average Joe earns anywhere close to the mean wage. Indeed, the higher the income inequality, the higher the discrepancy between average and median.

>not to mention the raw materials to build the merchandise is still subject to the tariffs
But much of it comes from the US, .ie cotton, textiles, wood, etc.
Yagoo is too obsessed with the profit margins from cheap acrylics, ignoring that shipping may cost more than the merch, before adding tariffs.
>>
>>106561118
if this is what it takes for cover to finally get rid of the homoshitters then unfortunately this is how it has to be
>>
>>106567335
It's even simpler than that.
Half of the country has been politically radicalized to the point where they don't care if they're hurt as long as "the other guy" is upset, too.
They'll gladly get all of their rights and government resources/benefits removed and let their children starve if it means they can "own the libs."
Their guys up top siphoning all the money? Don't worry about that. The hippies and liberals are waving weird flags and want to murder your unborn children!

It's really depressing because it leads to situations like the tariffs and the government shutting down welfare, which obviously leads to less merch as people are struggling to put food on the table as is.
>>
>>106567335
>>106570114

>They also lost Gura who practically printed money on the EN side and pulled normies in.
They still won’t admit how much the lost of her IP has cost them. It's not just her streaming numbers, but the continuous record-breaking merch sales. Losing a large portion of her audience outside of the Holobox has impacted those sales and future endeavors, like the TCG cards and HoloEarth. Could you imagine the numbers on upcoming Twitch collabs with SNOT? They don't need Twitch to put on front page, Chumbuds would do that automatically.

Can talk about the numbers in the EN concerts, but there's not much profit from it, and with the same high shipping costs for the merch, there are fewer people buying. Meanwhile, Gura has proven you can pull concert audiences with a Meet and Greet Karaoke. Then, adding same merch suppliers that Saba uses would have huge profit margins.

It is not.
Trump has never even hinted at copying cheap junk back to the US. It's the vital markets, US Steel, Autos, Chip manufacturing, furniture, Rare-Earth processing, etc. The are other nations that can do the cheap plastics and clothes, like Vietnam, which was the first country to make a trade agreement with Trump.

Cover blaming their financial ineptitude on tariffs is very disingenuous. Ignoring that tariffs are much smaller than the shipping costs that they failed to fix. Many competent companies have adjusted. Vietnam can produce the same and already has the infrastructure in place. Cover has worked with California-based Omocat before, and can continue for the Western audience.

Gura's re-release of Dino Gura had no tariffs, so they do have some connections outside of China. But that Ebi is what added the duties. Still bought it.

Holo and Phase got hit hard by the traffics because the shipment company they were using was purposefully (and legally) categorising their merchandise incorrectly, happened to a lot of publishers who were categorising their books as children’s toys and such.

Anon... you do know car manufacturers don't plan and build factories within 10 months, right? "Judge by what I see" and right after that saying "more incoming" is actually laughably retarded

Of course, it's not going to be done overnight. But the Rav4 plant in Georgetown is already under construction. The Battey plant will start this year. Luckily, we have a President who will help bypass much of the red tape and is well-experienced with construction.
Just like he told the Mayor of LA, she has the power to start and streamline the reconstruction right away. But she gotta feed that bureaucracy.

It didn't take that long to move US plants abroad. Just seeing the reverse process in action is a win that we can build upon.

>It didn't take that long to move US plants abroad
The incentive was because foreing labout is cheaper than US based one. You are never going to get things 100% manufactured in the USA unless you found a consistent population willingly working for peanuts. It's the same reason why you never are going to have cheap housing, healthcare or college education. Because all of them use national labour. Unless you are willing to create a real migration reform for temporary workers.

>The incentive was because foreing labout is cheaper than US based one.
The goal isn't to bring back cheap labor, nor is cheap labor exclusive to China. Many other countries can produce what China does.Trump aims to repatriate critical production, not low-end apparel or footwear. The 15% tariff serves as the offset. Future factories that Trump is trying to bring back will be more automated, requiring more skilled workers.
>It's the same reason why you never are going to have cheap housing, healthcare or college education.
Different reasons. Real estate is an international problem. Supply and demand affect prices more than cheap labor. Obama bailing out the banks instead of the homeowners kept real estate high. Mass immigration prevents a housing bubble burst. Guaranteed insurance and student loans encourage price increases.

Trump gutted the Chips act (but considering that the AI bubble is set to explode maybe is a net positive), but even that there is barely any critical products that can't be 100 percent made in the USA. The tariffs already set the economy on fire and the only light in the tunnel is the SCOTUS reversing them. But Trump brain is so gone that he probably would throw a fit and refuse to comply.

itt: retards not realizing that the primary goal of the high tariffs was to pressure foreign nations to reduce their own tariffs on American exports.

>The are other nations that can do the cheap plastics and clothes, like Vietnam, which was the first country to make a trade agreement with Trump.

And Vietnam is now an outlier for China:
https://www.vietnam-briefing.com/news/vietnam-china-economic-partnership-amid-global-tensions-top-chinese-leaders-visit.html/

You're not going to beat China by relying on other countries who are close to China. China has been influencing Vietnam a lot lately, and they stepped uo their influence during Trump eras

Its a retarded strategy because it assumes the other countries won't deal with recession better than America.

Vietnam made the agreement with Trump months after that article. The reason why Vietnam was so eager to trade with the US is that it wanted to stop being China's bitch. Being the first to make an agreement with Trump, was a big FU to China. Part of the trade agreement is that China can no longer use Vietnam to get around tariffs, like what they were doing in the past.

China does not care about US tariffs at all on a state level. Individual Chinese companies were trying to get around tariffs, but the CCP thinks Trump is a godsend for antagonizing the rest of the world to get closer to China instead of America.

Who are these countries that keep getting closer to China? Russia? That's Biden's fault.
Are the countries in indentured servitude due to BRI?
Indonesia, the 4th largest country in the world, should have been the next China. But since their corrupt politicians are in bed with China. They give their resources away (rare-earth minerals and oil), remaining a third-world country, and wasting their potential for cheap labor to the Western world.
