I saw a lot of posting about the logistics of getting around LA in global so I figure I should share here too. You don't NEED need a rental car but you have to be strategic about it. The Palladium is on Sunset and there's a Metro stop right in front of it. I forget if there's a rapid transit line, I don't get up to Sunset very often. But your goal should be getting to Sunset. I do not care how cheap hotels are in the area around MacArthur Park, they will give you bedbugs. There's a Holiday Inn Express near on Sunset near Dodger Stadium that shouldn't be too expensive now that baseball season is over. If anyone wants to know about using the subway from North Hollywood or whatever just ask. .
